    Exceptional care, clean facility, concerns

I'm very satisfied overall - exceptionally clean facility, excellent nursing/CNAs, attentive rehab (OT/PT) staff who got my loved one ~90% back and "like a new man," great meals and activities, and kind kitchen/front-line staff. Meds were on time and staff were generally warm and helpful. My only concerns were poor communication at admission and unprofessional behavior from a few managers/admissions staff and some reports of delayed care - worth asking about when you tour. I would return and generally recommend this place.

    About Longmeadow Of Taunton

Longmeadow Of Taunton is a for-profit, licensed skilled nursing facility that sits within a Continuing Care Retirement Community, which means it offers different kinds of living and care options, depending on what the resident needs at the time-whether that's independent living, assisted living, memory care, home care, or full 24-hour skilled nursing. The staff speaks English and helps residents with moving in, daily housekeeping, and managing daily life, like bathing, dressing, and getting around, and the team is known for being helpful and kind. Longmeadow Of Taunton has one hundred certified beds, with twenty-eight beds available in June 2025, and provides transportation, parking, and meal services, with a community dining room, restaurant-style options, private kitchens, and accommodations for special diets such as those for people with allergies or diabetes, all supervised by a chef. Residents live in furnished rooms that come with private bathrooms, cable TV, kitchenettes, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and phones.

The facility stays focused on keeping people involved, holding activities, events, and programs that welcome both families and residents, hoping folks make friends and remain active. The community includes features like a movie theater, game and activity rooms, fitness center, gardens, outdoor walking paths, art rooms, and a library, with staff arranging group outings and events for social and emotional health. Nurses and care providers offer twelve to sixteen hours of on-site nursing every day, along with supervision and a call system that's always available to make sure everyone gets help when they need it.

Medical and therapy services are broad, ranging from wound care and IV antibiotics to speech, occupational, cardiac, orthopedic, physical, and respiratory therapies, plus mental health, podiatry, and pain management. There's a focus on stroke or amputee recovery and programs for people with Alzheimer's and dementia, with secured areas to prevent wandering. Longmeadow accepts both Medicare and Medicaid, is ranked in the top ten percent of all nursing homes nationally, and has received awards for the activities and friendliness of the community. The facility has an accredited A+ rating, stays under the same ownership, and is managed as a limited liability company.

Staff includes registered nurses, CNAs, LPNs, medical directors, therapists, and aides, all of whom aim to support residents through each stage of health or recovery, including post-surgery care, chronic conditions, or rehabilitation. There are patient and resident councils, but not family councils right now, to address concerns and suggest improvements. The community keeps families updated and prides itself on a comfortable, inclusive environment, offering hospice care, short-term rehab, and long-term care. Training and resources for caregivers are available, including certification programs, dementia training, and planning guides to help families choose the right care. The facility aims to balance nutritious meals, safety, and a sense of independence for residents, while building a caring home that welcomes input and involvement from everyone.
