    Warm attentive staff, excellent community

I toured Tallgrass and moved my loved one in - overall I'm very pleased. The staff are warm, attentive, and go above and beyond; the community feels like home with comfortable, well-appointed rooms and lots of floorplan options. There are plentiful activities and outings, excellent dining and a pleasant dining room, and the personalized tour and smooth move-in made the decision easy. Friendly, professional, and highly recommended.

    Summary of reviews

Asher Point Independent Living of Bartlesville presents a mixed but definable profile: many reviewers describe a warm, social community with strengths in staff–resident rapport, dining presentation, and onsite amenities, while others describe operational and consistency challenges that prospective residents and families should consider. The community offers a restaurant-style dining room, regular themed events, a range of amenities (library, salon/barber, exercise room, chapel), and multiple apartment floorplans. Several families praised the admissions experience and transition support, and many residents appreciate the homelike atmosphere and attentive staff.

Care and staff quality are among the facility's notable strengths. Reviewers frequently describe staff as friendly, caring, and knowledgeable about residents’ preferences; several accounts note proactive assistance during medical challenges and consistent PPE and infection-control practices during the pandemic. However, persistent staff turnover and occasional shortages are recurring operational issues that reviewers say have affected continuity of care, housekeeping, and meal service. A few families also described clinical incidents that raised questions about incident communication and responsiveness; these concerns center on post-incident communication rather than definitive conclusions about clinical competency.

Dining earns both praise and criticism. Many reviewers commend the food presentation, cloth table settings, and enjoyable meals on multiple occasions. At the same time, others report variability in meal temperature, intermittent slow service, limited menu rotation, and occasions where promised snacks or offerings were not delivered. In some cases, pandemic adjustments (meals taken to rooms, restricted dining access) reduced dining variety, which some families found acceptable while others saw as a decline in value.

Activity programming and social life are generally positive, with frequent holiday events, parties, classes (posture/balance, group exercise), and an engaged activity director noted by several reviewers. Still, some residents find the activity mix repetitive or juvenile for independent-living residents, and transportation options for offsite outings (for example, shopping) are described as limited in frequency.

Facility condition is a contrast between recent improvements and outstanding maintenance needs. Renovations, new carpet, and attractive interior spaces (atrium, piano, remodeled areas) are highlighted. Conversely, maintenance concerns appear in delayed repairs, elevator downtime, temperature control in some stairwells, exterior wood deterioration, and cleanliness lapses in certain common areas (game room floors, windows, dining-room carpeting). Housekeeping logistics—such as shared laundry access being constrained by staff use—were cited as an operational friction point.

Management and operations show a pattern of inconsistency. Reviewers referenced leadership turnover, variable enforcement of policies (masking, room-access), and gaps in communication with families about billing and incidents. Unclear billing practices and application of late fees were specifically raised. These operational challenges, combined with staffing variability, contribute to perceived value concerns among some residents and families.

In sum, Asher Point offers many attributes attractive for independent living—friendly staff, strong social programming, attractive communal dining, and convenient amenities—alongside operational weaknesses that may affect daily life for some residents. Prospective residents should weigh the positive community culture and available services against concerns about management consistency, housekeeping and maintenance reliability, meal-service continuity, and transparency around billing and communication. When touring, families may find it useful to ask about current staffing stability, housekeeping schedules, maintenance response times, meal planning and delivery practices, transportation availability, and incident-communication protocols to determine fit for their priorities.

About Asher Point Independent Living of Bartlesville

Asher Point Independent Living of Bartlesville sits at 2633 Mission Drive in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and it's a place where men and women of a minimum age can live independently while getting to enjoy community life, and the community has a 4.5-star rating that many describe as excellent, though of course, no place covers every need for every person. Residents live in private apartments, choosing from studios, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom layouts, and each unit comes with a kitchenette, independent heating and cooling, and safety-equipped bathrooms, including some with walk-in tubs and wheelchair accessible showers, so people can maintain privacy and comfort while having what they need close by. The community welcomes pets, including both dogs and cats, so residents don't have to leave beloved companions behind, and there are plenty of outdoor spaces and walking paths to enjoy.

Meals are a big part of daily life, and the culinary team prepares three home-style meals daily, focusing on fresh and seasonal ingredients, which can be eaten in the community dining room or even a private dining room for special occasions, and there's always a staff ready to help out. For folks who want to stay busy and connected, there are many social activities, both on and off-site, covering everything from arts and crafts to group outings, exercise classes in the fitness center, games in the game room, or quiet time in the library, and some like to join in musical or cultural events, so there's usually something happening if you feel like joining in.

Asher Point Independent Living provides devotional services for residents who want spiritual support, and there's a chapel on-site, along with community managers present 24 hours for support and security. The campus has a business center, a computer room, WiFi in commons, a TV lounge, and a community center for gatherings. The beauty and barber salon is available for personal care needs, with on-site laundry and housekeeping services making things more convenient, and maintenance is handled by staff so residents have less to worry about. Resident parking and guest parking are both available, including covered parking options, and scheduled transportation serves nearby healthcare providers, shopping, and recreational locations, which can be a big help for those who don't want to drive.

The environment is friendly, with a staff known for being helpful and kind, and with a culture focused on helping residents feel safe and independent, while also being around others who enjoy socializing, volunteering, or just spending time together. The community is verified for licensing and meets state regulations, which gives some peace of mind. Residents who want extra support can bring in third-party care providers if needed, and there are safety rails, call systems, and plenty of open, accessible common areas inside and outside. With VA aid assistance available, credit card payments accepted, volunteer opportunities, and even options for overnight guests, Asher Point keeps things simple and organized, aiming to let seniors live with the right mix of independence, convenience, and community, though people who need full-time care or constant supervision might find it less suited to their needs.
