    Bright, spotless building; excellent meals

I moved into Stonehaven after a great tour with Marlie Derynck and I'm very satisfied overall. The new building is bright, spotless, and comfortable-my one-bedroom with a balcony has lovely views. Staff are friendly, professional, and responsive; the chef-prepared meals (and desserts) are excellent, and there's a lively calendar of activities and weekly outings that keeps residents engaged. It feels safe, home-like, and supportive-I'd recommend Stonehaven for independent living.

    Summary of reviews

Stonehaven Senior Living presents as a modern, amenity-rich campus with many strengths in resident-centered services and social programming. The physical plant is frequently described as new, bright, and well maintained, with apartments that include balconies and pleasant views, underground heated parking, a theater, library, and a wellness center. Housekeeping and maintenance services are included, and the community is described as pet-friendly. These facility features support a comfortable independent-living experience for residents seeking low-maintenance housing and on-site conveniences.

Care and staffing are commonly highlighted as central strengths. Reviewers consistently describe staff as compassionate, attentive, and familiar with residents by name; many families reported feeling reassured by on-site clinical resources and physician visits. The community advertises age-in-place options, private apartments with optional in-home assistance, and proximity to additional health providers—attributes that support transitions from independent living to higher levels of care when needed.

Dining and programming are prominent positive themes, with chef-prepared, nutritious meals and a variety of dining options noted. The activity calendar appears robust and varied: chair exercise classes, yoga, trivia, bingo, movies, happy hours, weekly outings, spiritual services, and special events are all part of the community culture. Reviewers emphasize a strong sense of community engagement, frequent social opportunities, and staff-led programming that helps residents remain active and connected.

At the same time, a set of operational concerns emerges across reviews. Several accounts describe leadership and staffing turnover that has affected day-to-day consistency, with consequential issues in dining-service continuity and perceived variability in program delivery. There are specific concerns about changes to the memory-care offering and curriculum, and some families reported difficulty securing assisted-living or memory-care placements because of limited availability. Communication with families has been described as uneven at times, particularly around program changes and staffing transitions.

Taken together, the pattern is of a community with strong core strengths—facility quality, hospitality-style dining (when operating smoothly), active programming, and an engaged staff culture—but also one experiencing transitional challenges in management and service continuity. Prospective residents and families who prioritize a new facility, active social life, and attentive direct-care staff are likely to find Stonehaven appealing. Those who require guaranteed, immediate access to assisted-living or memory-care placement, or who prioritize absolutely consistent dining and program delivery, should ask targeted questions during a tour about current leadership stability, staffing levels, memory-care curriculum and availability, and any recent or planned service changes.

Overall, Stonehaven appears to offer a warm, well-appointed environment with many features that support resident quality of life. The most important patterns to monitor are managerial transitions and their effect on operational consistency; clarifying these operational matters in person will give the clearest sense of current performance and fit for an individual resident's needs.
