    Caring rehab with clean facilities

I stayed here for rehab and was very satisfied. The facility is clean and well maintained, staff are caring and professional-nurses and therapists helped me regain independence-and the tasty meals, meaningful activities and spiritual supports created a warm, family-like atmosphere. Overall a reliable, attentive place I'd recommend to friends and family.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Golfview Nursing Center are highly mixed, with distinct clusters of very positive and very negative experiences. Many families and former residents praise the facilityโ€™s rehabilitation focus, describing strong outcomes from physical and occupational therapy and a personalized approach that helped people return home. Nursing, therapy, and CNA staff are often described as compassionate and hardworking, and the activities program receives frequent praise for being varied and engaging. Several reviewers highlighted attentive social-service and activity leadership and spiritual or emotional-support offerings as important strengths.

At the same time, a substantial set of concerns appears repeatedly. The most significant operational themes are inconsistent staff responsiveness (including long wait times for assistance and call-button reliability issues), gaps in medication administration and documentation, and weaknesses in fall-prevention and post-fall management. Families also describe problems with timely communication after incidents, delayed hospital transfers in some cases, and difficulty obtaining clear information from administration or clinical leaders.

Housekeeping and dining are another area of division. Positive comments describe clean, well-maintained areas, appealing meal presentation, and satisfactory food at times. Contrasting feedback cites sanitation and hygiene shortfalls in certain units, variable food quality and temperature control, and kitchen/service practices that require attention. Maintenance problems โ€” such as air-conditioning concerns, broken call systems, and noisy hallways โ€” were also noted and contribute to an inconsistent physical environment. Privacy is occasionally reduced by shared-room bathroom layouts, and visitor amenities and parking are described as limited.

Staff culture and management receive mixed evaluations. Many reviewers emphasize a supportive, family-like atmosphere and point to dedicated staff and strong therapy leaders. Others describe high staff turnover, changes in ownership or management, and instances of discourteous or short-tempered conduct by some employees. Administrative responsiveness is uneven: some families find leadership transparent and helpful, while others report unanswered phone calls and poor follow-through on complaints or discharge planning.

Taken together, Golfview appears to deliver strong rehabilitation and activity programming with many caring staff members, but consistent quality depends on unit-level practices and leadership stability. Prospective residents and families should consider an in-person visit focused on current staffing levels, cleanliness and maintenance in resident rooms and bathrooms, fall-prevention protocols, medication-administration procedures, and the facilityโ€™s family-communication processes. Asking to meet the therapy team, observing meal service, and reviewing recent incident-response policies may help clarify whether the facilityโ€™s strengths align with an individual residentโ€™s needs.

    About Golfview Nursing Center

Golfview Nursing Center sits at 3636 10th Ave. North in St. Petersburg, and is part of the HCA Florida Healthcare network, so you'll find this small, 58-bed for-profit facility offers assisted living, long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care. This place's rooms come furnished, and you can expect private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable TV, kitchenettes, and Wi-Fi, making it more comfortable for folks living there. Golfview accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care insurance, with both private rooms and semi-private rooms, and as of June 2025, they have 2 out of 56 beds available. Meals get prepared by a professional chef, and the dining room serves restaurant-style meals, even for people who have allergies or need diabetic diets, because they pay attention to that sort of detail. Residents can join in daily scheduled activities, music and arts programs, spiritual worships, and social events, and the place hosts special events like luncheons and holiday programs where family and friends are welcome, and they have a community library, a movie theater, a wellness room, gardens, walking paths, and fitness programs for health and relaxation, because everyone needs a change of scenery and fresh air once in a while.

People at Golfview get help with bathing, dressing, medication management, laundry, and personal care if they need it, and their nurses are there 12-16 hours every day, with 24-hour supervision and a call system so someone's always available, which helps families feel calmer knowing someone's watching out for their loved ones. If you need rehab, Golfview offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, wound care, and specialized programs, along with infusion therapy, oncology care, orthopedic care, and women's care, which is good for folks needing different medical attention during their stay. They've got a specialized memory care unit for people with dementia, including tactile and multi-sensory activities, and they design personalized care plans with input from the resident, their family, and the doctor, which makes sense because everyone's situation is different.

There's a salon and barbershop, housekeeping, washers and dryers, guest parking, and plenty of community spaces like activity rooms and game rooms, so nobody feels cooped up, and transportation services are available for appointments and outings as needed. Golfview's always open, has safety features like a sprinkler system for peace of mind, and is known for its warm, home-like feeling, friendly staff, and a focus on rehabilitation and positive outcomes. It's earned some recognition like a "Best of Senior Living" award and it's got good ratings for its short-term rehabilitation services, though its long-term care sits about average. This isn't a part of any continuing care retirement community, so it only focuses on nursing home care for people who need either short- or long-term skilled care, including people who need non-ambulatory care or help with transfers. Families and residents can join councils to talk about care quality and raise concerns, showing the staff tries to listen. Golfview's a small, personal, and clean place, founded as a family-based organization in 2010, dedicated to helping senior folks with a caring, family-like atmosphere, and offers different ways for residents to keep busy, engaged, and as comfortable as possible.
