    Warm, clean, safe, attentive staff

I toured and moved my mom in and have been very pleased. The staff - especially Sharon Rice and StacyAnn - are warm, knowledgeable and hands-on; management communicates clearly and knows residents by name. Rooms are clean, spacious and updated, meals are good, and the activities/wellness programs keep everyone engaged. It feels safe, home-like, and has given our family real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Ashbrook presents a mixed but informative profile for prospective residents and families. The facility is frequently described as modern, clean, and spacious with several communal amenities and active programming that contribute to a home-like environment. At the same time, a sustained pattern of administrative instability and financial changes has generated significant concern among families, particularly around affordability, communication, and property upkeep.

Care and staff: Care quality is a clear strength in many accounts. Caregivers and nursing staff are often characterized as compassionate, respectful, and attentive; staff are frequently described as knowing residents by name, providing personalized attention, and involving families through photos and updates. Memory-care programming is described as individualized and emotionally supportive. However, these positives are tempered by reports of staffing turnover and use of temporary agency personnel; where staffing is inconsistent, reviewers express concerns about continuity of care and training.

Dining and housekeeping: Descriptions of dining are mixed. Several families praise varied menus, tasty meals, and accommodating dietary needs, while others cite variable food quality and kitchen staffing problems that led to dissatisfaction. Housekeeping is generally described as adequate in common areas, but some units—particularly older cottages—are said to experience uneven housekeeping and sanitation, occasional odor concerns, and limited in-room cleaning schedules.

Activities and social life: The activities program receives frequent positive mention: an engaged activities director, a full calendar (games, fitness, bingo, outings), and opportunities for socialization that help residents form friendships. That said, reviewers also note intermittent lapses in programming or periods with less engagement when key activity staff are absent.

Facilities and amenities: The central building is often described as clean, updated, and well maintained, with generous common space, private bathrooms in memory units, a salon, library, and dining areas. Apartment layouts are described as roomy, and grounds are quiet and pleasant. Concerns cluster around the cottage units: some cottages are distant from the main building, and several older cottages show deferred maintenance, deteriorating porches, and localized pest-control or odor concerns.

Management, transparency, and finance: The most recurrent operational issues concern management stability and financial practices. Reviewers note multiple management/ownership changes, abrupt and substantial rent increases (including short notices), and high or unclear fees, which have led to moves-out and anxiety among residents on fixed incomes. Families report limited responsiveness from administration on billing, repairs, and policy explanations. Conversely, some accounts highlight periods of strong, hands-on leadership that improved communication and care quality; these contrasts suggest outcomes are sensitive to current leadership.

Patterns and considerations: The overall pattern is one of a facility with solid caregiving, robust social programming, and attractive shared spaces, but with operational vulnerabilities tied to management turnover, fiscal decisions, and inconsistent maintenance/staffing. Prospective residents and families should verify the current management structure, request written policies on rent-increase procedures and notice periods, ask for recent examples of maintenance response times, clarify housekeeping and meal-service schedules, and confirm whether cottages are near central services. Visiting at different times of day and speaking with current families can help assess consistency of care and programming under present leadership.

About Volante Senior Living of Ashbrook

Volante Senior Living of Ashbrook sits at 75 Herrell Rd in Villa Rica, Georgia, in a quiet suburban spot with trees and open space that feels like home, and people living there need to be a certain age to move in, so you won't see many young kids running around, and most of the folks are seniors who want company or need care as they age. The place offers assisted living, independent living, and memory care, along with nursing home and home care services, so residents can stay put as their needs change, and that means they can get extra help with things like bathing, dressing, taking medicine, eating meals, or getting in and out of bed if they start needing more support over time. The place gets strong ratings from families and residents and has won awards for its quality, and the staff include licensed nurses, aides, and people trained in memory care and other health issues like diabetes or dementia, and they're always around-day or night-in case someone has an emergency or just needs a hand.

Volante Senior Living of Ashbrook has private rooms, studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and even cottages, with some fully furnished and some where residents can add their own furniture, and all have little kitchenettes, private baths with safety bars, walk-in closets, and either cable or satellite TV so everyone can keep up with their favorite shows, plus there's high-speed Wi-Fi and climate controls in each unit, and wheelchair access throughout the community makes it easy for residents to get around, while the security gate, alarm systems, and emergency buttons help people feel safe. Residents can enjoy three meals a day made by chefs in a restaurant-style dining room and snacks and drinks are easy to grab, with menus that work for special diets like diabetes, vegetarian, kosher, low salt, or low fat, and those with allergies can get accommodations, too. If someone needs their medicine managed, the staff can do that and there's even an onsite pharmacy, which is handy for refills.

Daily life comes with a long list of activities and groups, from garden clubs and arts and crafts in the community arts room to game nights, Wii bowling, live music, musical groups run by the residents themselves, and book clubs, plus church services, educational talks, fitness classes like chair yoga, and outings around town if someone wants to get off campus, with free transportation provided for medical appointments or quick trips to the store. The outside is set up with gardens, walking paths, enclosed and open courtyards with seating, and the beauty salon and barber shop help everyone keep up with haircuts or get pampered a bit. People who want to volunteer or join faith-based activities can do so, as there are Christian services and support, and extra touches like a fireplace, rec room, small library, movie nights, a private gathering space, and activity rooms give everyone somewhere to go and something to be a part of.

Housekeeping, laundry, meal delivery to your room, move-in help, and personal care-including things like dressing, bathing, and reminders-are available for each person, and respite stays can give caregivers a break or help someone recover after time in the hospital. Residents in memory care get specialized programs that help with memory, reduce confusion, and keep them safe with secure areas and staff trained to handle wandering or challenging behaviors, using tools like validation therapy and sensory activities. For medical needs, in-house nurses, on-site health services such as podiatry, therapy rooms for physical or occupational therapy, and support for chronic conditions are all there, and there's even skilled nursing and in-home care for those who choose it, plus notary and VA aid assistance if needed.

Pets are allowed if they fit the breed and size rules, parking is available for both guests and residents, and the place welcomes people who smoke and those who need flexible visiting hours, making it a bit more relaxed than some places. The building is on one level, which cuts down on falls and makes it easier for folks with walkers or wheelchairs, and both independent people and those with more medical needs can find someone to help quickly, thanks to the call and alert system that's monitored around the clock. There's an entry fee and an all-inclusive pricing setup, with payments by check or credit card, and the fee structure's pretty clear. The feeling here is about comfort, being valued, and finding the mix of peace and social life every resident wants, rather than everyone matching the same schedule. Volante Senior Living of Ashbrook stands out for its steady care, strong staff training, and honest focus on wellness and independence in a safe, warm place.
