    Loving staff and excellent care

I'm very pleased with this facility - the staff are loving, kind, and friendly, and there's a comforting sense of God's presence throughout. The DON is excellent and goes out of her way; I recommend it for respite and long-term care with caring nurses - a near-perfect place where residents are well taken care of.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews for Timber Ridge Health & Rehab Center are markedly mixed, with some families describing attentive, compassionate nursing and an involved director of nursing, while others report significant care-process failures. Positive comments focus on individual staff members who provide kind, friendly interactions and on the facility functioning acceptably for short-term respite stays. Negative comments emphasize operational patterns that affected basic daily care and safety for certain residents.

Care quality concerns center on inconsistent delivery of routine personal-care tasks. Multiple accounts reference irregular bathing schedules and inadequate oral-care follow-through, as well as instances where residents did not receive timely assistance with transfers or positioning. These accounts indicate broader process and staffing issues rather than isolated events, suggesting a need to verify standard operating procedures for hygiene, incontinence care, and repositioning.

Staff responsiveness and mealtime assistance are recurring themes. Several comments describe delays in answering call lights and gaps in feeding support, which can compromise nutrition and comfort for residents who require hands-on help. Therapy services are described as variable โ€” some residents receive appropriate rehabilitation, while others experienced limited engagement or minimal therapy follow-through. These patterns point to variability in frontline staffing levels, training, or task prioritization.

Dining and nutrition continuity are areas of concern. Reports of missed or delayed assistance during meals imply that mealtime protocols and staff allocation may be inconsistent. Prospective families should inquire about assistance procedures during dining hours, supervision for residents who require feeding help, and contingency plans for missed meals.

Facility cleanliness and safety monitoring are also mentioned. Several statements raise sanitation and monitoring concerns and highlight situations perceived as potential safety risks. While some families were comfortable with the environment, others felt the facilityโ€™s monitoring and response systems were insufficient, indicating uneven performance across units or shifts.

Management and communication show a mixed picture. Positive feedback highlights an accessible, caring director of nursing and compassionate individual caregivers. Conversely, other comments describe limited responsiveness from administrative staff and ineffective social-work support for families. This contrast suggests inconsistent leadership presence and variable communication practices with residents and families.

Notable pattern: experiences appear polarized โ€” some families report satisfactory or excellent care, particularly for respite stays, while others describe substantial operational shortcomings that they felt created risk for residents. For families evaluating this facility, recommended due diligence includes observing staff interactions, asking for written care schedules (bathing, oral care, repositioning), reviewing mealtime assistance and therapy plans, and clarifying leadership accountability and family-communication pathways. These steps can help gauge whether the facilityโ€™s practices align with the needs of a particular resident.

About Timber Ridge Health & Rehab Center

Timber Ridge Health & Rehab Center sits just off Highway 190, right past First Bank and Trust, down a short driveway, and when you get inside, you'll see this place holds 114 beds in a skilled nursing facility, and the rooms come furnished with private bathrooms, cable TV, kitchenettes, telephones, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi, so residents have the basics for comfort, plus an emergency call system watches out for safety around the clock. People find walking paths and well-kept gardens outside to enjoy fresh air, and there's a game room, movie theater, activity room, fitness programs, music, arts, and scheduled daily programs inside, so life never feels lonely or dull, especially with resident-run and community-sponsored gatherings, and if you want a book, the library is a nice quiet place to sit for a while. Folks get restaurant-style meals all day in the dining room, and the kitchen can work around allergies and diabetic needs, all under the care of a professional chef, which makes eating easier and safer for everyone, and the wellness room and spa provide a bit of extra comfort if you need to relax or recover after some effort.

Skilled nursing care is available for long-term stays or as part of short-term rehab after hospital visits, illness, or surgery, and that means things like medication management, help with bathing or dressing, transfer assistance, plus 12 to 16 hours of active nursing care each day, all coordinated by a medical director, doctors, nurse practitioners, licensed nurses, dieticians, and pharmacists on staff who check in and adjust care as needed. Speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy happen on-site for those who need to regain strength or handle memory issues, and there's even a focus on chronic conditions and special memory care for people with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, not forgetting the need for nutritional counseling along the way. Timber Ridge accepts both Medicare and Medicaid for financial help, and the management, RightCare Management, has been handling things since August 2015, keeping the place accredited by the Joint Commission, holding an A+ on recent inspection ratings, no severe deficiencies, zero substantiated complaints so far this year, and generally maintaining steady quality with long-term and short-term care ratings landing at B+ or above for a good stretch now.

Move-in help, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and parking are all there to take some weight off residents and families, and both resident and family councils give people a chance to talk about improvements or concerns, because the staff, made up of local folks with years of experience, aims to serve each resident and the community with respect and love, trying to keep life as home-like as possible no matter the level of care needed, even right up to end-of-life support when times get hard, so dignity and kindness remain central to care at Timber Ridge Health & Rehab Center.
