    Mother thrived at Mirabella community

My mother has truly thrived at Mirabella. Beautiful, hotel-like grounds and clean, comfortable apartments, restaurant-quality meals (pureed options available), and nonstop activities keep her engaged - rehab helped her mobility. The staff are compassionate, professional and responsive (Carlette, Edwin, Myra, Deja, Jessica and Patti stood out), and the warm, safe atmosphere put our family at ease. I recommend touring Mirabella.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The bundled reviews present a highly polarized picture of Mirabella Assisted Living & Memory Care. Many families and residents describe a welcoming, hotel-like community with compassionate frontline staff, attractive public spaces, and a lively activity program. At the same time, others describe operational weaknesses that affect day-to-day living and clinical continuity. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s strong hospitality and social programming against documented inconsistencies in clinical operations, maintenance, and management responsiveness.

Care and staff: Reviews frequently praise individual caregivers, nurses, and activity staff for being kind, attentive, and engaged. Several accounts reference 24/7 nursing presence, helpful aides, and staff who know residents by name. Counterbalancing those positives are repeated concerns about staffing stability (including turnover and weekend short-staffing), long wait times for assistance, and inconsistent handoffs. There are specific operational gaps reported in medication and therapy coordination — for example, missing physician orders, delayed medication administration, and therapy sessions missed due to paperwork or scheduling — which indicate a need to confirm clinical workflows before moving in. A subset of reviews raise concerns about staff conduct and communication tone; a few describe more serious allegations and policy disputes that families should investigate directly with leadership.

Dining and nutrition: Dining is frequently described in favorable terms — restaurant-style service, varied menus, and appealing dining rooms — and many residents enjoy the food and social dining experiences. However, a clear pattern of inconsistent meal quality appears across reviews: cold plates, uneven preparation, and variability depending on who is cooking. Several families note limited accommodation for therapeutic diets (notably diabetic and low-sodium needs) and a menu tendency toward certain staples. Prospective families should ask detailed questions about therapeutic-diet policy, daily menus, and contingency plans for food-service disruptions.

Activities and therapy: Mirabella is praised for an active social calendar, regular outings, and a range of classes and holiday events that support engagement. Activity directors and social programming receive consistent positive notes. At the same time, there are gaps in rehabilitative offerings and exercise resources mentioned — limited scheduled therapy classes, inconsistent instructor presence, and a need for better-equipped rehab areas. If therapy or ongoing exercise is a primary need, verify the facility’s ability to deliver consistent, supervised rehabilitative programming.

Facilities and maintenance: The property’s curb appeal, landscaping, and public spaces are commonly noted as strengths, and many apartments are described as spacious and upscale. Reviewers also point to a disparity between upgraded common areas and some older or under-maintained resident rooms. Maintenance response time is a recurring concern (slow repairs, delayed HVAC/plumbing fixes), and sanitation and pest-control concerns are mentioned for some living areas. IT and connectivity problems (TV/Wi‑Fi) and occasional access-system issues (mailbox keys, entrance doors) also appear. Prospective residents should inspect both public and private spaces, ask about maintenance SLAs, pest-control contracts, and recent room renovation schedules.

Management, policies, and finances: Several reviews praise individual leaders and frontline supervisors who go above and beyond; other reviews describe frequent executive turnover, inconsistent responsiveness from upper management, billing errors, and opaque fee structures. Concerns include non-refundable fees, increases in service charges after move-in, and unclear monthly pricing. Some families also describe abrupt policy changes affecting visitation, therapy pets, or payment-source restrictions. These patterns suggest it is important to review the contract carefully, clarify all fees and refund policies, and document communications with admissions and billing prior to commitment.

Notable patterns and practical guidance: The dominant theme is variability — strong person-level caregiving and attractive amenities coexist with uneven operational execution in areas that materially affect resident safety and comfort. For families considering Mirabella, recommended steps include: touring during a meal and an activity period, asking for current staffing ratios and turnover statistics, requesting examples of how therapeutic diets and medication administration are handled, reviewing maintenance and pest-control records, confirming transportation reliability, and obtaining clear written terms on fees and refundability. Observing staff–resident interactions across shifts (including weekends) and speaking with current residents or family members can help clarify whether the specific unit and team align with your expectations.

About Mirabella Assisted Living & Memory Care

Mirabella Assisted Living & Memory Care sits on Bryant Irvin Road in Fort Worth, Texas. The community serves seniors with assisted living and specialized memory care, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia, and folks can move from assisted living to memory care without leaving the building, which is nice because it keeps things easy as care needs change. The place just went through renovations and looks clean and home-like, and the apartments are spacious, come in studio, one, and two-bedroom options, and have in-unit kitchenettes and safety-equipped bathrooms. Residents can bring their pets since it's a pet-friendly place, and the courtyards have rocking chairs, plants, and raised garden beds where you'll usually see someone relaxing or walking along the lit paths.

Meals come three times a day in a restaurant-style dining room, with chef-prepared dishes, and there's always a menu with more than one entrée to pick, plus snacks for memory care folks. They say activities fill up the calendar, from Wii bowling and jewelry making to exercise classes, and now and then they'll take trips out, like over to the WinStar World Casino and Resort. There are social programs, outings, and regular services right there on site, as well as devotional services and visiting doctors and nurses. Mirabella's staff help with daily tasks and offer personal care plans and checks on residents every couple of hours or more if needed, with call pendants and pull cords in the apartments for quick help.

The building is three stories with nice communal spaces, lounge areas, and a recreational room, plus weekly housekeeping and linens. Transportation is available within a ten-mile radius, and they'll help residents move with transition support services. The environment aims to be safe and supportive, especially for those with memory concerns. Nurses and caregivers are always close by, and they do monthly staff trainings and keep up with vaccinations for Covid and flu. The community doesn't have a waitlist, and they offer short-term or respite stays starting at $150 per day, depending on care. Residents, their families, or friends can talk to Executive Director Nina Taylor if there's a complaint that needs attention.

Mirabella's part of Sagora Senior Living® and follows equal opportunity housing rules, with wheelchair accessibility throughout the property. Residents can stay as long as they want thanks to the aging-in-place setup, which means they aren't forced to move if care needs grow. Families can visit, and there's a resident portal to check events and information. The staff focus on safety, wellness, and making life easier, providing compassionate care and support for daily living, with a calm, lovely setting that tries to feel both welcoming and steady for all kinds of seniors.
