    Kind attentive staff spotless facility

I placed my mom here and have been very pleased. The staff are kind, attentive and respectful - care feels high-quality and dignified. The building is bright, cheery and spotless with lovely spaces like a four-season porch, gazebo, walking paths, library and on-site services. Meals are chef-prepared with many choices served in a proper dining room (real linens) and snacks are available throughout the day. Residents are happy, the community feels home-like and secure, and I wholeheartedly recommend Sunrise of Roseville.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The community presents as a well-appointed, home-like assisted living/memory-care campus with many features families value: bright, clean interiors; a variety of common spaces; outdoor areas; an on-site bistro and multiple dining options; and a visible social calendar. Many families highlight warm admissions, empathetic caregivers, and strong day-to-day personal attention that contribute to a positive resident experience.

Care and clinical operations: Nursing and medication support are available on-site and are frequently praised for empathy and clinical competence. At the same time, a pattern of operational weaknesses appears across reviews: inconsistent staffing levels (especially evenings and weekends), use of agency personnel, and turnover in leadership have been associated with delayed call responses and episodic gaps in care. More serious clinical concerns described by a few families — including wound and infection follow-up and medication-refill coordination failures — indicate the importance of asking about pharmacy processes, medication administration protocols, and contingency staffing during a tour.

Staff and management: Direct-care staff are commonly described as kind, capable, and resident-focused; several accounts highlight caregivers who go above and beyond and clear examples of good communication and family engagement. However, reviewers also describe a history of executive turnover, staffing shortages, and variable supervisory follow-through. These management-level issues correlate with inconsistent program delivery (activities, dining) and occasional lapses in housekeeping or maintenance responsiveness.

Dining and activities: Dining is a strength for many residents — with chef-prepared meals, accommodations for dietary preferences, private dining options, and frequent snack availability — though meal quality and service staffing are described as variable, particularly following staff or chef changes. The activity program is broad and includes crafts, themed events, parties, outings, movies and therapy services; yet several accounts note reduced programming or limited offerings in the memory-care unit at times. Prospective residents who prioritize a particularly active lifestyle or a structured memory-care regimen should confirm current activity schedules and memory-care programming during a visit.

Facilities and amenities: The facility is repeatedly described as attractive, bright and well-maintained, with generous outdoor spaces, a four-season porch, and convenient on-site services (therapy, salon, podiatry). Apartment layouts range from compact studios to larger suites; some families found certain unit sizes too small or lacking kitchenettes. Practical considerations include limited visitor parking, a small back lot, and entry access issues during poor weather — items that may affect frequent visitors.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The reviews show a polarized pattern — many families report excellent, compassionate care and a comfortable environment, while a subset report operational failures with meaningful consequences. Key areas to investigate in person are staffing ratios by shift, turnover history, medication/pharmacy procedures, housekeeping/laundry reliability, memory-care activity availability, and entry/parking logistics. Asking for recent staffing metrics, an up-to-date activity calendar, sample menus, and examples of how the community handles pharmacy refills and after-hours clinical needs will help families assess whether the community’s strengths align with their loved one’s needs.

    About New Perspective Rosedale

New Perspective Rosedale sits just north of the Rosedale Shopping Center, only a short drive from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, and folks here find a range of senior living choices, including assisted living, memory care, and independent living, plus some options like respite care, long-term skilled nursing, hospice, adult day services, and Medicare-certified home health care. Residents pick from roomy floor plans for studios, one-bedrooms, or companion apartments, all with private bathrooms and the convenience of on-site washers and dryers in the apartments, and the whole place gives off a cozy and friendly feeling as soon as you step into the lobby. Staff create personalized care plans and help with daily things like bathing, dressing, and medication, and nurses stay on-site or on-call around the clock, so help's always nearby. Memory care has programs for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, using therapies and activities aimed at mental engagement and comfort, and there's a secured courtyard to help folks feel safe, too.

Each day, Life Engagement Managers plan community activities like gardening, happy hours, card games, social events, weekly summer pontoon cruises, and field trips into the neighborhood, and there's always something happening for anyone who wants to join. There's a big dining room where chefs make scratch-cooked comfort food from fresh ingredients, and residents can choose to eat in the family private dining rooms if they want a quieter meal with visitors. On the practical side, housekeeping and laundry services come standard, transportation helps folks reach medical appointments and outings, and there's pretty much every amenity you'd want, like a fitness room, a gaming room, outdoor patio, library, beauty salon, computer center, and Wi-Fi throughout the building. Residents' pets can come along, too, since both cats and dogs are welcome. Some need short-term care, so New Perspective Rosedale's got respite options to help caregivers get a needed break, and for those who want to keep busy, there are devotional services, educational programs, and chances to try new hobbies.

Everyone can make new friends in the common spaces or relax in the garden patio, and staff work hard to promote well-being-physical, mental, and emotional-whether through on-site physical and occupational therapy, easy access to professional medical care via Curana Health partners, or joining in daily exercise classes. New Perspective Rosedale holds awards like Best of Senior Living and Best Activities in Senior Living, standing out for friendly, helpful staff and a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Tours of the community are available if you want to see the daily life, dining, and activities up close, and the staff provide helpful resources for seniors, caregivers, and families looking to make an informed choice.
