    Caring staff and resort-like community

I live here and have been very impressed - the staff are caring, friendly and provide excellent personalized care (they supported my stroke recovery with on-call PT/OT and water therapy). The community feels new, clean and resort-like but homey: large, well-laid-out rooms (1-bedrooms with kitchenettes), indoor pool, gym, movie theater, library, puzzle room, bakery/bistro, gardens and walking paths. Dining is restaurant-style with menu choices and flexible meals, plus nightly happy hour/open bar; activities are plentiful (quilt shows, craft fairs, cribbage/game nights, holiday events, excursions) and residents are outgoing. Pet-friendly, convenient to my daughter, great value - only wish there were a few more social options.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for New Perspective Waukesha is strongly positive, with consistent praise for the facility's amenities, staff, and overall atmosphere. Reviewers repeatedly describe the community as new, clean, well-organized, and resort-like while still maintaining a home-like feel. The physical plant receives high marks: large, well-laid-out apartments (including one-bedrooms with kitchenettes), tasteful decorations, fireplaces in many rooms, indoor pool, movie theater, fitness room, library, puzzle room, bakery, bistro, and numerous communal spaces. The grounds and adjacent features—gardens, walking paths, and proximity to a church—add to the appeal, and being dog-friendly with pet amenities is repeatedly noted as a positive differentiator.

Care quality and clinical supports are highlighted as strengths. Multiple reviewers call out attentive, caring, and personalized care—specifically noting good personal care for a stroke patient—and that memory care and therapy services are available on-site. The availability of on-call physical therapy, occupational therapy, and water therapy is an important practical benefit for residents with rehabilitation needs. Reviewers also emphasize supportive and knowledgeable staff; staff friendliness and helpfulness are recurring themes, and individual staff members (e.g., Penny) are singled out for praise, indicating consistent, positive staff–resident interactions.

Dining and food service are frequently mentioned in favorable terms. The community offers restaurant-style, menu-based dining with flexible options, set meals as well as menu selections, and waitstaff service. Several reviewers praised the food quality, the ambiance of the dining room, and convenient options such as meals delivered to rooms when needed. Nightly happy hour and an open bar are cited as features that contribute to the social, resort-like atmosphere. The presence of a resident pianist, bakery, bistro, and special dining events further reinforce the community’s emphasis on a pleasant dining experience.

Activities and social programming are abundant and varied, contributing substantially to resident engagement. Reviewers list a wide range of regular and special events: card games, cribbage and game nights (with cribbage boards available), puzzle groups, crafts and quilting shows, themed events (state fair, Fourth of July, Kentucky Derby), Christmas sweater contests, excursions, movie nights, and other social gatherings. The presence of a lively activities calendar, communal entertainment spaces, and opportunities for both structured and casual interaction appear to create an outgoing, social resident culture.

Despite the overall positive picture, a minority of reviewers noted some limitations around activities and social options. A few comments suggested that certain residents felt there could be more or different types of social programming, indicating occasional gaps between the existing offerings and some residents’ preferences. This appears to be the primary recurring area for improvement rather than a broad operational or care shortcoming. No systemic issues with cleanliness, safety, or staff competence were reported in the supplied summaries.

In summary, New Perspective Waukesha is consistently portrayed as a high-value, well-managed senior living community with strong amenities, attentive staff, and robust programming. Its combination of clinical supports (therapy services, memory care), appealing physical amenities (pool, theater, fitness, bakery/bistro), and a warm social environment (friendly staff, active events, restaurant-style dining, pet-friendly policies) produces a resort-like yet homey living experience that many reviewers strongly recommend. The only notable caveat from the reviews is a desire from a small number of residents for additional or different social/activity options, which could be an area for management to review and further diversify programming to meet varied resident interests.

A caregiver forum and online support resources help families stay involved and connected, and New Perspective Waukesha gives virtual tours and visits so people can see the whole community before moving in. Amenities are designed for seniors who want to stay active, make friends, and feel at home, and the place takes hospitality seriously with careful listening and a kind approach from team members.
