Rock Springs Young At Heart, sitting at 2400 Reagan Avenue in Rock Springs, Wyoming, has served the Rock Springs and Sweetwater County community since 1973 as a senior center and community hub, and the place really grew after its big renovation in 2009 when folks decided to add more features for everybody, young and old alike. You'll find it's a spot that offers all kinds of help, from child day care at the Young at Heart Early Learning Center, which helps with education and care for infants and children, to in-home health services and home-delivered meals for seniors, plus wellness outreach. The Young at Heart Senior Center holds meals, daily activities, and different wellness programs that keep older adults active, connected, and healthy with the help of a caring staff and a familiar routine, and there's also a cozy adult care home where residents can get independent or assisted living and still feel part of a friendly community.
Families come by for Monday Night Dinner at 6:00pm, and the building's hours run pretty early from 6:30am to 6:00pm during the week, so there's always something going on, and there's a board of directors that helps keep everything working smoothly with guidance from Executive Director Jamie Loredo. Folks can use meeting and event spaces, sign up for education outreach, join in social activities from the posted meal calendar and activities list, and get help through caregiver support or rental programs like those from the Sweetwater Family Resource Center, which throws in things like rental assistance, too. The whole center works kind of like a big, comfortable home for everyone, aiming to make sure every neighbor, no matter their age or need, can find a place to belong, get meals or help, meet with friends, and enjoy some decent company while taking part in the day's activities or the next community event.
