    Very satisfied with excellent caregiving

I placed my mother at Good Sam five years ago and was consistently impressed - admissions was awesome, staff were kind and attentive, caregivers became friends and communicated clearly while providing excellent care. The new facility is great; I'm very satisfied overall, with just a couple small areas that could be improved.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is highly positive, with consistent praise centered on the quality of direct care, staff demeanor, and communication. Care quality is described as attentive and compassionate: reviewers specifically call caregivers "absolutely wonderful" and emphasize that staff took excellent care of patients and their families. One reviewer noted a resident stayed five years, which signals satisfaction with long-term care and continuity of services. The repeated use of phrases like "great care" and a stated "5-star overall impression" reinforce that clinical and day-to-day care meet or exceed family expectations.

Staff and workplace culture emerge as particularly strong themes. Reviewers describe a "strong staff atmosphere" and note that staff became friends with the family, indicating warm, personal relationships beyond purely clinical interactions. This suggests staff are not only competent but also personable and engaged, contributing to emotional wellbeing for residents and families. The reviews also highlight family-focused attention: staff were attentive to both the patient and their family, which points to good bedside manner and an emphasis on family communication and inclusion.

Admissions and communication are called out specifically as strengths. The admissions department is described as "awesome, nice, kind," and reviewers report "great communication." This indicates an effective intake process and ongoing informational exchange between the facility and families, reducing stress during transitions and fostering trust. Positive impressions of admissions often correlate with smooth transitions into care and set a favorable tone for subsequent interactions.

Facility condition and improvements are noted as another positive factor: one reviewer was "impressed with new Good Sam's," suggesting recent upgrades or renovations that improved the physical environment. While reviews do not provide detailed descriptions of the updates, the mention of a "new" facility element combined with strong overall ratings implies that the environment supports a positive care experience.

Notable patterns and limitations: the set of summaries is uniformly positive, with no specific complaints or negative observations recorded. That unanimity supports a picture of consistently high satisfaction among the reviewers sampled, but it also limits insight into potential areas for improvement. Reviews do not mention specifics about dining, activities, therapy services, pricing, or administrative issues beyond admissions, so those domains remain unassessed in this dataset. Additionally, because the sample is small and strongly favorable, it may reflect a selection bias toward satisfied family members.

In sum, these reviews portray Curry Village Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia (Good Samaritan) as a facility with compassionate, relationship-oriented staff, strong communication and admissions processes, and a physical environment that has recently been refreshed. The dominant themes are quality long-term care, friendly and attentive staff, and family-centered communication. Absence of negative comments in this set is notable but should be interpreted alongside the limited scope of the provided reviews when forming a complete evaluation.

About Curry Village Health and Rehabilitation

Curry Village Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia offers skilled nursing care and nursing home services for people who need either short-term rehabilitation or long-term care, and they've got a total of 59 certified beds in the building, with private and semi-private rooms, and you'll also find some 2-bedroom apartments and shared rooms in the mix, all with comfortable furnishings, kitchenettes, private bathrooms, air-conditioning, phone lines, cable, and internet, so you can stay connected and comfortable. The staff helps with everything from dressing and daily tasks to medical treatments, medication management, diabetes care, special diets, and mobility or transportation, and they keep trained staff on the clock around the clock for safety, with 24-hour security systems, emergency call buttons, and secure areas to help keep residents safe if they might wander. The care team, which includes a group of physicians and licensed nurses, focuses on making custom treatment and rehabilitation plans for every resident, with skilled nursing and intermediate care for people who depend on help for many things, and they run a rehabilitation gym right on site for physical, occupational, and speech therapy every day of the week, plus an activities program led by an activities director who comes up with things for folks to do.

They also offer nutritional guidance, services for special dietary needs, and help families with social services if something comes up, and they partner with an outstanding group of doctors to watch patient outcomes. You'll see care for the very frail and those needing close supervision all day, and there's always a team to help manage medicines and medical conditions and to help people recover from illness or surgery with as much dignity as possible. The nurse staffing is about 4.89 hours per resident per day, a bit lower than the state average, and the nurse turnover is lower than state average at 44.9%. Inspections have found 33 deficiencies, including 5 related to infection, some about pharmacy practices and some about food safety and dietary standards, so those are things to know about if you're thinking over the options. Curry Village Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia is managed by Cascadia Healthcare and aims to give compassionate and patient-centered care with individualized attention, but it's important to look up the specific inspection reports if you want more on the history of deficiencies or the care provided there.
