    Moved mom; compassionate, professional staff

I moved my mom to Meadow Brook and have been very pleased. The building and apartments are beautiful and spotless, meals feel restaurant-quality, and there are plenty of engaging activities. Staff - from Corrie and Megan Clark to the nursing and therapy teams - are professional, compassionate and treat residents like family; management communicated well and gave us real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Meadow Brook Senior Living elicits strongly polarized impressions: many families describe a warm, attractive campus with attentive, compassionate employees and a wide range of amenities, while other families raise operational concerns that they believe affect clinical safety and day‑to‑day care. The facility's strengths include an engaged activities program, a visible wellness and activities leadership, numerous social opportunities and excursions, and a variety of on‑site amenities (movie theater, salon, bistro, therapy spaces). Apartment features such as in‑unit laundry, roomy bathrooms, and flexible dining/tray options are commonly highlighted, and several reviewers praised move‑in support, concierge services, and responsive maintenance.

Care and clinical services draw mixed commentary. Positive accounts emphasize respectful, person‑centered attention from caregivers, available on‑site therapy services and nurse practitioners, and supportive end‑of‑life/hospice interactions. However, recurring operational themes include inconsistent staffing levels (particularly at night), variability in clinical coverage after hours, and gaps in communication with families and designated POAs. These patterns have led some families to question medication-management practices, supervision during transfers and exits, and the reliability of assistance with activities of daily living.

Dining and activities are generally cited as strengths: many reviewers applaud the quality and variety of meals, communal dining experiences, and a robust calendar of classes, performances, and outings. At the same time, there are repeated comments about inconsistent meal quality (temperature and freshness) and occasional shortfalls in promised activity programming within the memory‑care neighborhood. Memory care itself receives mixed evaluations: the physical design and small‑neighborhood feel are often described as homelike, yet some families report limited engagement programming and increased isolation in apartment‑style units.

Facilities and operations present a contrast between well‑kept public spaces and uneven unit‑level services. The campus and common areas are frequently described as clean, modern, and well furnished, but there are multiple mentions of inconsistent housekeeping, sanitation issues in some units, and variability in room preparation. Management and leadership receive both praise for responsiveness and criticism for instability; reviewers note active leaders who have made positive impressions alongside concerns about turnover, unclear fee practices, restrictive outside‑care policies, and uneven follow‑through on complaints. A few reviews reference regulatory scrutiny and serious safety incidents; these are best explored directly with the provider and local oversight agencies.

Overall, Meadow Brook offers many of the amenities and social programs sought by prospective residents and families, and it has clear strengths in hospitality, activities, and certain clinical supports. Prospective residents should balance those positives against the operational patterns identified by others: ask specific questions about staffing ratios (especially nights), medication‑management protocols, family notification procedures, memory‑care programming schedules, housekeeping standards, and contract/fee transparency. An in‑person visit during different times of day and conversations with current residents and families can help clarify whether the facility's practical operations align with the positive aspects highlighted by many reviewers.

    About Meadow Brook Senior Living

Meadow Brook Senior Living sits at 11011 Village Square Lane in Fishers, IN, and offers several living options for seniors, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, with age limits often set at 55 or 62 and older. The community's two-story design makes moving around easier, and you'll find a cozy feeling there with friendly staff around the clock for help when needed. Seniors can pick from studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, each made to let in lots of sunlight through big windows. Residents have access to housekeeping and laundry so they don't have to worry about chores, and they can bring their pets along since it's a pet-friendly place.

Meadow Brook's independent living gives active seniors a balance between privacy and community life, with many scheduled activities onsite and out in the community, a fitness center for exercise, and social areas like a library, movie theater, bistro, and meeting rooms for clubs. The outdoor spots include gardening areas and quiet paths around ponds. Assisted living is available for those needing help with dressing, bathing, and managing medicines, with nursing care and on-site health support. Residents have an emergency response system in place for safety, and scheduled transportation helps them keep up with medical appointments or group outings.

Meadow Brook has a strong memory care program for seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia, including a secured memory care center, the Transitional Memory Care Program for mild memory loss, and the VARIETAS® program for those with cognitive conditions. Specially trained staff look after memory care residents day and night, helping them stay safe and as independent as possible. Memory care costs more than regular care, which is common due to the extra support and safety measures.

Dining includes three chef-prepared, restaurant-style meals daily in a dining room known for its home-cooked food, but there's also a European-style bistro for casual eating. For those who like being busy, there's always something going on-fitness classes, movie nights in the theater, gardening, and computer access in the library, plus spiritual services both on and offsite. There are also options for respite care if someone only needs a short stay, and hospice support when required.

The place stays focused on comfort and personal care, letting seniors remain as independent as possible while having staff nearby for help or emergencies. Families often notice the leadership and staff's commitment to each resident's wellness, privacy, and dignity, and the setting with its well-kept grounds and natural surroundings adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Residents and their guests will find plenty of space for parking, wheelchair accessible features, and a beauty salon and spa for a little extra comfort. The community encourages friendships and socializing, with residents seen helping each other or taking part in group activities. Overall, Meadow Brook Senior Living keeps things simple but covers the needs and comfort of seniors, from active adults to those who need special memory care.
