    Bright, clean community; excellent care

I chose this community for my mom and I'm very pleased - bright, clean, recently updated rooms and common areas with top-notch, caring nursing and activities staff. The dining is excellent, there are always activities and outings, and residents seem happy and engaged. Leadership and staff are professional and warm, so it truly feels like home and I'd recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Wentworth Central Avenue elicits strongly polarized impressions. A substantial portion of reviewers praise the facility for compassionate direct-care teams, a robust activities program, appealing dining under a professional chef, and a well‑maintained, recently renovated environment. Positive accounts describe attentive nursing staff, regular clinical visits and on-site therapy, thorough housekeeping and laundry services, and a variety of apartment sizes with private bathrooms, terraces, and bright common areas. Families frequently highlight creative activities leadership, frequent outings and transportation, and a warm front‑desk and hospitality presence that helps residents feel at home.

At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns that prospective families should evaluate during a tour. Staffing consistency and turnover appear as a persistent theme: while many staff are described as dedicated and personable, reviewers also describe chronic understaffing, resignations in nursing leadership, and uneven caregiver continuity. These patterns have been associated with delays in responding to call lights and nighttime assistance, and with lapses in medication administration and overall medication-management controls. There are also several accounts raising infection-control and sharps-handling practice concerns, which suggest the need for clear facility policies and documentation on clinical safety protocols.

Dining and activities are frequently cited as strengths, with many residents enjoying varied menus, accommodations for dietary needs, daily activity calendars, and regular outings. However, some reviewers noted variability in meal delivery and service speed, occasional shortages or cold food, and limited activity coverage on specific days. Facilities are generally described as clean and updated, with many reports of recent remodels, modern furnishings, and bright communal spaces. Conversely, a minority of reviews describe specific sanitation or pest-control incidents and localized housekeeping issues that indicate variability in environmental management across units.

Management and communications present a mixed picture. Several reviews praise recent leadership changes and increased transparency, while others describe administrative unresponsiveness, frequent director turnover, and inconsistent follow‑through on family concerns. Privacy and personal‑property management gaps (for example, issues with shared-room barriers and clothing organization) were raised, as were questions about value relative to price where service consistency was lacking.

Overall, Wentworth Central Avenue offers many features families seek—engaged activities, appealing dining, renovated living spaces, and caring frontline staff—but the facility also shows operational variability in staffing, medication and clinical practices, environmental controls, and administrative consistency. Prospective residents and families should tour with focused questions about staffing ratios by shift, medication administration protocols, infection-control practices, night‑time response times, memory‑care supervision, pest‑control policies, and recent leadership stability, and should request documentation or examples of corrective actions taken for any cited incidents prior to making a placement decision.

    About Wentworth Central Avenue

Wentworth Central Avenue is a senior living community offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care options within three stories, and there are studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, with apartments including private balconies, kitchenettes, and accessible bathrooms with safety bars and shower seats for comfort and safety. The grounds feature outdoor gardens, patio areas, and covered seating surrounded by greenery, and there's a purpose-built secure memory care building with technology and staff trained to prevent wandering, manage exit-seeking, and give behavioral support for residents who may act out or are at risk of getting lost. Residents enjoy common rooms with large couches and TVs, a game room for billiards or cards, a library with computers, plus a bistro café with rustic brick walls and a country store feel, where they can have coffee or snacks.

The dining room provides neatly set tables with a welcoming atmosphere, meals are made from scratch, and the kitchen accommodates special diets, with guest meals and private dining rooms available for special occasions. Amenities include a fitness center with equipment like treadmills and weight machines, a beauty salon, pet-friendly policies allowing cats and dogs, and outdoor and indoor areas for relaxation or socializing. There are daily activities for social, cultural, and religious interests led by an activity director, from art and brain fitness to walking clubs, jewelry making, and offsite trips, plus weekly happy hours. The staff and onsite nurses are available 24/7, with visiting professionals such as podiatrists, dentists, therapists, and nutritionists helping with care.

For health and safety, residents get support with bathing, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, medication management, and more, with personalized care plans, emergency alert systems, regular safety and fall risk checks, as well as onsite home health, hospice, and respite care as needed. Memory care services use custom support plans, adaptive equipment, secure spaces, and structured activities to promote cognitive health and reduce confusion. Assisted living residents receive discreet help with everyday tasks, including escorting and companionship, and staff help oversee medications. Transportation for appointments and errands is provided, with parking for residents and guests.

The community holds a calendar full of social and recreational opportunities, devotional services, and gathers everyone for easy connection between residents and staff. Apartments and suites are designed for accessibility, and most have warm décor and inviting seating areas. Apartments start at $2,925 for one-bedroom units. The property promotes aging in place, so as care needs grow, most residents can keep living in the same community. Amenities and programs focus on supporting both needs and wants so everyone can maintain health, comfort, and community.
