    Warm, attentive, clean, professional care

I'm very pleased with the warm, family-like care at this facility. The staff are caring, attentive and professional - Jonathan guided us through the process, Anne handled the finances, and Akwiasdi checked in to make sure we were satisfied; administration and owners are very involved. My mom is happy: clean, homey rooms, festive decor, timely meds and doctor follow-ups, activities, salon and secure outdoor space - I would recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews for Piedmont Christian Home Inc reflect a facility with meaningful strengths alongside recurrent operational concerns. Positive accounts emphasize compassionate, attentive caregiving, a family-oriented and faith-based atmosphere, and many of the comforts expected in a smaller residential setting: private rooms, an on-site salon, outdoor garden space, and secure entry. Several families described staff who form close one-on-one relationships with residents, timely medication administration in some cases, and regular social events such as holiday celebrations, birthday recognitions, outings, and activity programming like movies, crafts, Bingo, and shopping trips.

At the same time, a number of recurring operational issues appear across reviews. Cleanliness and sanitation controls are inconsistent, with odor concerns and housekeeping lapses noted in parts of the building. Relatedly, reviewers described inconsistencies in incontinence care and bathing schedules. Staffing instability and apparent understaffing—particularly in the memory care unit—were linked to gaps in care continuity, missed personal-care tasks, and limited supervision at times. Reviewers also raised concerns about staff professionalism and distractions (for example, use of personal devices while on shift), which families felt affected attentiveness.

Management and administrative practices were described as variable. Some accounts praised responsive administrators and individualized outreach, while others cited poor communication, defensive complaint handling, and uneven follow-through on family concerns. Several reviewers perceived a strong operational focus on finances and identified inconsistencies in policy enforcement, including visitation rules. Infection-control practices and PPE adherence were described as inconsistent, and there were mentions of pest-control and maintenance issues that indicate areas needing stronger quality-control oversight.

Dining and activities impressions are mixed: many families and residents praised meals and an active social schedule, while others reported limited programming or reduced engagement—most notably in memory care where a darker atmosphere and fewer activities were described. Overall quality of care appears to vary by unit and shift; prospective families may observe both examples of high-quality, person-centered care and instances where operational weaknesses affected the resident experience. Visitors considering this facility should assess multiple shifts and the memory care unit specifically, discuss care routines, sanitation protocols, staffing levels, and medication-management practices, and ask about recent management changes and quality-improvement efforts that address the concerns summarized here.

    About Piedmont Christian Home Inc

Piedmont Christian Home Inc sits off U.S. Route 311 in High Point, North Carolina, and has been serving seniors since 1965, so it's got a long history in the community and keeps a focus on Christian values and faith-based care, which matches how it was started by Ben and Irene Hunt. The community offers assisted living, memory care, adult day care, nursing and rehab, independent living, and continuing care, with full-service options like private or semi-private rooms and studio apartments. Staff help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and medication, and there's a nurse on staff part-time along with skilled nursing and medication administration services for people who need extra help. For those who need temporary care, respite services and short-term stays are available, and there's support for people with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other memory issues, including specialized staff and safe grounds to help prevent wandering.

Residents eat meals together in a dining room, with food planned by a licensed dietician who pays attention to dietary needs, and meal preparation uses quality ingredients for nutrition and taste. For physical health, there's in-house physical, occupational, and speech therapy in special therapy rooms, and fitness and wellness programs run regularly, with a focus on safety through 24-hour supervision, reliable call systems, and a gated, secured facility. Healthcare support covers diabetic care, non-ambulatory residents, incontinence help, and medication reminders. When it comes to personal services, laundry and dry cleaning for clothes and linens, daily housekeeping, and on-site salon and barber services are included, so folks won't have to travel for them. Free transportation is available for trips to medical appointments or local shopping, and rides for events are organized too.

The grounds hold gardens, walking paths, and patios so people can enjoy fresh air, and the community keeps a friendly atmosphere with spaces like a lounge, arts room, game room, and fitness room, plus an entrance with rocking chairs and a covered porch. Activities fill the day, from movie nights, music programs, outings, and bingo to art projects and religious services, and there are organized events to keep memory care residents' minds active. Family and volunteers are welcomed, with encouragement for loved ones to visit or help out so the environment feels more like home for everyone. The staff create care plans for each person based on what they want and need, so support can focus on physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs, and the place keeps a cheerful atmosphere with the aim to help residents feel safe, supported, and comfortable. With amenities like an onsite beauty shop, library, and outdoor gathering spaces, plus nearby choices like church, pharmacy, and coffee shops, it's a place where daily living gets support but still leaves room for visitors and a bit of independence. Piedmont Christian Home Inc keeps a Better Business Bureau A+ rating, has been steady in the area since 1965, and has about a 3.7 out of 5 rating from 20 reviews, which shows people see both the good and the things that could use improvement.
