    Spacious comfortable home, caring staff

I moved into a spacious, comfortable apartment and quickly felt at home. The staff are friendly, attentive and genuinely caring, the building is clean, safe and well-run, and the meals are gourmet and varied. There are tons of activities, great amenities (pool, transportation, on-site services) and a welcoming community - I'd definitely recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews portray Ridgmar Place as a large, active independent-living community with many strengths in social programming, dining, and resident amenities, alongside recurring operational challenges. The community atmosphere and the array of activities—bingo, exercise classes, pool programs, happy hours, monthly bus outings and live entertainment—are frequent positives. Many families and residents described friendly, caring staff, helpful move-in support, clean public spaces, and well-maintained grounds and common areas. Apartments that feature full kitchens, in-unit laundry options, larger floor plans, and walk-in showers receive consistent praise.

Care quality and clinical support: For residents who are largely independent, reviewers commonly cited satisfactory day-to-day assistance, on-site therapy/medical services, and coordination with home-health providers. However, there are notable concerns about the facility’s ability to meet higher-acuity needs. Several accounts indicate gaps in clinical staffing, inconsistent medication or nursing follow-up, and challenges managing residents with cognitive impairment. These patterns suggest the community is stronger as an independent-living option than as a setting for residents requiring frequent clinical oversight.

Staff and communication: Many comments highlight warm, compassionate interactions from caregiving and activities staff and positive experiences with tour and sales personnel who offered supportive move-in assistance. At the same time, communication and responsiveness are uneven: front-desk responsiveness, long hold times, delayed callbacks, and fragmented coordination between departments recur as pain points. High staff turnover and leadership changes were mentioned as contributing to variability in follow-through and consistency of service.

Dining and housekeeping: Dining is a central feature for many residents. Several reviewers praised the chef-driven meals, special-event dining, and overall variety. Counterbalancing that, others described inconsistent meal portions, reduced weekend or evening service, and a decline in menu continuity or quality over time. Housekeeping and linen service are offered but are inconsistently delivered according to a number of reviews; biweekly schedules are convenient for some but inadequate or uneven for others.

Facilities and maintenance: The physical campus offers desirable amenities—an indoor saltwater pool, fitness areas, salon, library and underground parking—and many reviewers found public areas clean and well-kept. Recurrent operational issues include elevator outages, delayed repairs, HVAC and water-intrusion problems, and occasional sanitation or pest-control concerns in individual units. These maintenance items, when they occur, have a clear impact on resident satisfaction and safety perceptions.

Management, billing and policy patterns: Positive notes include helpful move-in coordination and staff who address individual needs. Negative patterns center on billing disputes, unexpected extra charges, rent or fee increases shortly after move-in, and perceived sales pressure or apartment-placement mismatches. Several reviewers described slow or inadequate responses from management when problems arose, contributing to a perception of inconsistent leadership and follow-through.

Notable patterns for prospective families: Ridgmar Place tends to work well for active, independent seniors who prioritize social life, on-site services, and apartment amenities. Prospective residents with higher medical or memory-care needs should assess clinical staffing and response capabilities carefully. Tour experiences vary but often include strong hospitality; however, verify meal-service schedules (especially weekends), housekeeping frequency, pest-control protocols, elevator reliability, and billing practices before commitment. Overall, the community offers many desirable features, but operational variability and service consistency are important areas to confirm during any visit or lease review.
