    Caring staff, effective rehab, recommended

I placed my mom here for rehab and long-term care and have been very impressed - the staff are caring, knowledgeable, and communicative, and the therapy team helped her make real progress. The community is clean, welcoming, and well-equipped with comfortable rooms and lively activities; I'd recommend it to other families.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews for Allisonville Meadows are strongly mixed, with families describing both clear strengths and recurrent operational weaknesses. Positive feedback centers on front-line caregiving, a well-regarded rehabilitation/therapy program, an active recreation schedule, and an attractive, well-appointed facility environment. Many families praised individual staff members, admissions liaisons, and social-services support for clear communication, coordination of stays, and help with insurance and discharge planning. The memory-care and rehab services receive frequent positive mention for producing measurable functional improvements for some residents.

At the same time, a substantial portion of reviews describe service failures that point to systemic issues. Key clinical concerns include inconsistent medication administration controls and episodes where medication timing or food requirements were not followed. Reviewers also describe delays in responding to call lights and care requests, which families associate with chronic understaffing and high turnover. Several accounts raise concerns about nursing skill variability and gaps in adherence to prescribed therapy schedules, suggesting uneven clinical oversight across shifts.

Dining and daily living experiences are similarly inconsistent. While some reviewers complimented meals and a family-style dining atmosphere, others noted cold meals, substitutions that did not meet dietary needs, and variability in assistance getting to and from the dining room or bathroom. Housekeeping and sanitation are praised in many comments about the building’s presentation, but there are repeated notes about housekeeping lapses and odor concerns in some units. Facility amenities and rooms (including refrigerators, microwaves, and TVs) are frequently cited as positives.

Management and communication receive polarized feedback. Several reviewers named specific leaders and admissions staff as responsive and helpful, yet other families described poor follow-up on concerns, confusing discharge or billing communication, and limited transparency after clinical incidents. A subset of reviews recount serious clinical events and safety problems; these raise questions about incident-response protocols, family notification, and escalation procedures. Weekend and after-hours coverage also appears uneven in multiple accounts.

For prospective residents and families: Allisonville Meadows offers strong rehabilitative services, an active activities program, and an appealing physical environment. At the same time, the pattern of complaints about staffing, medication-safety controls, response times, and certain housekeeping and dining inconsistencies warrants careful inquiry. Recommended steps before placement include asking for current staffing ratios by unit and shift, clarifying medication-administration protocols and incident escalation procedures, reviewing recent inspection or licensing records, observing care during multiple shifts (including nights/weekends), and speaking directly with therapy, nursing leadership, and social services about expectations for dietary and mobility support.

    About Allisonville Meadows

Allisonville Meadows sits in Fishers, Indiana and offers a range of care options, so folks can get what they need as their health or life changes, like short-term rehabilitation, memory care, long-term care, respite care, hospice, and outpatient therapy, all under one roof. The place has specific terms for its programs, like the "Road to Recovery" program, which starts team planning and discharge goal setting within 72 hours of admission, and the "Meaningful Day" activity program, built on four domains of wellness, both set up to make sure residents can stay active and engaged. There are private rooms in a setting that's safe, cheerful, and soothing, aiming for a home-like feeling, while also having dining services, a gym and fitness area, an outdoor courtyard, and parking for customers, trying to cover the practical needs of daily living. You see clear exterior signage, wheelchair access, and a secure, dementia-supportive living area for people with Alzheimer's or other forms of memory loss, following a wellness-based, person-centered approach with daily activities designed to build independence and a healthy outlook, all supported by skilled clinicians using up-to-date treatments. Along with independent living, assisted living, and nursing home levels of support, the place has a hospice program-featuring an interdisciplinary care team that includes doctors, nurses, aides, social workers, clergy, and volunteers-plus partnerships with local hospice groups to cover both comfort and emotional support for patients and families. Outpatient therapy is available and tailored, with physical, occupational, and speech therapies offered as needed, focusing on mobility and overall health, while specialized help like wound care, fall prevention, contracture management, wheelchair positioning, and gait programs also show up as part of regular services. Allisonville Meadows also has respite care so caregivers can catch a break or arrange for short-term care in case of illness or after a hospital visit, and if an extended stay's needed, the place can make that shift. Staff are trained to provide expert senior care and are known for becoming part of the residents' extended family, while the environment uses a research-based, reminiscence model for memory care to help people feel like they belong and have meaning. Payment can go through several options, including Medicaid, and if someone's new to Medicaid, there are specialists ready to help them figure out the process. Every service and feature, from the secure dementia unit to the activity programs, seems aimed at maintaining both independence and daily dignity, with licensed nurses, health aides, and support from physicians, therapists, social workers, and volunteers all doing their part for each resident's well-being and quality of life.
