    Welcoming staff, clean private rooms

I moved into Hometown Manor and had a smooth, welcoming transition - my PA was a godsend. The staff are warm and truly caring, the rooms are clean and private with half baths, meals are good, and the porch socials and friendly residents make it feel like home; I'm very satisfied and would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly positive, with repeated praise for the staff, cleanliness, safety, and the comfortable, home-like environment at Hometown Manor Assisted Living Community. Multiple reviewers emphasize the friendliness and caring nature of staff and caregivers, describing them as patient, kind, and genuinely invested in residents' well-being. Several comments highlight that residents are happy, eating better (attributed to the food and care), and that the atmosphere is inviting — warm, welcoming, and comfortable.

Staff and care quality are the most frequently noted strengths. Reviewers consistently describe staff as friendly and compassionate, and some specifically call staff "amazing," "sweet," and the "best staff around." There is also mention of smooth transitions into assisted living: one reviewer reported being connected with a PA assigned to Lawrenceburg Hometown Manor who was described as a "Godsend," indicating effective individualized assistance during move-in. The reviews also note good teamwork and community partnerships (specifically with Heritage Hall), which appears to support continuity of care and an overall positive experience for residents.

Facility-related feedback is favorable. The building is described as clean, and rooms are noted as nice and private, with half baths—details that suggest a comfortable living environment. The community has pleasant common features such as a porch social area and bird activity that contribute to a warm, home-like feel. Safety is called out as a positive, and at least one reviewer specifically mentioned dementia care being available, which broadens the facility’s suitability for residents with cognitive needs.

Dining receives positive remarks: multiple summaries cite "three meals daily" and "good food," with residents reportedly eating more and enjoying the meals. These comments suggest that the dining program is adequate and contributes to residents' satisfaction and health.

Activities are an area with mixed feedback. The facility does offer activities — reviewers mention bingo, holiday crafts, and porch socializing — but several comments characterize the activities as "not a lot" or limited. This indicates that while some programming exists and is appreciated, there may be room to expand the frequency, variety, or engagement level of activities to better meet resident needs.

Administrative and communication issues are the most notable negatives raised across the reviews. Multiple reviewers reported frustrations related to communication and delays with insurance coverage. These problems appear to be separate from frontline caregiving (which is praised) and more related to management or external administrative processes. Such delays and communication lapses can create stress during admission or billing and are the primary area needing improvement according to the reviews.

In conclusion, Hometown Manor Assisted Living Community is portrayed as a clean, safe, and welcoming community with very strong, compassionate staff, private and comfortable rooms, adequate dining, and some activity offerings. It appears particularly well-suited for families seeking attentive caregivers and a homelike environment — including dementia care — and reviewers commonly recommend the facility. Prospective residents and families should be aware of two caveats: the social/activity programming may be limited compared with larger or more activity-focused communities, and administrative/insurance communications can be inconsistent, sometimes causing delays or frustration. Addressing those administrative and activity-programming gaps would likely raise satisfaction even further.
