      Superb caring staff and atmosphere

I'm very pleased with the care my husband receives here - staff are superb, caring, and consistently go above and beyond. The atmosphere is cheerful and comfortable, with nutritious, well-planned lunches and activities (including delightful intergenerational time with the attached daycare) and exceptional transportation. Individualized attention, strong personal relationships, and a genuinely hospitable ethos make this a first-rate resource I highly recommend.

      Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment Reviews of My Second Home (Mt. Kisco) are uniformly and strongly positive. Across the summaries, reviewers repeatedly emphasize exceptional staff commitment and a caring culture. Words and phrases such as "unbelievable staff commitment," "staff superb," and "ethos of the highest order" indicate that reviewers see the staff as the defining strength of the program. There is also strong and repeated mention of close, affectionate personal relationships between staff and attendees, suggesting consistent, personal attention rather than purely transactional care.

Care quality and staff behavior Care quality is highlighted as high in multiple summaries. Reviewers describe care as understanding, individualized, and delivered with staff who go "above and beyond." Multiple comments point to staff doing more than expected and providing stimulation and engagement that reviewers rate as extraordinary. Anecdotal indicators of resident well‑being—such as a spouse or participant being "eager to go"—support the assessment that care both meets medical/physical needs and promotes emotional and social wellbeing. The consistent language of praise and repeated recommendation by families indicates strong trust in the staff and the care model.

Programs, activities, and intergenerational interaction Activity programming is singled out as a major positive. Summaries mention flexible daily offerings, well‑planned activities, and a variety of events that are stimulating for attendees. The attached children's daycare is a distinctive feature mentioned several times; reviewers note meaningful intergenerational interaction that contributes to the atmosphere and stimulation. This combination—structured, varied programming plus regular contact with children—appears to be a unique selling point and a source of considerable family satisfaction.

Food, transportation, and atmosphere Dining and logistical services receive clear positive mention. Meals are described as nutritious and healthy, and reviewers explicitly praise the lunches. Transportation is called "exceptional," indicating reliability and convenience for families and attendees. The environment is characterized as cheerful and comfortable, and hospitality is a recurring theme. These operational strengths (food, transport, welcoming atmosphere) complement the praised caregiving and programming, producing a holistic positive experience for attendees and their families.

Management, reliability, and gaps in reported concerns Management and organizational culture are portrayed indirectly through reviewer comments about staff ethos, planning, and hospitality. The summaries imply a stable, well‑led operation where staff are empowered to provide individualized care and engage attendees. Importantly, the provided review summaries contain no substantive negative points or criticisms; reviewers repeatedly state they are "very pleased" and "highly recommend" the facility. That absence of reported concerns in these summaries should be read as a positive signal but also with the caveat that this dataset is uniformly positive and may not reflect the full range of experiences. In short, the dominant themes are outstanding staff, individualized and stimulating programming (including intergenerational activities), reliable transportation, nutritious meals, and high family satisfaction, with no notable complaints mentioned in the provided summaries.

About My Second Home Mt. Kisco

My Second Home (Mt. Kisco) sits at 95 Radio Circle Drive and has been around since 1998 as a non-profit adult day care that helps seniors, including folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, by giving them a safe, supervised place to spend the day, and it does this with secure entry and exit points, round-the-clock supervision, and trained memory care staff who help with daily needs like meals, medication, and personal care, and they even offer respite care to give family caregivers a break. The facility's unique because it's got the JEWEL Program that connects seniors with children from The Mt. Kisco Child Care Center for shared activities like stories, music, gardening, and art, which really builds connections across generations, and they offer other activities like yoga, stretching, and celebration of special occasions. Seniors have the choice between private or semi-private living arrangements, and folks there can enjoy secure outdoor areas for some fresh air when they want it. They also help with transportation, so everyone can get where they need to go, and the nutrition program, Feed Me Fresh, serves up healthy meals and snacks. The staff really seem to know what they're doing, with background in geriatric care and lots of experience handling memory loss and dementia. The center gives information and resources about different senior housing options and services, like independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, companion care, and memory care, helping families find what's right for them, and the place's got adult day care services where seniors join others for social activities during the day before heading home. There's a strong focus on wellness, so seniors have home safety features like walk-in tubs, medication dispensers, and medical alert systems from providers like Bay Alarm Medical, Medical Guardian, and ADT Medical Alert, plus if anyone needs help with hearing aids or cell phones, they have some resources about that too, including plans made for seniors. The location's pretty practical, with a nearby hospital for emergencies, several pharmacies and doctors, a place of worship, and a handful of restaurants close by, so folks have what they need around the corner. The whole place is licensed by New York state, carries out both in-person and online events, and seems to really care about helping seniors stay active and connected, supporting them so they can keep living at home as long as possible, all while making sure family caregivers get support and time to recharge. The facility gives people information about communities and reviews and has staff that help families sort through senior living options, so everyone gets guidance throughout the process.
