    Personalized inpatient rehab exceptional care

I was very pleased with the personalized, high-quality care my family member received - attentive nurses and CNAs, skilled therapists, and doctors who checked in regularly. The therapy team got real results (improved walking and strength), administration and admissions were helpful, and the front-desk and dining staff were friendly with excellent, plentiful meals. The facility felt clean, safe and family-like; staff consistently went above and beyond and kept us informed. I would happily recommend Dellridge for in-patient rehab.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Dellridge Health & Rehabilitation Center is characterized by a strong clinical and rehabilitative focus with many families and patients praising nursing staff, CNAs, and therapy teams. The facility earns consistent commendation for physical and occupational therapy outcomes, wound and medical care oversight, and active social-work involvement in discharge planning and family communication. A number of reviewers describe the atmosphere as family-like and personalized, and many highlight renovations, clean communal spaces, and proactive administrative engagement as strengths.

Care and staff: The dominant theme in feedback is staff competence and compassion. Nursing teams and nursing assistants receive frequent praise for attentive bedside care, and therapists are repeatedly credited with achieving measurable functional gains. Social workers, admissions personnel, and administrative leaders are also noted for facilitating transitions and keeping families informed. That said, reviewers describe variability across shifts: while day teams are often described as responsive and proactive, some evening or overnight shifts were associated with slower response times and less consistent engagement. Concerns clustered around inconsistent conduct and responsiveness rather than uniform clinical failure.

Dining and activities: Dining services are often described positively for presentation, portion size, and flexibility for dietary needs; several families singled out accessible dietary staff who accommodated special requests. Conversely, there is variability in meal quality over time, with some accounts of bland or poorly executed meals. The activities program is a clear asset for many residents — with arts and crafts, themed events, daily social groups, and therapy-animal visits contributing to engagement and morale.

Facilities and operations: The building presents a mixed picture. Many areas are clean and well maintained, and ongoing renovations have improved therapy spaces and rooms for some residents. However, reviewers note crowding in therapy gyms while construction continues, intermittent maintenance issues in individual rooms, and isolated sanitation and pest-control concerns. Communication systems also draw criticism: families cite a frustrating phone system and occasional difficulty reaching staff or receiving timely physician updates.

Management and operational patterns: Administrative responsiveness is frequently cited as a positive; admissions and leadership staff receive favorable mentions for problem-solving and family outreach. Operational weaknesses that recur across feedback include inconsistent staffing levels, gaps in medication administration and pain management processes, and breakdowns during discharge planning or physician communication. A small number of isolated but serious allegations (including post-acute adverse events and end-of-life concerns) appear in the feedback; these elevate the importance of careful family advocacy and active care coordination during stays.

What prospective families should consider: Dellridge shows clear strengths in rehabilitation outcomes, compassionate direct-care staff, and an engaging activities and dining environment for many residents. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against variability in staffing and some operational weaknesses. When considering admission, ask specific questions about staffing ratios on relevant shifts, dementia-care capabilities if relevant, medication-administration safeguards, discharge-planning processes, and how the facility manages ongoing renovations. For those who cannot regularly advocate or visit, clarifying communication expectations and escalation pathways with administrative and social-work teams before admission is advisable.

About Dellridge Health & Rehabilitation Center

Dellridge Health & Rehabilitation Center operates as a skilled nursing facility at 532 N Farview Ave, Paramus, NJ 07652, though it currently isn't accepting new patients, and English is the main language spoken by staff. The facility mainly serves older adults who need long-term care, rehabilitation, or special medical support, offering a broad range of care like skilled nursing, memory care, palliative care, hospice, respite services, post-surgical care, orthopedic services, subacute rehab, and stroke recovery, and it supports transition to home for those ready to leave. Staff stay around all day and night and include RNs, RPNs, CNAs, advanced nurse practitioners, food and nutrition teams, therapists, and housekeeping, and there's a focus on detail, like igloo water coolers in every hallway, but some rooms have issues like stained or ripped sheets, worn mattresses, and dirty blinds.

Residents get help with medication management, diabetes therapy, infusion therapy, respiratory services, wound care, and complicated illness recovery, with things like individual piped-in oxygen and tracheostomy care also available. The center gives support for knee and hip replacement recovery, cardiac and pulmonary rehab-including a program called Connect™ Cardiac/Pulmonary Program-nutritional counseling, pain management, diabetic support, oncology care, urology care, and pre-discharge education for families and residents. Recreational activities come in all forms, with daily programs, art and music therapy, outings, many parties, entertainment, religious services, games, pet therapy, and even gardening or cooking clubs along with plenty of barbeques outdoors to bring folks together.

Dining happens in one of three comfortable rooms, each prepared by a chef, and the building offers private and semi-private rooms along with therapy rooms and common spaces for activities. The site design has no stairs or elevators, which helps people move around more freely, and outside areas give space to enjoy patios with cedar chairs and gardens. Indoors, the cozy living room has comfy seating, a fireplace, fish tanks, and even an aviary of Lady Gouldian Finches, and the space uses decor like a mature willow and pine paneling to try to keep things warm and friendly. The center is part of the Family of Caring Healthcare System, which is a family-owned company running several locations across New Jersey, and their mission points to service, compassion, and respect for the elderly and disabled. The staff follow individualized care plans and work to get the best rehab results possible, keeping a high staff-to-client ratio so each resident can get more personal care, and they bring in specialists like a physiatrist and registered dietitian.

Though the website mentions a welcoming environment, high standards, and good outcomes, some facilities show wear and could use updating. The center's received strong reviews from state health inspections and offers emergency management information and resources. Dellridge Health & Rehabilitation Center doesn't boast-services and resources are varied, and staff are dedicated, but like most older places, it has some issues mixed in with its strengths.
