    Compassionate attentive home with activities

I placed my mom here and I'm very pleased with the compassionate, attentive, professional team-the owner is a nurse and staff truly go above and beyond. The home is warm, clean and accessible with beautiful gardens, fresh nutritious meals and daily activities (gardening, exercise, crafts, outings and tea time) plus clear communication and safety measures. My mom is happier and stronger, the staff feel like family, and I gladly recommend this caring, well-run place.

    Summary of reviews

The aggregated reviews portray Our Butterfly Home as a small, owner-operated residential setting that emphasizes a family-style, personalized approach to senior care. Across accounts, families highlight the compassionate, attentive nature of the caregiving team and the owner’s clinical background, which reviewers associate with consistent clinical oversight and adherence to guidelines. Accreditation and transparent family communication (including frequent FaceTime check-ins) are noted as organizational strengths that contribute to families’ confidence in placement and care continuity.

Care quality is depicted as primarily focused on individualized well-being rather than high-acuity clinical interventions. Reviewers consistently describe staff who provide hands-on, attentive support and who create a warm, respectful presence. The facility’s holistic approach—blending nutrition, movement, meditation, and social engagement—appears to have measurable benefits for residents’ mood and physical condition according to family reports. Staffing is characterized as dedicated and familial; several comments describe staff “going above and beyond,” demonstrating professional knowledge and responsiveness.

Dining and daily living are emphasized as distinguishing features. Meals are described as freshly prepared, nutritious, and seasonally presented, with particular attention to salads, fruit, and a mid-afternoon tea ritual. Reviewers praise culinary creativity and variety, tying the dining program to both enjoyment and perceived health benefits. Activity programming is broad for a small setting: gardening, exercise classes, meditation, crafts, games, puzzles, computer activities, and organized outings are routinely mentioned. Outdoor gardens and a focus on safe distancing during activities are cited as contributors to a pleasant, engaging daily routine.

Facility and management patterns reflect a small, well-kept home environment: reviewers note cleanliness, accessibility, privacy, and attractive gardens. The small scale supports a close-knit atmosphere that many families prefer for social and emotional reasons. At the same time, that small scale points to operational limitations that prospective residents and families should evaluate. Reviewers’ emphasis on the owner’s role and the intimate staff model suggests limited administrative redundancy; families should confirm staffing levels, weekend and overnight clinical coverage, and contingency plans. The facility appears best suited for residents who require attentive, personalized care and enrichment rather than intensive medical or specialized rehabilitative services.

In summary, Our Butterfly Home is consistently presented as a warm, well-managed, home-like option with strong interpersonal care, high-quality meals, and varied activities that support resident quality of life. Prospective families should validate clinical capacity and availability if a higher level of medical complexity or specialized therapy is anticipated, but for many seeking an intimate, nurturing residential placement the facility’s strengths align well with those expectations.

    About Our Butterfly Home

Our Butterfly Home sits at 207 College Ave W in Ruskin, Florida and offers assisted living, memory care, and board and care services in a small setting with only six beds, which makes the place feel less busy and more personal because the staff can focus on each resident, and with studio room layouts and furnished living spaces, folks can settle in comfortably and enjoy plenty of attention and help. This community supports seniors who want some independence but need help with daily things like bathing, dressing, medication, and meals, and they also provide incontinence care and non-ambulatory care, so folks who have trouble moving around don't get left out. For folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, there's a secure area and special programs to help with memory and cognitive well-being, and everyone can join community activities, movie nights, and stay busy in the recreational rooms or outside in the gardens and walking paths, which helps people feel connected and active.

The team puts kindness first and makes sure visitors and residents feel welcome, and with a focus on personalized care, they check in regularly and coordinate with healthcare providers so nobody falls through the cracks. The meals get planned by skilled chefs and include options for diabetes, allergies, and special diets, and there's all-day dining or scheduled meals in the dining room, so nobody has to eat at a fixed time if they don't want to. There's an emergency alert system in place for quick help if a problem comes up, plus the community has 24-hour supervision, laundry and housekeeping services, and options for transportation and parking, which makes daily life a little easier for everyone.

Folks can count on friendly staff for help with moving in and with planning their senior living, and there's respite care too, so if a primary caregiver needs a short break, the community can provide temporary care. One thing people notice is the focus on respectful support and keeping everyone's dignity in mind, with a staff that keeps things joyful and upbeat, aiming to make every day feel a little brighter for residents. This place stands out in Ruskin by being the highest-rated community in town, with an average review score of 9.6 out of 10 from twenty reviews, and folks regularly point out the supportive atmosphere, good food, and the way the staff gets to know everyone personally, which is easier to do in a small home like this.
