    Renovated Catholic senior facility praised

I'm overall very pleased with this renovated, Catholic senior living facility open to all - the staff are kind, considerate and knowledgeable, and my mother is extremely happy there. Rooms and common areas are clean and spacious, there's a well-equipped rehab room with excellent PT/OT, a separate dining room with a reliable meal plan, and lots of weekly activities plus transportation support. The director is attentive and medications are handled thoroughly and on time; I would recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

St. Mary's Village presents a mixed but generally favorable picture for prospective residents seeking rehabilitation services, memory care, or apartment-style living. Positive aspects repeatedly include respectful nursing, a clear medication review process at admission, and reliable on-time medication administration. The facility's therapy services receive strong praise: physical and occupational therapy programs and a rehab room with appropriate equipment are seen as clinical strengths. Leadership is also commonly described as informed and approachable, which contributes to overall confidence among families.

Staff performance is a central theme with a split profile. Many families describe staff as kind, considerate, and effective—particularly therapists and several nurses—contributing to a home-like atmosphere and high resident satisfaction in parts of the community. However, there are consistent operational concerns around staff training and interpersonal engagement. Gaps in CNA training and variability in staff communication tone are cited as issues that can affect day-to-day resident experience. Additionally, while medication administration is frequently timely, there are noted weaknesses in internal medication-handling processes that warrant attention to ensure consistent safety and best practices.

Dining, activities, and social life are strengths in several respects. The dining room and meal plans are viewed positively, and the campus offers a variety of weekly activities along with transportation and outing support. Residents in units described as home-like tend to be highly satisfied and engaged. At the same time, activity and dining spaces are described as small in places, which may limit the scale or variety of programming for larger groups.

The physical plant shows contrasts between renovated and older areas. Cleanliness and absence of odor are emphasized as positives, and renovated rehab spaces are modern and well-equipped. Conversely, some private rooms and bathrooms are small, and certain wings retain an older, more institutional appearance. These differences appear to create variability in resident experience depending on unit assignment.

Management and value propositions are generally positive: leadership is frequently praised and the community is positioned as a lower-cost alternative to other options in the area. Families who prioritized rehabilitation services, attentive therapy staff, and a clean environment tended to view St. Mary's Village favorably. The notable patterns are therefore a core clinical strength in therapy and nursing leadership, paired with operational areas for improvement—specifically medication-handling protocols, CNA training, and space constraints in some units. Prospective residents and families should tour multiple units, ask about recent quality-improvement steps related to medication safety and staff training, and verify the size and layout of available apartments to match preferences for privacy and communal programming.

    About St. Mary's Village

St. Mary's Village is a Catholic senior living community that welcomes people of all faiths, and it sits as a place where residents find warmth, independence, and security. The community provides many care types, including independent living for active seniors, assisted living if you need daily help, skilled nursing for those who need more serious medical care, and memory care with specialized support for those living with dementia or Alzheimer's. There's a memory care unit with special safety features, and experienced staff can help with medication management, bathing, dressing, transfers, and diabetes care, and caregivers are there around the clock, so there's always someone nearby during emergencies. You'll see that St. Mary's Village offers short-term respite care, so caregivers can take a break while residents have a safe place to stay, and you'll find physical, occupational, and speech therapy available six days a week with a team aiming to help people get stronger after surgery, illness, or injury.

St. Mary's Village has a range of housing, including studio apartments and larger units, all furnished with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable television, WiFi, and phone service, and there's air conditioning, plus you're allowed to bring some pets, though cats aren't allowed. Inside, you can spend time in a library, fitness room, computer center, movie theater, café, beauty salon, and even the Fireside Grille with a patio and fire pit, and if you're hungry, you get three daily meals in the dining room, or you can have in-room service a few times a month, with a menu tailored for special diets, allergies, and diabetes. There's a wellness center, spa, outdoor gardens, game room, and there are walking paths for fresh air, as well as a chapel for those who wish to attend religious services, and when you want to go out, you can use the community's transportation for appointments or shopping.

St. Mary's staff include a nurse (part-time), therapists, and people specially trained for memory care, and there's a 24-hour call system in place, housekeeping and laundry service are included, and staff help with personal care and daily activities. Activities are scheduled every day, including outings, exercise classes, arts and crafts, and resident-led events, and life enrichment programs aim to keep everyone engaged mentally, physically, and socially. There are programs for caregivers, field trips, walking groups, music programs, movies, and game nights, plus the community has offsite activities so residents aren't stuck at home. If you like convenience, there are snack and beverage stations, and a LuxeCafé serves Starbucks coffee and grab-and-go items. If you need extra support, there's help with basic needs like bathing, laundry, and medication reminders, and if you're coming from the hospital, short- and long-term rehabilitation is available with specialized clinical programs for heart health, stroke recovery, and more.

St. Mary's Village is part of a group that offers consulting and marketing support but doesn't own or run the homes, and at this campus you'll find a range of services like concierge support, a Director of Hospitality, a resident information portal for families, and help with move-in coordination. People can use VA benefits, including Aid and Attendance, to help cover costs, and there's a full range of options from independent apartments and 55+ communities for active folks to nursing care and home care for those needing extra support. The facility uses telehealth technology for quick doctor access, has an on-site pharmacy, and offers safety checks, in-home therapy, and home safety evaluations if you plan to return home after a hospital stay. There are private suites with memory foam beds, hotel linens, and hospitality tablets for in-room service, and if you need a shared care home or live-in caregiver, that's available too.

St. Mary's Village aims to help people live safely and comfortably, whether you need a little help or a lot, and the tools and services are there to help residents stay independent as long as possible, surrounded by a caring team in a lively, well-equipped setting.
