    Decent value, needs better leadership

I live here and there's a lot I like - affordable, spacious unit with in-unit washer/dryer, convenient location, clean common areas, good activities, friendly staff and a warm tour (shoutout to Judi). Maintenance is usually helpful and the place feels like good value. But management is inconsistent: the resident manager can be nosy and rude, regional staff abrupt, and inspections (HUD and otherwise) feel intrusive and harassing. The building is aging - elevator and water outages, worn appliances, spotty Wi-Fi, small parking - and safety concerns (break-ins/car theft) and unresponsive higher-level management worry me. Rules feel selective, residents aren't always listened to, and rents climb; overall I'd call it decent for the price but it needs better leadership and security.

    About Greentree Glen

Greentree Glen Senior Apartments sits over in Madison, WI, and folks there will see it offers a mix of care options like assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, respite care, board and care, and independent living, as well as an active adult 55+ community, and they call some of their programs and room features special names, which some residents seem to like or at least find clear for getting around the place, and the apartments themselves are made for easy access, so someone with a walker or rolling chair should be able to manage and you'll find features such as bathtubs and wheelchair accessible showers in the living spaces, which is helpful if you want those things, and you also get appliances like stoves and dishwashers in-unit but sometimes folks say they can break and not get fixed right away except during emergencies. The main conveniences include resident or visitor parking, and residents can pay extra for transportation if needed, so it's possible for family and friends to come by or for people to get to appointments when they don't have a car. Greentree Glen has both indoor and outdoor common spaces so you can join a group for movie night or sit out for a game under the trees, though some say the landscaping looks a little rushed or fake, and there's on-site activities, off-site devotional services, and even on-site beautician services for those who need them, and the place allows cats for pets, which is rare in some buildings. There are meals and dining options, along with health care services including help with daily tasks or medication, and they offer personalized support to help people stay as independent as they're able. Residents can choose from independent, assisted, or memory care living depending on what they need, and those looking for short-term help can use the respite option if a caregiver needs a break. Social programs like game nights and movie screenings keep people active, and improvements such as a new exercise room and brighter lighting have been added recently. The management helps with lease signings and move-ins, but some people have called them unresponsive or even rude, and complaints about slow maintenance, except for emergencies, do come up. There's on-site and off-site activity choices, like going to devotional programs if you want, and the rooms include bathtubs for easy bathing, plus folks can smoke outdoors and in private indoor areas if they wish. Security has had an issue now and then, with a mention of a car theft incident, but many residents still say they're satisfied overall with what the place offers, and Greentree Glen remains one of the easier-going senior communities around if someone's looking for a straightforward lifestyle in Madison.
