    Summary of reviews

Hayden Grove Senior Living - St. Anthony elicits consistently strong praise for its physical environment, dining program, and frontline staff. Many families and residents describe a bright, well-designed building with spacious, sunlit apartments and attractive common areas. Culinary offerings are frequently highlighted as a strength — chef-driven menus, themed and festive meals, and accommodations such as gluten-free options were noted. The site also offers an integrated continuum of care, including a secured memory-care unit and on-site clinical services such as in-room X-ray and EKG access, which some families find convenient.

Staffing and the interpersonal tone of care are among the most frequently cited positive attributes. Multiple reviewers complimented compassionate, attentive team members, friendly reception staff, prompt responses to concerns, and a welcoming move-in and tour process. Reviewers commonly describe a strong sense of community, active socialization, and a broad activities schedule that supports residents’ social and physical engagement — regular classes, games, outings, and special events are mentioned positively.

At the same time, a distinct pattern of operational concerns appears across reviews. Staffing levels and clinical coverage are the most prominent issues: reviewers describe limited nurse availability (notably constrained to weekday hours in some accounts), thin aide coverage in the memory-care unit at times, and a perception that supervision and training for direct-care staff are inconsistent. These conditions are linked in several accounts to delays in care, gaps in fall-prevention or supervision, and dissatisfaction with how some behavioral or clinical issues are characterized and communicated to families. A reliance on camera- or motion-based monitoring rather than continuous direct observation is also noted as a contributing factor to family concern about supervision.

Service delivery issues are another recurring theme. While food quality is praised, there are reports of meal-service continuity problems — meals arriving cold or sitting in the kitchen before delivery — that indicate operational lapses in the service model. Financial and administrative practices have also generated concern: reviewers describe contested charges, disagreement over notice and billing policies, and at least one allegation relating to post-death billing practices; these items have prompted escalation to regional leadership in some cases.

Overall, the facility appears to deliver a high-quality residential experience for many residents, particularly in hospitality, dining, environment, and social programming. However, prospective residents and families should evaluate clinical staffing levels, dementia-programming specifics, supervision practices, and the facility’s billing and communication procedures during tours and contract discussions. Asking for current staffing ratios for memory care, nurse coverage hours, examples of dementia-specific activity programming, fall-prevention protocols, and a clear written explanation of billing and notice policies will help clarify whether the day-to-day operational model matches expectations.
