    Compassionate clean faith based care

I placed my dad here and I'm very pleased - the Little Sisters of the Poor and the staff are compassionate, professional, and ever-present; the facility is clean, well kept, and feels like home. Rooms are spacious, meals are good, the chapel and spiritual life are meaningful, and the move-in was smooth thanks to helpful staff. I'd recommend this faith-based, caring community for families seeking solid long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Seven Acres Senior Living at Clifton describe a facility with a strong array of positive features alongside persistent operational concerns. Positive themes include a visible, compassionate caregiving presence, a faith-based environment with regular spiritual programming and chapel access, three meals provided daily, laundry service, onsite activities and exercise space, and generally well-maintained private and semi-private rooms with attractive views. Several accounts emphasize a smooth move-in process, helpful admissions staff, and an active volunteer program consistent with nonprofit ownership.

Clinical-care feedback is mixed. Some families praise attentive direct-care staff, while others describe inconsistent clinical oversight including delays in medication administration, variable adherence to medication orders, infrequent physician presence, and gaps in rehabilitative continuity. Reviewers also raise supply and provisioning problems for clinical needs. These patterns are often tied to a greater theme of requiring active family advocacy to secure timely care and follow-up after clinical events.

Staffing and workplace culture emerge as a major divide. Positive commentary highlights caring, friendly aides and sisters who are visible throughout the building. Conversely, other comments point to chronic understaffing, reliance on temporary aides without sufficient relief coverage, staff confusion or poor communication, and management actions perceived as undervaluing workers (including payroll/PTO disputes and related legal activity). These workforce issues are linked by reviewers to lapses in responsiveness and care continuity.

Dining, activities, and facility environment are similarly mixed. Many reviewers note adequate menu options, three hot meals a day, and meaningful activity offerings. At the same time, others describe interruptions to meal service and inconsistent dining management. Facility cleanliness and upkeep receive praise from numerous observers, but there are also pest-control and housekeeping inconsistencies and reports of dim or somber common-area ambience in parts of the building.

Management and governance concerns are prominent in the critical accounts. Themes include perceived weak administrative accountability, overwhelmed leadership, and breakdowns in incident response and family communication. There are also serious allegations concerning resident financial controls and theft; prospective families should treat such claims as a high-priority area for verification. Workforce-management instability and at least one ongoing legal dispute were also noted.

Overall, Seven Acres presents as a facility with notable strengths in compassionate direct care, faith-based services, and physical amenities, but with recurring operational risks tied to staffing, clinical oversight, dining continuity, and administrative governance. Prospective residents and families would be advised to tour the building during mealtimes, observe staff availability and call-response, request written policies on medication administration, therapy continuity, pest-control and sanitation, and inquire about staffing ratios, incident reporting procedures, and financial safeguards before making a placement decision.

About Seven Acres Senior Living at Clifton

Seven Acres Senior Living At Clifton sits on a landscaped 7-acre property, in a seven-story building that overlooks the University of Cincinnati, area hospitals, and the Ohio River, and you'll find the place pretty easy to get around, with rooms and apartments designed for seniors to live safely and comfortably; the building is secure, too, with a gated entrance and a front desk for checking in guests, and the whole place is open all day and night for residents and visitors alike. The community serves seniors through independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospice care, and memory care, so folks don't have to move if their needs change over time, plus, they offer home health care that's Medicare-certified and post-surgical recovery care delivered by a team that works alongside doctors. Seniors can choose between 58 private, semi-private, or deluxe private nursing rooms, and there are 35 independent living units-some are studio apartments, some have fireplaces, and others are deluxe suites or large one-bedroom apartments, all with kitchens, full bathrooms, and plenty of storage, and some rooms even give you big views of Cincinnati.

There's a big focus on giving seniors privacy, but people can still spend time together in shared lounges, kitchen areas, dining rooms, a coffee shop, outdoor patio space, and even a chapel where mass is offered, and there's a 24-hour live feed of the chapel streamed directly to each resident's room for those who want a quiet moment of faith or reflection. The EPIC House program provides shared living arrangements with private bedrooms, plus meals, housekeeping, and laundry so folks have help without losing their own space. The rehab services are strong here, especially after the therapy gym got a new look in 2021, and licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists help people regain strength and independence-families can work with the team to set up custom treatment plans for both short and long-term stays.

Safety runs through everything, with sprinkler systems, wheelchair help, and apartments set up with accessibility in mind, like grab bars and handy fixtures in kitchens and bathrooms. Meals are available for those that want them, and there's a fitness center, WiFi, a salon and barbershop, laundry and housekeeping services, a library, game rooms, guest parking, and cable TV-plus a chapel, of course. There's good support for memory care, with trained staff and specialized programming for people living with dementia or Alzheimer's, and long-term care insurance options exist for peace of mind. Seniors also get access to transportation to doctor visits, social programs like arts and crafts, exercise, and education classes, and there are options for walking assistance.

Rents for assisted living start at $1,500 and go up to $6,500 a month, with memory care units ranging from $5,500 to $9,500, and the community is licensed in Ohio to provide all the services it promises. The focus is always on giving folks dignity, comfort, and a sense of belonging-whether it's a quiet one-bedroom apartment or a room in the nursing wing, the mission at Seven Acres is to help everyone age in place, with care and support that grows with each resident's needs.
