    Caring, clean facility with activities

My mom moved in recently and the onboarding was easy - staff went above and beyond. She has a large, spotless room (they even sent photos), no unpleasant odors, secure courtyards, excellent meals and snacks, and plenty of activities and outings so she's become socially engaged and gets daily check-in calls. Caring, cheerful caregivers provide high-quality, accommodating care; I'd recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The facility is commonly described as clean, well-maintained, and home-like, with many families praising the caregiving team and the degree of social engagement residents experience. Several accounts emphasize attentive, accommodating staff who facilitate transitions, encourage participation in activities, and maintain pleasant living and dining areas. Outdoor spaces and larger private rooms are noted positively, and many residents reportedly enjoy meals and regular outings.

Care and staff: Clinical and day-to-day care is generally characterized as high quality; staff are frequently described as kind, cheerful, and willing to go beyond basic duties to support residents. That said, there are recurring operational concerns around staff professionalism and role clarity. Reviewers describe instances where staff actions or decision-making appeared outside expected role boundaries, and families have identified inconsistent responsiveness to questions or requests. Separately, there are serious claims alleging disrespectful treatment and a toxic workplace culture; these are significant and merit direct inquiry by prospective families and regulators when appropriate.

Dining and activities: The program offers a range of activities (bingo, outings, regular social events) and many residents are reported to be socially engaged after arrival. Dining spaces are described as comfortable and home-like, and many reviewers say meals are enjoyable. At the same time, others describe the food as institutional or inconsistent with home-style cooking, indicating variability in dining quality that prospective families should clarify with the facility.

Facilities and management: Physical spaces receive strong marks for cleanliness, absence of unpleasant odors, and a pleasant presentation throughout common areas and private rooms. Secure courtyards and easy onboarding for new residents are additional strengths. Management-related themes are mixed: while front-line caregivers are praised, reviewers point to gaps in management-level communication, public-relations skills, and responsiveness. These managerial concerns, together with perceptions of limited specialized memory-care programming and questions about value relative to cost, suggest areas for targeted questions during a tour.

Guidance for prospective families: Ask about staff roles and training, escalation procedures for clinical or behavioral issues, and how the facility documents and communicates incidents. Tour dining areas during a meal service to assess consistency and home-style options. Inquire specifically about on-site memory-care programming and placement pathways if specialized dementia care may be needed. Finally, seek clarification on family communication protocols and any steps management has taken to address workplace-culture concerns so you can evaluate both day-to-day care and organizational oversight.

    • This is not a place I’d take my parents to. I’ve seen staff not use gloves when changing attends and not using hand sanitizer to clean before and after patient care. A patient fell and instead of their Med Tech stated she didn’t know what to do. I saw where they had attempted to set up a room for isolation with no signage of what kind of precautions to take with trash bags on the floor outside the room and soiled linen that was contaminated with the disease the patient had in a small laundry bin sitting outside of the room in the hallway for the other residents to get into. I’m am grossed out just thinking about it. And was very disappointed to see that a place that was recommended for a potential place for my father, was not following standard isolation precautions or proper use of proper protective gear that they should be wearing and less than desirable hand hygiene.

    About Chantele's Loving Touch

Chantele's Loving Touch sits in Sutherlin, Oregon, and it's a purpose-built, free-standing memory care community with forty-five beds, all focused on helping seniors with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Residents can pick a studio or semi-private room, and all bedrooms and bathrooms are handicap-accessible, with wheelchair accessible showers and nurse call systems for safety, plus emergency security features that notify staff if someone tries to wander to an unsafe spot. The property is fenced and has a garden, covered porch, and outdoor seating so folks can relax outside, but the whole layout and security system-with things like electronic bracelets and a computerized wander alert system-are made to let people stay as safe as possible even if they're likely to wander or get confused, and there's special support and staff for residents who might get physically aggressive or act out, including behavioral care services, handles for exit-seeking, and staff trained in managing aggression.

Chantele's Loving Touch can handle one-person and two-person transfers, and mechanical lifts are available for residents with higher mobility needs, plus there's help for everyday routines, housekeeping, linen changes, and laundry. Full meal service comes with family-style dining in a shared room, covering vegetarian options and special diets, and snacks are included too. Folks have access to onsite and offsite activities tailored for those with memory loss, along with outdoor and indoor common areas to visit with others, and you'll find an onsite beautician and scheduled transportation if residents need to go out, though there may be an extra charge for rides.

Daily support includes incontinence care, medication help-including insulin injections and sliding scale therapy-and support for people who need diabetic care but want to monitor their own blood sugar, since staff can check sugar levels but only give insulin shots as specified. The place's got services for respite stays, hospice care, and a nurse on staff with a doctor on call, while health and social service professionals can help as needed, so people don't have to move as their care needs change. Staffed 24 hours a day by trained caregivers, Chantele's Loving Touch does what it can to keep everyone's safety, dignity, and comfort as top priorities in a secure, homelike setting made for elders who live with memory impairments.
