    Renovated units, pricey, safety concerns

I toured and moved my mom here - the renovated one-bedrooms are nice, handicap-accessible, covered parking, gated community and centrally located for Alpharetta shopping. There are plenty of social activities for the 55+ crowd, clean common areas, and friendly staff members (Pam was very informative). However, rent is high and unpredictable, they require income verification and three months of bank statements, and leasing feels pushy/aggressive with incentives that vary by lease term. I'm very concerned about safety - residents reported car break-ins and even a carjacking in the garage, and management's response was poor or dismissive. No central dining or meal plan, transportation and some activities have been cut, and I saw issues like apartments not ready and occasional pests. Overall: great independent-living amenities if you can afford it, but weigh the safety and management problems before committing.
