    Relieved, compassionate, knowledgeable memory care

I moved my mom here and feel relieved - the staff are kind, compassionate, and truly knowledgeable about memory care. The place is clean and homey, meals are good and on time, activities are varied and engaging, and administration (Rosie) is excellent and responsive. The team goes above and beyond, so I have real peace of mind and would recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Chinook Place Memory Care and Assisted Living is described by families and residents predominantly as a small, well-kept community with a strong emphasis on person-centered care. Reviewers consistently praise the caregiving team for compassion, patience, and responsiveness; many comments highlight staff who build close bonds with residents, maintain respectful interactions, and provide reassurance to families. The facility's memory-care capabilities and dementia-aware programming are repeatedly noted as strengths, with several mentions of appropriate clinical transitions and hospice support when needed.

The activities program is another frequent highlight. Reviewers cite a diverse calendar that includes holiday celebrations, crafts, outings, weekly entertainment, exercise-oriented activities (for example, ball-toss and walking), and other social opportunities that staff adapt to residents' abilities. Activity leadership is singled out for forming valuable relationships with residents and improving resident engagement. These social and therapeutic offerings contribute to reports that the environment feels home-like and socially supportive.

Dining and daily services receive mixed but overall positive commentary. Many reviewers call the meals delicious and of restaurant quality, and note that meal service is punctual. Regular laundry, vacuuming, and housekeeping services are also appreciated, contributing to a generally clean and well-maintained appearance across apartments and common areas. At the same time, a recurring operational concern is variability in food quality — some families note inconsistent satisfaction with meals, indicating that dining experience can fluctuate.

Management and leadership are frequently commended for being responsive, accessible, and attentive to family input. A named manager receives substantial praise for efficiency and family interaction; administration is described as pleasant to work with and constructive in handling feedback. Operational areas to monitor include staffing continuity — observers mention turnover and the arrival of new staff, which can affect consistency of care — and the facility's rural setting, which may limit access to external amenities and transportation for some families. A minority of comments also describe perceptions of occasional over-involvement by staff; while presented positively by many families, this dynamic may be experienced differently depending on family expectations.

Overall, Chinook Place projects a consistently positive standard of daily care, a strong activity program tailored to memory-care needs, and an engaged management team. Prospective residents and families will likely find a compassionate environment with good housekeeping and social programming; those prioritizing consistently high dining quality or easier access to urban services should probe meal consistency and transportation options during a tour. Continuous attention to staffing stability would further strengthen the facility’s otherwise favorable profile.

About Chinook Place Memory Care and Assisted Living

Chinook Place Memory Care and Assisted Living sits on a landscaped property with walking paths, a gazebo, and outdoor gardens, so residents can enjoy the fresh air and scenery. The community is a daylight ranch-style building with both upper and lower levels, offering 30 apartments-there are 13 for assisted living, with seven one-bedroom and six studio options, and 17 studio apartments in the secure memory care area with shared bathrooms, all wired for phone and cable and fitted with emergency call devices. Residents can live in a safe and comfortable environment, whether they need memory care or assisted living, with staff on hand 24 hours a day, including licensed nurses, med aides, caregivers, and a supportive care team.

There's a focus on supporting residents' health, comfort, and well-being, so the facility provides personal care plans that staff update based on each person's needs and daily routines. Services are tailored for those with memory loss, like Alzheimer's or dementia, and the building's design keeps safety and ease of movement in mind, especially in memory care. Residents can take part in meaningful activities at Life Skill Stations-spending time in a mock nursery, secretary's office, or using a workbench, which can help with a sense of purpose and freedom.

Meals come three times a day, all dietitian-approved, and there are always snacks on hand if someone's hungry between meals. The open dining room offers plenty of natural light and residents get alternate entrée choices, plus space to socialize. For those needing help with specific care, available services include diabetic care, medication assistance, incontinence care, non-ambulatory care, and memory care, as well as and transport for community outings.

Residents can spend time in cozy common areas like living rooms with fireplaces, lounges with TVs and seating, restrooms in shared or private spaces, and a salon with a licensed beautician. There are non-pay telephones, Wi-Fi and high-speed internet, common areas wired for cable, smoke detectors, fire sprinklers, and other safety features, so seniors and visiting loved ones can feel secure. Staff also help with weekly housekeeping, laundry-including a non-pay laundry room-and offer respite services.

Life at Chinook Place includes an active mix of enrichment programs, Bingo, music, entertainers, trips into the wider community, and other activities meant for social connection and fun. The community listens to feedback, taking food requests and encouraging residents to engage and share ideas. Those who want pets nearby, Wi-Fi, parking, or transportation to appointments can find those too.

Chinook Place strives to create a warm, caring space where people feel at home, and the professional staff focus on kindness and personal attention, trying to support independence while being there when someone needs help, whether it's with daily living, cognitive support, or staying connected to others through activities and shared spaces.
