    Lovely grounds and caring staff

I toured during COVID and felt comfortable meeting the friendly, helpful staff - the grounds are lovely, the place feels safe, secure and very clean. Meals are available (noon option and apartment delivery) though my mom likes to cook; activities are plentiful, posted and require signup/social distancing, snacks are even hung on doors - small apartments but great people, excellent care and very good value; I highly recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive. Multiple reviewers emphasize that Benedict Village provides excellent care, a very clean and well-maintained environment, and friendly, helpful staff. The community is described as safe, secure, and conveniently located. Several comments such as "highly recommend" and "great people" point to broad satisfaction among residents and families. The physical grounds and common areas are repeatedly noted as well kept, which supports the perception of solid facility management and upkeep.

Care quality and staff interactions are standout themes. Reviewers explicitly mention "excellent care" and praise the staff as friendly and helpful, indicating staff performance and resident support are consistent strengths. Staff availability for tours even during COVID and the ability to meet staff during the tour suggest management prioritized accessibility and safety while maintaining personal contact. The overall tone around caregiving is positive and reassuring to prospective residents and families.

Facilities and apartment features receive mixed but mostly favorable comments. The community is described as very clean and safe, with well-kept grounds and an overall small, close-knit feel. A practical benefit noted by multiple reviewers is that apartments allow self-cooking — one reviewer specifically mentioned their mother still cooks for herself — which indicates kitchen-equipped units or at least kitchen access that supports independent living. The most commonly cited facility drawback is the small size of the apartments, which may be a limiting factor for residents seeking larger living spaces.

Dining and food services are presented as flexible but with some caveats. Reviewers mention that noon meal service is available and that meals can be delivered to apartments, which is a convenience especially during COVID precautions. At the same time, it is explicitly noted that the noon meal is offered at an additional charge; this extra cost may be a consideration for budget-conscious residents. The availability of delivered meals and supplemental dining options is a positive, particularly for those who need or prefer in-room dining, but transparency around cost appears important based on reviewer comments.

Activities and social programming are clearly active parts of community life. Several reviewers note that there are always activities and that postings advertise events. Reviewers also describe personal touches during COVID (for example, snacks placed on residents' doors), which suggests staff made extra efforts to maintain social contact and morale. A recurring operational constraint is that activities during the pandemic required sign-up and were managed with social distancing, meaning capacity and spontaneity were limited. While activities are frequent and well-advertised, the need to register and adhere to distancing protocols can reduce ease of participation for some residents.

Management, communication, and value perception come through positively. Reviewers report clear postings for activities and good communication about events, and several statements emphasize that the facility represents good value for money. The combination of strong care, cleanliness, convenient location, and engaged staff creates a perception of high overall value. The main patterns of concern relate to the physical size of apartments and pandemic-related activity restrictions, plus the fact that some meal services carry extra fees. These caveats are relatively limited in scope compared with the overall praise across reviews.

In summary, Benedict Village is perceived as a clean, safe, and well-managed senior living option with caring staff, active programming, and practical dining choices. It is particularly strong in staff responsiveness, facility upkeep, and creating a small-community atmosphere. Prospective residents should be aware of smaller apartment footprints and potential extra costs for certain meal services, and should expect some activity limitations when public health measures are in effect. Overall, reviewers frequently recommend the community and express high satisfaction with the care and people at Benedict Village.

    About Benedict Village

Benedict Village | An Ecumen Living Space sits in St. Cloud on a quiet campus surrounded by park land right near the Mississippi River, so folks get wooded views, fresh air, and easy access to town for shopping or parks or just a simple walk, and that always seems to help people feel more at home, especially with the design focusing on keeping seniors comfortable and safe. The community welcomes people aged 55 and better, offering maintenance-free living in apartments set up with senior-friendly bathrooms, full kitchens, air conditioning, and internet, and the homes stay affordable for folks looking for good value. Meals are made with quality ingredients, music and laughter flow through rooms and eating spaces, and there's restaurant-style dining, so residents can sit with neighbors, invite guests, and enjoy daily life.

Benedict Village has care at nearly every level, so you'll see independent living, assisted living, memory care for people with dementia or Alzheimer's, skilled nursing, respite services for caregivers who need a break, and hospice care called Mosaic Moments if people need comfort in later years, and the team works hard to adjust support as needs change, which means someone can age in place without moving away from their friends and favorite staff. Helpers come by every day for chores like bathing, dressing, medication, and whatever else might come up-always kind, cheerful, and steady-because the staff here, part of the Ecumen network, get recognized for being thoughtful and helpful without rushing anyone.

Special programs fill the schedule, with activities designed to help people stay active, independent, and connected-nobody's pushed, but everyone gets the chance to join in social gatherings, outings, chapel services, education, or memory-boosting games. Residents living in memory care enjoy 24-hour attention, secure spaces built to prevent wandering, and activities aimed at keeping minds sharp and bodies moving, and there's constant medical care for those who need skilled nursing or extra health monitoring, including diabetic and incontinence care, rehabilitation, and wound support. Transportation and parking make trips out easy, and public transit's close by too, if independence matters.

So many little things come together at Benedict Village-a nature-filled spot, easy-to-make friends, simple privacy for those who like quiet, and a faith-based tradition for those who find comfort in spiritual care. The community even welcomes volunteers, offers special programs for adult day care, therapy, and home care, and lets families and future residents view photos of the rooms and grounds before deciding. The campus aims for dignity and choice, not just in rooms or meals, but in a whole way of life, so every person can settle in, feel at ease, and enjoy retirement with good support and just enough freedom.
