    Friendly staff great food peace

I had a smooth move-in and immediately felt at home - the staff are warm, friendly and genuinely family-like (special thanks to Ashley Pfaff, Haydee Alvarez, Nadja Mobley and dining staff Sheila and Kenny). My first-floor one-bedroom is bright, nicely decorated and spacious, housekeeping and move-in help were excellent, and the pendant alarm/onsite care give real peace of mind. Great food, plenty of daily activities and outings, beautiful grounds and attentive staff - I highly recommend Addington Place.

    Summary of reviews

Addington Place of East Lake is consistently described as a clean, well-appointed community with hotel-like touches, pleasant grounds, and a broad set of resident amenities. Reviewers praise the physical plant — modern common areas, landscaped walking paths, pool, salon, home theater and activity rooms — and many residents enjoy spacious apartments with balconies or lanais. Move-in assistance, help with apartment setup, and weekly housekeeping and laundry are standard features that families and residents frequently cite as helpful.

Staffing and direct care performance are a mixed but central theme. Many accounts commend warm, compassionate, and skilled employees, with particular recognition for specific front-desk, dining, and nursing personnel who provide strong coordination and resident engagement. At the same time, there are recurrent operational concerns: clinical staff turnover, periods of understaffing, and instances of long waits for assistance after call buttons are activated. These patterns have led some families to conclude the community is best suited to independent or low-dependency residents rather than those needing consistent, higher-level clinical support. Several reviewers also noted that turnover included licensed nursing staff, which can affect continuity of care.

Dining and nutrition are another area with generally positive feedback but some variability. The kitchen and dining teams receive frequent praise for tasty meals, accommodating dietary needs (including low-sodium choices), social dining, and opportunities for seconds. However, other reviewers described smaller portion sizes or a perceived decline in food quality at times, and a few accounts connect such variability to staffing or operational transitions.

Programming and social life are strong points for the community. A wide slate of activities — arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, bingo, happy hours, outings to restaurants and retail, and spiritual offerings — supports an active social environment. Residents and families commonly note that the activity schedule and transportation options contribute substantially to resident satisfaction and social engagement.

Facility-level issues described across reviews include intermittent construction noise during remodels, some apartment accessibility shortcomings (notably limited bathroom grab bars or railings in particular units), and administrative inconsistencies such as phone responsiveness. While housekeeping is noted as thorough on a weekly schedule, some families feel that frequency or scope may be insufficient for residents who require more hands-on assistance. There are also comments indicating operational variability after ownership or management changes; some reviewers perceive improvements over time, while others describe transitional declines in lines of service.

In sum, Addington Place of East Lake offers a well-maintained, activity-rich community with many staff who are highly regarded by residents and families. The community appears to deliver strong social programming, attractive amenities, and helpful move-in and housekeeping services. Prospective residents should weigh those strengths against operational patterns that suggest limited capacity for higher-dependency care: ask specific questions about staffing ratios, call-response times, turnover history, accessibility modifications, and how the community manages continuity during staff transitions. Visiting at different times of day and speaking with current residents and nursing leadership can help families assess whether the community’s current level of clinical support matches their care needs.

About Addington Place of East Lake

Addington Place of East Lake sits in an upscale part of East Lake, Tarpon Springs, right beside a nice nature preserve, and there's a calm feel with a bit of scenic quiet all around, so you get peace as well as community, and the buildings themselves have recently been fixed up, with modern apartments that offer open layouts, private porches, and a choice for residents to decorate their suites with furniture or keepsakes from home. The community covers a variety of living options-independent living for active seniors, assisted living with help for daily needs like bathing, dressing, and medicine, and a memory care program for adults living with Alzheimer's or other dementia, where thoughtful design and staff supervision work to limit confusion and wandering. Trained, caring staff stay on site around the clock, lending support for personal chores and offering friendly company too, and there's also skilled nursing care available for anyone who needs more ongoing help than assisted living provides, with the ability to adapt care plans if health changes over time.

Addington Place of East Lake takes pride in its array of activities, several of which have received awards, and the life enrichment program builds a packed calendar-things like fitness classes, creative workshops, devotional gatherings both inside and out, parties, bingo, rummikub, and casual happy hours with music or themed dinners, along with group outings to restaurants, banks, grocery stores, or just to enjoy fresh air outside by the pool or in the shared areas. The facility remains pet-friendly, handicap accessible, and provides high-speed Wi-Fi for residents wanting to stay connected with family or friends. Health support ranges from scheduled visits by doctors and specialists like podiatrists, to help with physical therapy during weekdays and supervised showering if needed, and there's always the chance to chat or send a message to residents directly. For meals, chefs and planners prepare nutritious food each day, aiming to keep both taste and health in mind, served in a comfortable dining room atmosphere.

The boutique-sized setting means residents get personal attention and more chances to make friends, and most suites offer space to make it feel like home. Safety, support, and staying busy are part of daily life, and there's a clear effort to encourage everyone's active role in community-whether joining games, leading activities, enjoying outdoor relaxation, or just swapping stories indoors. Addington Place holds a state license (#10331), has earned high marks for its activities, resident engagement, and staff friendliness, and keeps focus on flexibility so care can match what each person wants or needs. Beautician services come onsite, and both scheduled and resident-led events aim to keep spirits high. Those looking for comfort and a reliable helping hand can find both social connection and support at Addington Place of East Lake.
