    Caring, clean, home-like senior care

I placed my mom here and I'm very pleased - the staff are caring, professional, and treat residents like family. The home is clean, modern, and comfortable with large rooms and excellent housekeeping. Meals are home-cooked, nutritious, and generous, and there are regular activities and outings plus helpful assistance with meds and daily needs. I highly recommend this warm, well-run place.

    Summary of reviews

BeeHive Homes of Knoxville is consistently described by families and residents as a small, residential-style assisted living operation that emphasizes a home-like atmosphere and close staff–resident relationships. Reviewers frequently highlight the facility's clean, modern interior and thoughtful design that aims to feel more like a private home than an institutional setting. The home's scale and local ownership appear to support a personalized model of care: residents are often described as well known to staff, and caregivers are characterized as attentive, compassionate, and willing to provide one-on-one assistance.

Care quality is generally portrayed as attentive and dignified, with staff providing help with activities of daily living, medication assistance, and routine housekeeping and laundry services. Several accounts praise the staff for going beyond expectations and creating a family-like environment. At the same time, there are operational concerns tied to staffing practices: comments about limited benefits and staff dissatisfaction suggest potential vulnerabilities in retention and morale, which could affect continuity of care if not addressed.

Dining is a clear strength for many reviewers. The facility prepares on-site, home-cooked meals with reportedly generous portions and nutritious choices; three meals per day plus snacks are part of the regular offering. Some reviewers also noted customizable meal options and appreciation for portion size and variety. One operational note is that medication handling can incur additional fees, which is an important cost consideration for families evaluating total expenses.

Activities and social programming show mixed feedback. Positive descriptions include planned outings, card games, birthday celebrations, and resident interactions that promote a joyful environment. However, other comments point to a limited or repetitive activity schedule in some periods, with references to minimal offerings (for example, primarily bingo). Prospective residents and families should confirm current activity calendars and opportunities for individualized engagement during a tour.

Facilities and logistics are generally reported as strong: large rooms, orderly common areas, and responsive housekeeping are common observations. The facility's location adjacent to a busy street was noted as limiting safe independent outdoor excursions for residents, which may make off-site outings more dependent on staff accompaniment. Another practical concern voiced by reviewers involves security of resident belongings and property tracking; families should inquire about procedures for inventorying and securing personal items.

Management and organizational patterns show a mix of strengths and areas for improvement. Local management and small size support personalization and rapid responsiveness, but comments about staff compensation, benefit limitations, and hiring practices—including at least one serious allegation related to discriminatory hiring—warrant careful inquiry. Families should ask management about staff turnover rates, training, background-check procedures, and how the home addresses staff wellbeing and equity to assess likely continuity and culture.

In summary, BeeHive Homes of Knoxville appears to offer a warm, well-maintained, and small-scale assisted living option with strong emphasis on home-cooked dining, attentive caregiving, and a family-like atmosphere. Important items for prospective families to verify during a visit include the current activity schedule and opportunities for individualized engagement, policies and fees related to medication administration, procedures for protecting resident property, and management practices around staffing, benefits, and hiring. These clarifications will help determine whether the facility's largely positive, intimate model of care aligns with a specific resident's needs and expectations.

    About BeeHive Homes of Knoxville

BeeHive Homes of Knoxville sits in a peaceful area close to medical facilities and shopping, offering a smaller, family-style assisted living home with 16 suites, each with a private bathroom and ADA shower, and some rooms work well for couples. Staff keep things comfortable with daily housekeeping, laundry, and three meals a day, all made on site and approved by a dietitian, and snacks, too, so residents don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning. Residents can enjoy cable or satellite TV, their own phone line, beauty and barber services, fresh linens and towels, and a lounge to sit and visit, while 24-hour caregivers and an on-site nurse help with bathing, dressing, medication management, and other daily needs, though there's no nurse working weekends, so medication times might run a bit later then.

BeeHive Homes runs as a locally owned place, trying to make things feel home-like and friendly, with a high caregiver-to-resident ratio and a smaller building designed to help people know each other, making it easier for the staff to give care that fits each person, since every resident gets regular checkups to see what help they need. They offer a range of services for seniors, including assisted living, memory care for people with dementia or Alzheimer's, respite care for short stays after surgery or illness, and even adult day care, with both individual and group activities to keep folks socially and mentally active-things like fishing, quilting, crocheting, and outings, plus indoor groups and time outside on the patio with nice landscaping.

The staff run special Signature Service programs, providing ongoing monitoring and assistance, and try to create a place that feels safe and calm for people who may get confused or wander, with a focus on helping everyone keep their independence as much as possible. The building stays easy to get around, aiming to lessen stress, and regular activities plus devotional services help residents feel connected. BeeHive Homes gets recognized now and then for their activities and care, and they try to make every resident feel like part of a family, keeping their approach simple, personal, and friendly, so seniors can relax and live with the right amount of support to fit their needs.
