PruittHealth - Rome sits in Rome, Georgia and is part of the PruittHealth network, and it's a skilled nursing facility with room for 100 residents, though on an average day about 91 people live there, and folks are mostly in studio room layouts, often furnished with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable TV, phones, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi for some comfort and connection, and the building puts forward spaces like a dining room with all-day dining, restaurant-style meals, prepared by a professional chef, with dietary choices for allergies and diabetes, while also offering common areas like a library, game room, movie theater, fitness and movement rooms, a spa and sauna, gardens, outdoor seating, walking paths, and various arts and activity rooms so residents can pick what suits them. People who live here get help with transfers, bathing, dressing, daily living activities, and medication management, along with 12-16 hour nursing, 24-hour supervision, and those extra care services like post-acute rehab, skilled nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, memory care, palliative and hospice care, and even Home First and infusion services, plus a pharmacy and medical supplies under the same roof. This place also lets residents and families organize councils to talk about concerns, and it's part of a larger Continuing Care Retirement Community, so residents can move through different care levels as their needs change, and Medicaid and Medicare are both accepted, which helps a lot of folks. According to reviews-about nine across the web combined-PruittHealth - Rome scores a solid 8.2 out of 10. Nurse staffing is above the state average, with about 3.8 hours per resident per day, and nurse turnover is lower than most nursing homes in the state, but like most places, it does have its problems, including nine cited inspection deficiencies in the most recent report-for example, there was an issue with infection control that was tagged as immediate jeopardy, some problems with how food was handled, and rights connected to care plan participation, so these are things potential residents and their families might want to look into closely. Even so, the staff stays focused on supporting the folks who live here, aiming to help each person keep a good quality of life, with options for rehabilitation, activities, music, arts, scheduled programs, and supportive services as they're needed, and over the years the community has built up experience in caring for adults in various stages of health.

Excellent rehab, but communication issues
I'm grateful my dad received excellent short-term rehab - eight weeks including hip surgery and MRSA treatment - with outstanding therapists and a caring, skilled staff. The facility is beautiful, spotless and rehab-focused with nice amenities and COVID-safe visit options; the 24/7 personal touch and regular updates gave us peace of mind. That said, we experienced serious care-coordination and communication lapses: doctors didn't follow through, billing and care changes were handled poorly (staff stone-walled us), phone system problems and slow responses caused stress. Overall he improved and I appreciate the team, but I recommend the place with caution about oversight and communication.
