    Warm attentive staff, homelike atmosphere

I moved my mom in and have been very pleased - the staff (from on-site caregivers to the executive director and nursing leadership) were warm, attentive and genuinely supportive throughout the move-in. The place feels like home: big, cozy rooms, home-cooked meals and shared dining, family-style activities (crafts, bingo, ice cream socials, movie nights), a wooded backyard with a screened deck and comfy seating, and caring, involved ownership and management - I recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Bright Faith Senior Living - Victorian Home receives a mix of positive and concerning impressions. Many reviewers describe a warm, home-like environment with engaged owners and staff, comfortable communal areas, and a family-style approach to living. The setting — a rural, wooded property with a screened rear deck and roomy common spaces — is frequently praised as inviting and cozy. On the activities and lifestyle side, families mention regular programming (crafts, bingo, movie nights, ice cream socials) and communal, home-cooked meals that support social dining.

Care-quality impressions are mixed. Several accounts praise direct-care staff for sensitivity, attentiveness, and support during move-in and routine care; reviewers also note that management and nursing leadership can be personally involved and responsive on site. However, other reviewers raise operational concerns that bear on care: inconsistencies in management oversight, variability in staff training and conduct, and gaps in clinical-incident response and family communication. These issues include reports of disrespectful interactions and instances where staff tone or behavior undermined resident dignity.

Facility-related strengths include spacious rooms and a generally clean, well-maintained interior in many areas, along with comfortable furnishing and a welcoming living room with a large television. Dining and activities are clear strong points for residents who value shared meals and regular social programming. At the same time, reviewers identified practical facility limitations: several rooms lack private en-suite bathrooms and some residents may be in shared rooms, which can affect privacy and suitability. There are also specific sanitation and incontinence-care protocol concerns and intermittent odor issues cited for certain bathrooms or common areas.

Operationally, reviewers raised red flags around equipment and supply handling — for example, damaged or poorly maintained devices and lapses in how personal items and toiletries are managed — suggesting weaknesses in inventory, maintenance, and supply-management controls. Communication during clinical events (including transfers to emergency care) was described as uneven in some accounts, and some families expressed frustration about how incidents were handled and communicated by staff and leadership.

Overall, Bright Faith Senior Living - Victorian Home appears to offer a warm, community-oriented atmosphere with committed caregivers and engaging programming, which may suit residents seeking a small, home-like environment. Prospective residents and families should balance those strengths against reported operational weaknesses: ask about current staffing stability and training, sanitation and incontinence protocols, equipment maintenance procedures, bathroom configurations and room-sharing policies, and the facility’s process for communicating and managing clinical incidents. An in-person visit that includes a tour of private rooms and common areas and conversations with both management and front-line staff will help clarify whether the home aligns with a particular resident’s care and privacy needs.

About Bright Faith Senior Living - Victorian Home

Bright Faith Senior Living, also known as Victorian Home or Victorian Castle, sits back from the road in New Berlin, Wisconsin, with a wooded backyard and a screened-in porch that gives the place a quiet, homey, village feel, and you'll find staff around the clock, including a team of CNAs and a house administrator, ready to help seniors with many different needs, whether that's independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, or memory care, and they handle everything from home care (non-medical), home health care (Medicare-Certified), and adult day services, to long-term care and hospice care, so folks with health concerns like Alzheimer's or dementia get focused memory care therapies, support from visiting doctors, and custom care plans made just for them, while others may stay active with crafts, bingo, movie nights, and ice cream socials, or join in group meals at a big dining table, with home-cooked meals made by CNAs and dietary plans that fit each resident. The place is set up for people who want to live independently and those who need help with things like bathing, dressing, medication, therapies, and transportation, offering housekeeping, laundry, salons, fitness areas, a big living room, a kitchen or kitchenette, Wi-Fi, and safety features, and even though there are about 20 staff members, they manage to keep things feeling personal, letting seniors join activities, get care from nurses or podiatrists, use wheelchairs or walkers with help, and relax in rooms with things like cable TV and washers and dryers. Families might find peace of mind knowing there's a 3.7-star average based on three reviews, and the cost ranges between $2,210 and $10,075 per month, so it's important to ask plenty of questions about which services are covered. The laboratory on site, once run by lab director Brendt Johannsen, is now closed, but the facility keeps detailed records on labs and offers professional services and training, with information about available and closed labs for those who need it. Seniors and their families can schedule visits, look at inspection records, and find resources about levels of care, financing options like Medicare and Medicaid, and advice for caregivers, making it easier to choose care that fits.
