    Outstanding caring senior living community

I moved my mom here and I'm very impressed: staff are warm, attentive, and servant-hearted, the building is modern and spotless with lovely grounds, and the restaurant-style dining (chefs, homemade desserts, great menu variety) is outstanding. Amenities and activities are plentiful - salon, fitness, theater, outings - and leadership is hands-on, which gives us real peace of mind. I'd recommend this community to others looking for quality, caring senior living.

    Summary of reviews

Legacy Living Florence is consistently described as a new, well-maintained community with extensive amenities and a strong emphasis on hospitality. The campus features multiple living options (independent townhomes, assisted living, and memory care), generous common spaces — including a movie theater, game room, chapel, salon, fitness center, library with computers, and pub-style space — and well-kept grounds with a central courtyard. Architectural and interior finishes are frequently characterized as modern, bright, and clean, and residents and visitors often remark on the attractive landscaping and comfortable communal areas.

Care quality and staffing are prominent themes. Families and visitors commonly describe staff as compassionate, attentive, and personable; many accounts emphasize individualized attention, name recognition, and thoughtful transition support at move-in. Memory-care programming receives repeated positive mention for its safety, engagement, and staff responsiveness. At the same time, reviewers point to operational limits: staffing levels can feel stretched during peak periods, and the community may not be the best fit for people who require high-acuity nursing care. There are also intermittent reports of delays in responding to requests, which suggests variability in responsiveness during busier shifts.

Dining is a central strength of the community. The food program is frequently praised as chef-driven and restaurant-style, with a broad menu, daily specials, cook-to-order options, and seasonal or housemade offerings. Dining staff and kitchen leadership are singled out for personalized service and engagement with residents. A few housing configurations appear to have constraints around meal access (for example, limited included meals or additional charges tied to certain townhome arrangements), which may affect residents who have mobility limitations or expect fully integrated meal plans.

Activity programming and rehabilitation services are robust. The community appears to invest in a full activity calendar that includes music, arts, outings, exercise classes, and social events; reviewers describe frequent visiting artists, bus outings, games, and purposeful opportunities for physical and cognitive engagement. On-site therapy services (physical and occupational) and transportation for errands and trips are available and frequently noted as conveniences that support independence.

Operational patterns to weigh when considering residency include accessibility and unit features. Some main-building units lack in-unit washers/dryers (while many outer townhomes do have them), and a few reviewers described challenges with unit temperature control that required management attention. There are also recurring notes about affordability; while pricing communication at tours is described as transparent, monthly rates and one-time costs may be a barrier for some households. Finally, although management and the executive team receive praise for responsiveness and a hands-on approach, occasional scheduling or coordination gaps were mentioned.

In sum, Legacy Living Florence projects as a hospitality-focused, amenity-rich community with a strong culinary program, active social life, and compassionate staff—particularly well-suited for seniors seeking an engaging independent or memory-care environment. Prospective residents and families should confirm specific operational details that affect daily living (in-unit laundry, included meal counts, temperature control, and staffing levels during peak care needs) and evaluate whether the community’s care model aligns with higher-acuity clinical requirements and individual budget constraints.

    About Legacy Living Florence

Legacy Living Florence sits on a scenic spot looking out over the west side of Florence and the rolling fields and trees of Northern Kentucky, and the community has a mix of 28 Independent Living Town Homes and 71 Assisted Living apartments-some studios, some with one or two bedrooms, some with basements-and 29 Memory Care apartments, which means folks can find a living situation that fits their needs, and many of the town homes come with attached garages, full kitchens, Internet, and back patios. Residents get amenities like maintenance-free living, lawn care, trash, snow removal, no extra utility bills or property taxes, and around-the-clock staff and Care Team support, plus the campus has a full emergency response system at your fingertips, and a friendly executive director named Gwen Reverman keeps things running. Independent living comes with kitchen appliances, garages, meal plans, porches to enjoy the views, WiFi, and scheduled transportation to appointments and outings, so you can keep things simple as you age, while assisted living residents get help with medication, bathing, grooming, and more, from personal attendants trained for the job.

The Memory Care neighborhood is built especially for people with memory loss or cognitive concerns, using Teepa Snow's "Positive Approach Care" philosophy, with a Care Team that works with folks using the "Hand-Under-Hand" technique, and there's both indoor and outdoor options, like a courtyard, and specialty spaces for hobbies such as textile work or woodworking, and even doll therapy. The campus has helpful features like a fitness center, indoor and outdoor fire pits, a spa, a theater, chapel, well-stocked library, and a pub for daily happy hour; there are also communal dining rooms, chef-prepared meals with quality ingredients, and programs for games, movies, hobbies, facilitated day trips, and entertainment, so people can find activities they enjoy and see visiting performers. Shared spaces offer free WiFi and cable, there's a computer station, and pet-friendly policies mean that residents can bring a companion pet for a fee, though there are restrictions on size or breed to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

Housekeeping and laundry services are built in, transportation services run regularly, and there's no worry about home maintenance, so those who want to enjoy life without chores can focus on hobbies, socializing, or wellness programs. Rehabilitation and skilled nursing are available for those who need more support, and respite care is also on offer for short stays. The staff, known for being quick to respond and for their compassion and kindness, work hard to make Legacy Living Florence a comfortable, friendly place, and they stick to person-centered care which respects each resident's needs and wants. Application fees and deposits run $500 each, with rent and care fees that change depending on your level of support, and tours are available if you want to get a sense of the dining, daily life, and activities for yourself. This is a place that offers different care and housing types, supports independent and assisted living, helps those with memory concerns, keeps nutritious food on the menu, and tries to make everyone feel at home in the community.
