    Compassionate attentive home-like exceptional care

I placed my mom here and have been very pleased - Courtney was amazing and the compassionate, exceptionally attentive staff provided around-the-clock, above-and-beyond care in a warm, home-like, intimate setting. Meals are prepared on-site in the in-house kitchen, staff are professional with great attention to detail, and resident interaction is strong. Needs were consistently met and I highly recommend this very nice facility, though there are a few minor areas that could be improved.

About LiveWell Assisted Living at Governors Club

LiveWell Assisted Living at Governors Club sits in a quiet, gated area of Chapel Hill, and operates a small, family-like care home with room for up to six residents at a time, which means the staff really gets to know everyone and can help them in ways that work best for their needs, and it's made up of Governors Club Cottage #1 and Governors Club Cottage #2. Staff are on-duty around the clock, always ready to help with bathing, dressing, using the bathroom, taking medicine, and getting around, and care can cover more involved needs like high acuity care, incontinence support, diabetic care, and even help for folks who can't walk easily. The care team follows a 1:3 staff-to-resident ratio during the day, with someone awake and on call overnight, so people always have help when they need it, and that smaller group makes it feel more like a home than an institution, which can be comforting for many folks as they age.

The facility runs special memory care programs for people with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other memory problems, and everything is designed to cut down on confusion and prevent wandering, working to keep each day structured and as predictable as possible, often with routines and activities that match each person's interests and strengths, which helps manage things like agitation, anger, or frustration. Residents can have private or shared rooms, and pets like cats or dogs may join them, which a lot of people find makes it feel even more like home, and the single-story building helps everyone move around safely without worrying about stairs. Meals are planned by chefs and nutritionists, and they're not just healthy-they're made to taste good and meet each resident's needs, and the menus have even won awards for quality. There's always something going on, from outings, entertainment, and games to fitness groups, cooking classes, and even drum circles, plus computer training, community service projects, and nature walks. Families and friends are welcomed, and the place tries to keep a bright, friendly feeling all around.

Transportation for appointments or outings is available if needed, and services are personalized, adapting as each resident's needs change over time, aiming to encourage people to stay active, keep learning, and remain connected to life around them. Governors Club is licensed under state license FCL068028 and meets requirements for non-ambulatory care. The micro-community model lets everyone feel included and safe with modern safety features, while the grounds offer outdoor common areas and community spaces for gathering or relaxing, and the whole approach is to support independence while making sure help is always nearby, and everyone knows they're part of a close, supportive group.
