    Felt at home highly recommend

I moved in recently and immediately felt at home. My apartment is lovely and private, staff are kind and welcoming, and nurses are respectful and non-intrusive while competent medical care is available. The facility is clean and well-kept with a pleasant courtyard and plants, meals are high-quality in a familial dining setting, and the community truly values independence. The transition was easy - I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews portray Good Samaritan Society - Bethany very positively. Across the summaries there is a consistent pattern of praise focused on staff demeanor, respect for resident independence, comfortable private living spaces, pleasant outdoor areas, cleanliness, and good food. Multiple reviewers emphasized that the staff are welcoming, kind, and cheerful, and that the community made transitions into the facility easier. No explicit negative issues or consistent concerns were raised in the supplied summaries.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers repeatedly highlight competent medical personnel and nursing staff who are attentive but non-intrusive. Phrases such as "competent medical personnel," "non-intrusive nurses," and "privacy respected by nurses" indicate a balance between providing needed clinical support and preserving resident autonomy. The staff are described as helpful during the move-in/transition process and consistently friendly, which contributes to residents feeling comfortable and secure. This pattern suggests strong day-to-day caregiving and positive interpersonal interactions between staff and residents.

Facilities and living spaces: The facility is described as clean and well-kept, with particular praise for individual apartments or rooms that residents "loved." The environment is characterized as home-like and familial, which, together with private apartments, supports residents' sense of independence and privacy. Outdoor amenities receive specific positive mention: a courtyard, pleasant grassy areas, and plants that create a pleasant outdoor space for residents. These physical attributes appear to reinforce the overall homelike feel and resident satisfaction.

Dining and community life: Dining is repeatedly noted in favorable terms: reviewers mention "high-quality food" and a "familial dining setting," implying both meal quality and a communal mealtime atmosphere that supports social interaction. There are also multiple references to a "supportive resident community" and a "great community," suggesting social compatibility among residents and an environment conducive to friendship and peer support.

Process, recommendation, and patterns: Several summaries use words such as "easy process" and explicitly "recommended," indicating that admission/transition procedures and overall experiences have been straightforward and satisfactory for those reviewers. A notable pattern is the emphasis on independence and privacy—residents and families value that nurses respect privacy and are not intrusive. Repeated praise of staff demeanor, cleanliness, loved apartments, and outdoor areas forms a coherent picture of a well-run community focused on resident comfort and dignity.

Limitations and gaps in the reviews: The supplied summaries are uniformly positive and do not include complaints or negative observations, so the absence of cons in this analysis should be interpreted cautiously. The reviews do not mention certain operational details such as activity programming breadth and frequency, specialized clinical services (e.g., memory care specifics), staffing ratios, costs, or how the facility handles emergencies or after-hours care. For a fuller evaluation, prospective residents or families might ask about those topics during a tour or in follow-up conversations with management.

Conclusion: Based on the provided summaries, Good Samaritan Society - Bethany appears to excel at creating a welcoming, home-like environment with respectful, competent staff; clean, private living spaces; pleasant outdoor areas; and quality dining—resulting in high resident and family satisfaction. The lack of negative comments in these summaries is encouraging but should be balanced by direct questions about unmentioned operational details when making a placement decision.

Good Samaritan Society - Bethany, run by the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society since 2019 and Julie Olson since 2018, has an on-site administrator, Mr. Ryan Cerney. The nonprofit facility has both skilled nursing and nursing home beds, 106 each, though right now the number of certified beds is noted as 79, and it isn't currently taking new patients. Their staff speaks English and offers care tailored to each person, with a focus on both medical and daily living needs, supported by a 24-hour call system, a skilled nursing community with 12-16 hours of daily care, and a nurse turnover rate lower than the state average.

The care team provides long-term care, rehabilitation therapy-both inpatient and outpatient-as well as home care, and has programs for infection control and prevention, though there are some past deficiency reports such as infection-related and pharmacy-related issues, and violations like not following protocols for psychotropic medication reduction. Nursing staff hours per resident per day run a bit under the state average. Residents get priority access to Bethany Care Center for therapy, and the compassionate staff aims to care for the whole person-body, mind, and spirit. The facility has earned the Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award by AHCA/NCAL in both 2020 and 2024. There are both private and social spaces for worship or gathering, well-kept grounds with controlled security access, and a full range of options meant to support an active, social, and comfortable lifestyle. No specialty beds-like psychiatric or hospital-are listed, and services focus broadly on senior and assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home-based care, and caregiver support, all within a smoke-free, modern environment in Crow Wing County.
