    Compassionate clean communicative care home

I'm very pleased with the compassionate, family-like staff who go above and beyond - residents are well cared for, the facility is spotless and welcoming, and the activities, therapy and meals are excellent. Administration and nursing communicate well and make transitions easy, so I'd confidently recommend this home.

    Summary of reviews

Ridgecrest Manor presents a mixed but largely positive picture for many families and residents. Numerous reviewers praised the caregiving staff as compassionate and family-like, and several accounts highlight strong skilled nursing, rehabilitation therapy, and attentive nursing teams that support transitions, dialysis transport, and end-of-life comfort. The facility is frequently described as welcoming and home-like, with a cheerful activity program that includes outings, themed events, holiday programming, music, dancing, and hands-on crafts. Administration and social services are often characterized as accessible and proactive, with staff who involve families in care decisions.

Dining and amenities receive varied but generally favorable comments. Many reviews commend appetizing meals, portion sizes, special dietary accommodation (including renal-focused options), and pleasant extras such as snacks and themed treats. Personal grooming services and recreation offerings are commonly noted as strengths. Physically, parts of the facility are described as clean, well maintained, and decorated to create a vacation or home-like feel; outdoor spaces and views were also appreciated.

Despite these strengths, a set of consistent operational concerns emerged. Reviewers described variability in staff conduct and communication tone, with some families experiencing abrupt or unhelpful interactions. Multiple accounts point to delays in call-bell responses and challenges coordinating emergency transport or timely clinical escalation. Medication-administration timing and broader medication-management practices were flagged as an area requiring attention. There are also recurring comments about inconsistent housekeeping or sanitation in certain units, issues around personal-item handling, and occasional dining-quality variability.

More serious single-incident themes appear in a minority of accounts, including allegations of missing personal belongings and concerns following a resident's death and possible infection-control issues. These items suggest the need for transparent communication and robust incident-response protocols. Additionally, families noted phone-system problems and long hold times that impede family communication, along with periods of staffing shortages and variable leadership experiences that may affect consistency of care.

For prospective residents and family members, the substantive pattern is one of strong caregiving and therapeutic strengths combined with operational variability. Recommended topics to address during a tour or intake conversation include: current staffing levels and turnover rates, call-bell response times and emergency protocols, medication-administration procedures, infection-control policies and recent incident histories, personal-belonging and laundry procedures, and how the facility communicates with families (including phone availability). These questions can help clarify whether Ridgecrest Manor’s positive culture and clinical resources align with a particular resident’s needs and expectations.

About Ridgecrest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation

Ridgecrest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation, managed by Saber Healthcare Group, has 120 licensed beds and covers both short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, you see, and there's no current waitlist for moving in, which some families find important. This facility gives attention to different care levels, like skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, and even memory care for folks who need a safe, structured setting. There's a dedicated front desk for general questions, and the nursing and therapy staff handles a full range of health services including medication help, physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy, wound care, palliative support, IV therapy, and pain management.

Ridgecrest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation is equipped with a ventilator unit and a pulmonary rehab program, so people with breathing issues like COPD, asthma, chronic lung disease, and those needing post-acute airway or ventilator care will find specialized help here, which isn't so common everywhere. Their respiratory therapy team knows what to do for folks with sleep disorders, pulmonary hypertension, and neuromuscular respiratory problems, using tools like BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and careful ventilator management, and staff gets ongoing training so skills stay current. People can come for short stays after surgery, long-term needs, respite breaks, or for palliative care, with therapy and care plans set up to fit individual needs and goals to help everyone reach better independence.

The place has both private and semi-private rooms, daily rates depending on the type of room, and while it's first and foremost a care facility, there are little comforts like outings around town and weekly ice cream socials on a covered patio in the warmer months. Ridgecrest Manor carries the 2020 Quality Initiative Recognition from the American Health Care Association, mainly for work done in lowering hospital readmissions, improving satisfaction, reducing certain medications, and helping people regain mobility. You'll find a caring group here, managed by Ms. Courtnie Lawson, who aim to look after the whole person's wellbeing, with medical, social, and rehabilitation services under one roof.
