    Warm staff and seamless care

I moved my mom here and we've been very happy - the staff (Taylor Soli and Julie included) were warm and helpful from tour through settling and made the transition between independent, assisted and memory care seamless. The community feels like home: clean, safe, well-maintained, with wonderful food and plenty of activities (crafts, music, outings) that have helped my mom become more engaged and even show cognitive improvements. Convenient location and genuinely caring staff - we're grateful to have found this place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Inver Glen Senior Living is generally described by families and visitors as a well-maintained, attractive campus with a strong emphasis on social programming, familiar staffing, and high-quality dining. Many accounts emphasize personalized, name-based interactions, continuity of staff across levels of care, and a lively activities schedule that includes crafts, games, music, outings, and intergenerational programming with an on-site preschool. Several families reported positive changes in mood and cognition after moving in, and the facility’s campus amenities (dining rooms, community rooms, library, workout room, laundry) and retail-adjacent location are frequently cited as conveniences.

Care and staff: Reviews consistently praise staff warmth, individualized attention, and a low turnover culture that supports continuity of relationships. That continuity across independent living, assisted living, and memory care is a recurring strength: families appreciate having the same dining and activity experiences as care needs change. At the same time, a subset of reviewers raised clinical concerns that should be considered during evaluation. These include gaps in direct-care aide credentials and training, perceptions of under-staffing in memory care, and specific medication-administration and pain-management issues. Those clinical concerns are significant operational items to verify directly with leadership (staffing ratios, training programs, medication-safety protocols, and on-call nursing coverage).

Dining and activities: Dining is a clear strength in many accounts — reviewers describe appealing meals, spacious dining areas, and a welcoming invitation to join for supper. A la carte options and regular grocery-shopping support add practical flexibility. Activity programming is broad and active, with daily options such as bingo, cards, crafts, live music, visits with preschoolers, and organized outings; families commonly note high resident engagement and opportunities for socialization.

Facilities and operations: The physical plant receives positive comments for being new, immaculate, well-lit, and well-maintained in common areas. However, a pattern of inconsistency emerges around housekeeping at the unit level; while common areas are often described as pristine, some private rooms were noted as not consistently clean. Admissions and management responsiveness is mixed: many reviewers praised specific directors and welcoming tour experiences, yet others described poor follow-up after inquiries and uneven leadership communication when concerns arise.

Notable patterns and guidance: The overall tenor of reviews is positive with meaningful strengths in culture, dining, and programming, but recurring operational issues deserve attention—particularly clinical staffing credentials, memory-care staffing levels, medication-safety practices, unit housekeeping consistency, and reliability of admissions follow-up. Prospective residents and families would be well served to verify these items during a visit by asking about staffing ratios and credentials in memory care, medication administration protocols and error-tracking, housekeeping schedules for private units, examples of leadership follow-up on family concerns, and the facility’s process for admissions callbacks. Observing a meal and an activity and speaking with the director about these operational topics can help confirm whether Inver Glen’s strengths align with a particular resident’s clinical and social needs.

    About Inver Glen Senior Living

Inver Glen Senior Living offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care apartments for seniors in a simple community setting, and the building stands out as the first LEED-certified senior housing project in the Twin Cities, so you know energy and design are taken seriously. The facility includes 103 units with floor plans like one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, and two-bedroom options ranging in size from 650 to 1154 square feet, each with a refrigerator, stove with self-cleaning oven, dishwasher, and microwave, and there's individually controlled heat and air conditioning plus all utilities in the rent, even apartment and building maintenance, snow removal, water, sewer, and trash pick-up which really helps keep things sanitary and tidy year-round. Inver Glen allows pets with some restrictions, and there's guest parking, outside gardens and walking paths, and inside amenities like complimentary laundry, a salon, a hot tub spa, dedicated entertainment and fitness spaces, and even a media center and library, so folks have plenty of places to spend their time. They serve three meals a day in the dining room with an in-house chef and dining team, plus daily continental breakfast and afternoon coffee and cookies for a homey touch, and community programs include morning exercise classes, bingo, crafts, live performances, field trips, and holiday parties, which keeps residents busy and connected, and there are also educational programs and on-site and off-site religious services.

Healthcare and safety seem like priorities since the facility has a fire and smoke detector system, sprinklers, a 24-hour emergency call system, scheduled transportation, and daily wellness checks, and a licensed RN helps design individualized service plans, so each resident gets care that matches their needs whether it's independent living, assisted care, or memory care for those with Alzheimer's or other memory loss, plus there's diabetic care and incontinence care as part of their offerings. Licensed nurses and trained staff are available part time, and home care, medication management, and housekeeping or laundry can all be added individually, and that flexibility helps match services to what a person might need as they age without feeling boxed in. Payments can be made by private pay, checks, credit cards, or some types of insurance, and financial guidance and home sale help are also available.

The community aims to keep people independent for as long as possible and they focus on safety, comfort, and togetherness by bringing in planned intergenerational programs with a preschool on site, so seniors and young children can interact, which is pretty unique around here. Residents sign a month-to-month lease for convenience and have access to both indoor and outdoor common areas, making the place feel welcoming and familiar, with staff known for professionalism and compassion, so families and residents have support for many of the ups and downs that come later in life. License number for the building is 387072.
