    Highly recommended memory care community

I placed my parent here and am very pleased. The staff are consistently friendly, professional and attentive; the building is very clean, light and bright with beautiful, secure grounds and lots of activities (art classes, counseling, outings to Wal-Mart/VA). Meals, on-site laundry and personalized memory care make daily life easier - overall a comfortable, well-run community I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Wi Veterans Home - Boland Hall presents as a large, secure veterans-focused facility with several institutional strengths. The campus emphasizes safety and controlled access, with visible security presence and a sign-in procedure at entry. Grounds and interiors are described as bright, well-maintained, and welcoming; landscaped outdoor areas are enclosed for resident use. The facility includes an on-site laundry amenity and a distinct memory-care neighborhood, and staff assistance with admissions and the waitlist is described as transparent and helpful.

Care quality is characterized by individualized care planning and an overall sense of resident safety and comfort. Reviewers frequently describe staff as professional, knowledgeable, and attentive, and the facility offers counseling and therapeutic services alongside clinical supports. However, continuity of care may be affected by frequent staff turnover and leadership changes; this variability appears to influence residents' day-to-day experience and suggests the need for ongoing training and supervisory consistency.

Dining and nutrition are operational strengths in that meals are provided (notably lunch and dinner) and the community supports dining flexibility and resident events. At the same time, there are observations about inconsistent nutritional balance in meals, indicating room for improved menu planning to better meet dietary needs. Programming is robust, with transportation to shopping and VA appointments, art classes, anger-management programming, and other resident activities contributing to an active atmosphere.

Operational and facility-level concerns center on staffing stability, training consistency, and some sanitation/laundry process issues. These include instances that point to gaps in laundry handling and related cleanliness protocols; such issues may reflect broader workflow or staffing constraints rather than isolated incidents. Management has been described as helpful during admissions but also as experiencing turnover, which may affect long-term operational polish.

Overall, Boland Hall offers a secure, well-appointed environment with a range of services suited to veterans, including memory-care options and therapeutic programming. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facilityโ€™s strengths in safety, programming, and personalized care against operational challenges such as staff and leadership turnover, nutrition planning consistency, laundry/sanitation processes, and cost. Visiting the campus, meeting current care staff, and discussing staffing continuity and quality-improvement plans will help assess fit and address specific concerns prior to placement.
