    Warm staff, spotless home, engaging

I placed my mother here and have been very pleased. The staff - nurses, caregivers and administration - are warm, communicative and genuinely caring, the building and grounds are spotless and home-like, and activities (live music, outings and holiday events) keep residents engaged. Meals and services are solid, management is responsive, and I'd recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Evergreen Place presents a mixed but informative picture for prospective residents and families. Many reviewers describe a warm, family-like community with bright, apartment-style units, accessible grounds, and an active social calendar. Strengths commonly cited include compassionate caregiving staff, appealing chef-led dining, on-site therapy services, and a variety of activities and outings that support social engagement. The facility's physical plant — including recent renovations, large windows, and outdoor walking areas — is frequently praised and appeals to residents seeking an airy, apartment atmosphere.

Care quality and staffing are recurring themes with divergent experiences. Numerous families express strong satisfaction with individual caregivers, nurses, and directors who provided attentive, personalized support. At the same time, a pattern of chronic staffing shortages and frequent turnover is evident across accounts; these operational pressures are associated with slower response times to call signals, inconsistent bedside attentiveness, and periodic lapses in routine care. Reviewers also describe variability in medication administration and clinical follow-up; while some medication issues were corrected promptly, others point to gaps in clinical processes and communication during acute events.

Dining and activities are generally regarded as assets, with many residents enjoying daily meals, snacks, and social dining. The facility offers a broad activity program—music, crafts, field trips, live performances, and small-group options—that supports engagement for active residents. That said, reviewers note uneven meal quality and interruptions to kitchen service at times, which suggests meal-service continuity can fluctuate. Memory-care programming is available but described as inconsistent: some families report warm, individualized attention and successful social adjustment, while others cite limited targeted activities, leadership gaps in the memory unit, and concerns about whether the unit meets more advanced needs.

Facility operations show strengths and weaknesses. Physical amenities, accessible design, and transportation services are positives. Conversely, housekeeping and sanitation practices appear unevenly enforced: examples include irregular linen changes, delayed laundry, and occasional sanitation concerns in rooms or common areas. Renovations have improved aesthetics but have also been a source of confusion and disruption for some families. Security and privacy are notable concerns for a subset of reviewers—there are serious allegations involving theft and unauthorized room access that warrant direct inquiry during a tour.

Management and communication emerge as important differentiators. Positive accounts highlight responsive directors and helpful admissions staff; negative accounts describe inconsistent communication, difficulty reaching supervisors on weekends or after hours, and unmet expectations when additional services were purchased. Transport coordination and post-incident family notification were also cited as areas needing clearer protocol and reliability.

Overall pattern: Evergreen Place offers many of the amenities and social opportunities families look for in assisted living and memory care, and many residents thrive there. However, operational weaknesses — especially staffing instability, inconsistent housekeeping, medication and incident-response gaps, and occasional security/privacy concerns — create variability in day-to-day experience. Prospective families should tour multiple times, meet direct-care staff and the memory-care leadership, ask about current staffing ratios and weekend supervision, review medication and incident-response procedures, and inquire about security measures and the renovation timeline to assess whether the facility's strengths align with their care priorities.

    About Evergreen Place

Evergreen Place gives older adults a setting where they can live comfortably as they age, offering support that grows with their changing needs, and you'll see right away that the apartments, which include both studio and one-bedroom floor plans, have features like walk-in showers, kitchenettes with microwaves and refrigerators, individually controlled heat and air, and lots of closet space so you can bring your things and settle in, and the staff handles the regular tasks like weekly cleaning, personal and linen laundry, and all that heavier yard or property maintenance, so people spend more time doing what they enjoy, like relaxing in the sun-filled courtyard, strolling along paved walking paths, or tending raised garden beds, and if you like having company, you'll notice the community welcomes pets and offers pet therapy and even pet care for those who need a little extra help. There's a strong focus on meals, with three daily ones served in an elegant restaurant-style dining room with round tables, cream tablecloths, and big windows bringing in the light, while snacks and drinks are always on hand, and if you want a change of scenery, scheduled transportation is available for off-site trips to places like museums, casinos, or festivals, along with visits to doctor appointments. Life here stays busy and engaging, with fitness and wellness classes, arts and crafts, movie nights, game nights, visits from musicians and authors, and social gatherings, plus adapted evidence-based fitness and brain games for those who want to stay sharp, and there's even neuroplasticity therapy and brain-enhancing meals as part of their health programs. The property has practical features, like elevators, a billiards room, a cozy library, a recreational room, and a salon with barber chairs and hair dryers, so residents look and feel their best, and those who like a quiet moment can read or visit with friends beside the piano or fireplace. People who need more help get around-the-clock assistance from dedicated caregivers with things like bathing, dressing, managing medicine, and moving safely from room to room or to the dining area, and the staff regularly checks how residents are doing, working from personalized care plans. For those living with memory impairments, there's a secure area with its own common spaces and a specialized program called Connections focused on evidence-based dementia care, and wellness assessments happen on a regular basis to catch any changes in health. Evergreen Place lets residents keep their independence while offering a community that can manage almost any level of care, from active, independent living to skilled nursing, making it easier to stay in the same place as needs change.
