    Spotless boutique assisted living, comforting

I toured several places and chose this small, boutique-style assisted living - spotless, beautifully decorated rooms with large windows and walk-in baths, easy to navigate on one level. The staff are warm, attentive, and go above and beyond (special thanks to Katlynn); activities are engaging, the community is intimate, and I have real peace of mind for my loved one.

    Summary of reviews

Mattis Pointe Senior Living is consistently described as a clean, recently updated, apartment-style assisted living community with resort-like finishes and pleasant outdoor spaces. Units are frequently characterized as spacious with wide doorways, private baths, walk-in closets and abundant natural light; the campus includes amenity spaces such as a beauty shop, theater/TV room, gardens and outdoor seating that support socialization. Reviewers emphasize an engaging activities program—multiple activity staff, varied on- and off-site outings, and frequent social programming—that many families find valuable for resident life and engagement.

Care experiences are mixed. Numerous accounts praise frontline caregivers as friendly, compassionate and willing to go above and beyond, and some departments show long tenure and continuity. The community advertises bundled, all-inclusive pricing with basic care services included (bathing assistance, medications, and transport support), which appeals to families seeking a single-fee model. At the same time, multiple reviewers describe operational strains: staffing capacity that feels insufficient for resident needs, periodic medication-administration delays, and specific transfer-safety limitations (notably limited mechanical-lift availability), which can affect residents with mobility or higher-acuity requirements.

Dining feedback ranges from appreciation of the dining rooms and staff convenience to concerns about inconsistent food quality and limited variety. Families noted occasional menu choices that felt incongruent with the venue’s upscale ambiance, and some described repetitive or thin meal options. Transportation and errand support are viewed positively as a convenience feature.

Management and oversight emerge as the area with the greatest divergence. While some reviewers commend thorough managers and low turnover, other accounts describe administrative instability, departures of key leaders, and uneven responsiveness to clinical or family concerns. Several families expressed worry about property-security processes and the handling of personal belongings, as well as perceived gaps in monitoring and follow-up despite installed cameras. Concerns about staff conduct and communication tone — including families feeling insufficiently informed after critical events — were raised and contributed to decisions by some to transition residents elsewhere.

Overall, Mattis Pointe appears to offer a high-quality physical environment with strong social programming and many attentive caregivers. Prospective residents and families should weigh these strengths against operational considerations: verify current leadership stability, ask about staffing ratios and lift/transfer protocols, review medication-administration procedures, inspect security and personal-property controls, and request specifics on billing/fee transparency. Those priorities will help determine whether the community’s environment and activity offerings align with the resident’s long-term clinical and safety needs.

    About Mattis Pointe Senior Living

Mattis Pointe Senior Living sits in Saint Louis, Missouri, in a single-story building, and offers a range of care for seniors with options like independent living, assisted living, memory care through The Arbors at Mattis Pointe, home care, short-term respite care, rehabilitation, adult day club, and hospice care, so folks really do find a fit for different needs as they change. The community welcomes pets and has studio, alcove, and one-bedroom apartments that include bathrooms and air conditioning, plus an emergency call system and access to 24-hour personal help for things like bathing, dressing, meal prep, and medication management. Common areas and indoor lounges give folks spots to gather, and the private dining room can be used for special meals or visits with family. Meals cooked by chefs are nutritious and planned to fit dietary needs, and the team handles all the housekeeping. Hair and nail salon, an on-site beauty spot, offers services, which is handy for many seniors, and the whole campus features features such as safety systems, and the apartments come with full private baths and air conditioning.

Mattis Pointe Senior Living offers a schedule full of activities-on-site games, devotional time, social events, and trips off campus-so no one needs to feel isolated, and there are programs meant for all interests and ability levels. Transportation, free for medical appointments at places like St. Anthony's Medical Center and Barnes Jewish South Campus Hospital, makes getting to the doctor easier, which is important when arranging rides feels tough. The staff, known for reliability and skill, help with diabetic care, incontinence care, and non-ambulatory care, and work to tailor support for both independence and safety. The Arbors at Mattis Pointe focuses on memory care, using programs and activities that meet the daily needs of folks with memory loss, and the community design aims for comfort and a sense of home, not just a campus. Mattis Pointe accepts Medicaid, and has a person-first approach, trying hard to notice what matters most to each resident. The campus is privately owned, is not BBB accredited, and doesn't claim perfection, but offers an environment where seniors can age with some comfort, routine, and the help they need, whether that's for a short stay or a longer one. The website and virtual tours offer more detail if someone wants to look before visiting in person.
