    Warm caring community highly recommended

I'm very satisfied with this community - the staff are sincere, cheerful and genuinely caring, and they quickly felt like family. The place is clean, well-maintained and peaceful with a lovely apartment, great food, a welcoming dining room, and a premium hillside location. There are lively activities and off-site outings, attentive knowledgeable caregivers, and my granddad absolutely loves it, so I feel confident and comfortable recommending it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Fox Hollow presents as a well-kept, moderately sized independent and assisted living community with consistently positive feedback about frontline staff and daily operations. Reviewers frequently praised the warmth of caregivers, the helpfulness of reception staff, and a visible sense of stable leadership. Many families described residents as comfortable, engaged, and well looked-after; hospice and on-call nursing support are available, and staff are generally described as prompt and familiar with residents.

Care and staff: The dominant theme in the reviews is strong interpersonal care. Caregivers are commonly characterized as compassionate, patient, and attentive, with assistance available for showers, laundry, medication administration, and transportation to appointments. Several comments note that staff remember residents’ names and provide reassuring communication. At the same time, there is variability in staff experience and occasional concerns about tone or responsiveness; reviewers also cited some miscommunications with external agencies or hospice during transitions of care. Prospective families should confirm staffing levels, training, and handoff procedures during a tour.

Dining: Dining is generally regarded as a positive element of the community. Multiple reviewers noted nutritious, well-prepared meals and direct involvement from a chef in menu planning. The dining room is often described as inviting and open. Conversely, some residents would prefer expanded options: there are limitations such as no self-service stations (a policy reinforced during infection-control periods), and certain items (salad/fruit/bread/soup bars) were described as lacking. A few reviewers found the food less impressive, indicating some variability in dining satisfaction.

Activities and social life: Activity programming is a strength for many residents, with offerings that include bingo, poker, movie nights, daily exercises, and off-site outings using the facility bus. The activity room is described as large and busy, and families noted that the atmosphere can be lively and socially engaging. However, because the facility is relatively compact, space constraints can limit seating and casual gathering areas; some reviewers felt the activity mix did not meet every resident’s expectations for variety or frequency.

Facilities and apartments: The community is frequently described as clean, attractive, and well maintained, with several positive comments about apartment layouts and size. That said, unit features are modest — there are no in-unit kitchens in independent units, limited storage and closet space for some apartments, and no bathtubs in certain units — which may be important depending on a prospective resident’s needs. The hillside/premium location and welcoming common spaces are viewed positively.

Management, pricing, and patterns to note: Leadership is generally seen as stable and informative, and staff continuity is a recurring positive. Still, reviewers raised consistent concerns about the pricing model: contracts are itemized, extra fees (for example, for phone lines and certain services) affect perceived value, and cost can be a deciding factor for some families. Communication gaps with families and outside agencies, occasional coordination issues for hospital transport, and uneven experience among newer staff members are other operational themes to clarify during a visit.

Bottom line guidance: Fox Hollow appears to be a good fit for residents who prioritize personable, hands-on staff, nutritious meals, and an active social program in a smaller, well-maintained community. Families for whom advanced memory care, in-unit kitchens, larger living-storage space, or broad self-service dining options are essential should evaluate those specific items carefully. When considering placement, ask for details about dementia-care pathways, the full fee schedule, staffing patterns, activity calendars, and examples of care coordination protocols to ensure alignment with your priorities.
