Hoover Place Senior Community sits in Dayton, Ohio, and provides independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults aged 55 and up, and folks can get either one- or two-bedroom apartments that are all freshly renovated with new finishes, modern kitchens, washers and dryers, air conditioning, walk-in closets, and either a private balcony or patio in some units, French doors, vinyl plank flooring, and vertical blinds, so there's plenty of natural light and a pleasant atmosphere, and for those who need it, there are handicap accessible apartments and safety features like a sprinkler system, emergency alert pendants, and controlled access to the buildings. The facility brings on-site physicians and nurses to offer long-term care, skilled nursing, and specialized memory care for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia, making sure there's supervision and safety for everyone who needs it, and personal care assistants are available to help with daily living activities and to people who use wheelchairs or need some extra support, while staff have a reputation for being helpful and cheerful, and the community is described as inclusive, diverse, and welcoming. Residents get daily housekeeping, meal service with restaurant-style dining that can handle dietary restrictions, laundry facilities on-site, cable TV, cleaning, salon services, and a transportation shuttle, so folks do not have to worry about errands or maintenance, and the community offers a concierge service as well. Apartments have all-electric, well-equipped kitchens for those who prefer to cook, but nutritious meals are provided and are a highlight, with a limited dining room program for those who want to eat with others; there's a private guest suite for family overnight visits, storage space, utilities that cover water, gas, trash, and parking, though electric and cable are extra. Amenities are broad, including an indoor pool, a fitness room, fireplaces, an outdoor gazebo and courtyard with seating and raised garden beds, fitness paths and walking trails, a beauty/barber shop, parking areas, community rooms, a large fireplace, computer centers, a community kitchen, activity room, indoor climate-controlled walkways, and balconies and patios in select units so residents can either socialize or find some quiet space. The facility also provides programs and activities designed to keep residents physically, mentally, and socially active, though the schedule is limited but focused on engagement, and there are health and wellness programs, a game room, and organized events so there's usually something to do. Hoover Place allows residents to age in place, with choices for independent living, assisted living, and nursing home care, and it's part of the SeniorAdvisor.com and National Church Residences networks, with free advice available from experienced senior living advisors, though rates are not published openly. The place is smoke-free and pet friendly policies aren't specified, but storage and parking are available, and the site is known for being clean and offering a pleasant atmosphere, plus there's a focus on safety, diversity, and supporting various lifestyle needs. Reviews often mention that the staff is friendly, the apartments are nice, and the community has a welcoming feel, with several awards earned for quality of living and care, though each person's experience might differ, and the best way to know may be to tour in person or get a brochure.

Bed bugs infested hallways avoid
I moved in and found a bed-bug infestation. The hallway was crawling and essentially unwalkable, and the overall conditions were disgusting. I would not recommend.
