    Excellent rehab and attentive staff

I've been very pleased with the rehab and skilled nursing here - therapists and nurses were knowledgeable, attentive, and helped my dad regain strength. The facility is beautiful, spotless, and well-equipped (spacious private rooms, exercise room, even mini-golf), and staff kept our family informed and comforted throughout his stay. Overall a very good, caring, resident-centered place that gave us real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

PruittHealth - Rome receives frequent positive comments for direct caregiving and rehabilitation services. Many families describe the nursing and CNA staff as compassionate, attentive and willing to provide extra support; reviewers consistently highlight strong physical-therapy outcomes, an effective rehab program, and therapists who accelerate functional progress. Several accounts note 24/7 clinical availability and a personal touch in resident care, with staff who help families understand medical status and support difficult decision-making. The facility's physical plant is also praised: clean, well-maintained interiors, recent renovations, spacious private rooms, technology-enabled resident amenities (touch-screen TVs/tablets), and appealing outdoor spaces and activities such as a large exercise room and mini golf.

Dining and daily-life offerings are a mixed picture. A number of families appreciate the food and comfortable common areas, but others note inconsistency in meal quality and temperature; a recurring theme is food that arrives cold or lacks perceived nutrition. Activity and amenity offerings (exercise rooms, shaded decks, seating areas) are generally seen as positives, though renovation work has created occasional disruptions and some common-area cleanliness or seating maintenance issues during those times.

Operationally, the predominant concerns center on communication, care coordination, and staffing. Reviewers describe inconsistent administrative follow-up when families raise questions, and a pattern of gaps coordinating care with outside physicians and specialty clinics; this has, in isolated instances, contributed to delayed laboratory testing, IV therapy, or outpatient appointments for memory-impaired residents. Several families also reported long response times to call lights and that staffing shortages sometimes affected timeliness of assistance. These patterns extend into nonclinical systems as well — including phone-system reliability and billing or insurance coordination — which some families characterized as difficult to resolve and in a few cases escalated to formal complaints with external agencies.

In summary, PruittHealth - Rome is viewed by many families as a well-kept, rehab-focused center with caring staff and strong therapy outcomes that can provide peace of mind and effective short-term recovery. At the same time, prospective residents and families should be aware of recurrent operational issues: variable family communication and administrative follow-through, intermittent staffing and response-time challenges, dining inconsistencies, and occasional disruptions from renovations. Those considering the facility may want to verify specific care-coordination practices (especially for residents with complex medical needs or memory impairment), confirm how family notifications are managed, and clarify billing/insurance processes during the admission discussion.

    About PruittHealth - Rome

PruittHealth - Rome sits in Rome, Georgia and is part of the PruittHealth network, and it's a skilled nursing facility with room for 100 residents, though on an average day about 91 people live there, and folks are mostly in studio room layouts, often furnished with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable TV, phones, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi for some comfort and connection, and the building puts forward spaces like a dining room with all-day dining, restaurant-style meals, prepared by a professional chef, with dietary choices for allergies and diabetes, while also offering common areas like a library, game room, movie theater, fitness and movement rooms, a spa and sauna, gardens, outdoor seating, walking paths, and various arts and activity rooms so residents can pick what suits them. People who live here get help with transfers, bathing, dressing, daily living activities, and medication management, along with 12-16 hour nursing, 24-hour supervision, and those extra care services like post-acute rehab, skilled nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, memory care, palliative and hospice care, and even Home First and infusion services, plus a pharmacy and medical supplies under the same roof. This place also lets residents and families organize councils to talk about concerns, and it's part of a larger Continuing Care Retirement Community, so residents can move through different care levels as their needs change, and Medicaid and Medicare are both accepted, which helps a lot of folks. According to reviews-about nine across the web combined-PruittHealth - Rome scores a solid 8.2 out of 10. Nurse staffing is above the state average, with about 3.8 hours per resident per day, and nurse turnover is lower than most nursing homes in the state, but like most places, it does have its problems, including nine cited inspection deficiencies in the most recent report-for example, there was an issue with infection control that was tagged as immediate jeopardy, some problems with how food was handled, and rights connected to care plan participation, so these are things potential residents and their families might want to look into closely. Even so, the staff stays focused on supporting the folks who live here, aiming to help each person keep a good quality of life, with options for rehabilitation, activities, music, arts, scheduled programs, and supportive services as they're needed, and over the years the community has built up experience in caring for adults in various stages of health.
