    Warm compassionate care, enriching programs

My family and I felt immediately at home - warm, skilled staff cared for my mother with genuine attention to detail, and the community was spotless and comfortable. The gardens, artwork, puzzle room and unique programming (including Metropolitan Opera screenings) made it intellectually and spiritually enriching while meeting physical needs. End-of-life care, including a bedside memorial and Procession of Honor, was profoundly compassionate; she died peacefully and felt treasured. I'm very satisfied and would recommend this wonderful home.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing that Carondelet Village provides compassionate, skilled care within a warm, community-oriented setting. Reviewers repeatedly highlight the staff — described as exceptionally warm, friendly, and skilled — and note that staff behavior contributes directly to residents feeling safe, treasured, and well looked after. Several accounts reference high-quality, personal care at critical moments (for example, a peaceful death and wonderful end-of-life care), indicating consistent competence and compassion in nursing, caregiving, and spiritual support.

Care quality emerges as a central theme. Reviewers specifically praise both routine care and end-of-life services: one family reported their mother died peacefully and another described a ‘‘wonderful end-of-life care’’ experience that included a bedside memorial and a Procession of Honor, which they called an incredible spiritual experience. Multiple reviewers said that the community meets residents' physical, intellectual, and spiritual needs, suggesting a holistic approach to wellbeing rather than care that focuses only on medical or custodial needs.

Facility quality and environment are also frequently noted. The community is described as super clean and very well maintained, with consistent mentions of artwork, gardens, and attention to aesthetic detail that make the place feel special and homelike. Specific amenities called out include a puzzle room and an on-site movie theater used for specialized programming such as Metropolitan Opera screenings. These physical features, combined with the maintenance and décor, contribute to the impression of a thoughtfully designed, comfortable living environment.

Programming and activities are emphasized as varied and enriching. Reviewers report that activities meet physical, intellectual, and spiritual interests; the presence of unique offerings (for example, Metropolitan Opera screenings) supports the view that programming is creative and tailored. The community is described as life-enriching, with ‘‘many small things’’ and unique programming that add up to a meaningful daily experience for residents. This breadth — from recreational puzzles to cultural screenings — is repeatedly framed as evidence of a robust activities program.

Small but meaningful touches recur in the reviews and help distinguish the community. Reviewers note ‘‘attention to detail,’’ artwork placements, gardens, and personalized gestures that convey dignity and respect: bedside memorials and ceremonial elements like the Procession of Honor are examples of how staff extend care into the spiritual and emotional realms. Multiple reviewers used language such as ‘‘wonderful home’’ and ‘‘real community,’’ indicating that the facility achieves a homelike culture rather than feeling institutional.

Notable patterns and limitations in the reviews: the feedback is uniformly positive and concentrated on staff quality, environment, programming, and end-of-life care. There are no specific criticisms or concerns raised in the supplied summaries, so no recurring negative themes can be identified from these excerpts. Likewise, some operational areas that prospective families often ask about — such as dining quality, pricing, staff turnover rates, or administrative responsiveness — were not mentioned in these summaries, so no conclusions can be drawn about those aspects from the provided data.

In conclusion, the reviews portray Carondelet Village as a well-kept, compassionate community with exceptional staff, enriching programming, and notable attention to spiritual and end-of-life needs. The combination of skilled caregiving, a welcoming culture, attractive surroundings (artwork and gardens), and creative activities (including cultural events in an on-site theater) forms a consistent narrative: residents and families feel safe, valued, and emotionally supported. If additional evaluation is needed, prospective residents or families may want to request information or direct experiences regarding dining, administrative processes, and operational metrics that were not covered in these review excerpts.

    About Carondelet Village

Carondelet Village sits near St. Catherine University in St. Paul's Highland Park area and stands as a continuing care retirement community where seniors can find different levels of support under one roof, so if someone needs independent living, assisted living, memory care, or long-term skilled nursing, they're all in one place, and that's handy for couples with different needs or those who want to stay put as needs change, and the community itself feels welcoming because it's tied to the Sisters Of St. Joseph of Carondelet and Presbyterian Homes and Services, putting a faith-based and spiritual touch to daily life. The property wraps around Carondelet Circle and includes things like wooded trails, prairie paths, rooftop gardens, and conservatories, and if someone enjoys crafts or working with their hands, there are dedicated studio spaces for ceramics, pottery, sewing, quilting, and woodworking, alongside rooms for fitness, a swimming pool, hot tub, wellness programs, and instructor-led classes. People can join programs for enrichment or attend spiritual activities, and there's a strong sense of holistic wellness, and for daily living, the dining options include a restaurant and café, plus meal programs that bring meals straight to residents if needed. Pets are welcome, which matters to animal lovers, and everyone living there can use the on-site library, pool, whirlpool, theater, salon, spa, the general store for daily items, and safe parking in a garage.

Within Carondelet Village, Oak Gables offers personalized long-term skilled nursing care, Pine Arbor serves as the memory care neighborhood where staff help people with compassion and understanding, Bethany Commons has assisted living apartments that support independence with help available in-home, and The Terrace senior apartments give people a place to live on their own with support around if needed. Apartment homes come thoughtfully designed and range in size and support level. The building has a controlled entrance, emergency response pendants, guest suites for visitors, and on-site maintenance and housekeeping. Transportation services help people get around for shopping or appointments, while laundry and cleaning take place regularly for convenience. Residents have access to resource services nearby, and can get specialized care like home health care, hospice, meals delivered to their apartment, and rehabilitative services if they're needed. They don't have to worry about moving if health needs change, because all levels of care blend within the same community, and social and wellness programs are planned around helping people stay active and connected. Market rate payment options are in place, so anyone interested would want to look into costs, and the entire setting puts a focus on providing seniors with the support and opportunities they need to stay vital, independent, and at home in a spiritually rich environment.
