    Caring staff, good food, safe

I'm very pleased with this facility - the caring, friendly staff (especially Edna) made my dad happy, the food is good, rooms are large, and the tour was pleasant. Miss Coffman, the admissions coordinator, helped with resources and made our smooth transition feel like family in a safe, drug-free place with a smoking yard.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a mixed picture of the facility: several accounts emphasize strong admissions support, welcoming staff, and comfortable housing, while other accounts raise operational safety and care-quality concerns. Positive comments focus on front-line interactions at intake, room size and condition, and meal quality. Negative feedback centers on episodes that suggest weaknesses in resident supervision, medication handling, and continuity of care.

Care and staff: Many reviewers praised individual caregivers and coordinators, describing staff as caring and family-like and singling out admissions personnel who provided resources and a smooth transition. These positives suggest strengths in initial orientation and some day-to-day caregiving relationships. Conversely, other reviews describe a lack of timely responsiveness and concerns about staff conduct; this contrast points to uneven execution of care routines across shifts or teams rather than a uniformly high or low standard.

Safety and clinical practices: Reviews include accounts indicating resident wandering and at least one event that required external emergency involvement, as well as instances of a resident not taking prescribed medication. Taken together, these items suggest gaps in perimeter security, supervision during higher-risk periods, and medication-management controls. Prospective families should verify measures such as secure exits, elopement-prevention protocols, and documented medication-administration policies.

Dining, activities and facilities: The facility is described as having spacious, pleasant rooms and a usable outdoor area that accommodates smoking, which can support resident comfort and outdoor time. Dining received favorable comments about food quality. There is limited information about structured activities beyond outdoor space; therefore, activity programming should be explored directly with management for residents needing engagement or therapies.

Management and notable patterns: Admissions and intake appear to be a consistent strength, with staff that facilitate transitions and provide information and resources. However, there is a pattern of variability after move-in—operational oversight, staffing consistency, and incident response appear uneven. This leads to divergent family experiences: some describe a supportive, well-run placement, while others report safety and responsiveness shortfalls. Those considering the facility should ask specific operational questions about staffing levels across shifts, medication protocols, security measures for residents at risk of wandering, and how the facility communicates with families after incidents.

    About Spring Manor

Spring Manor in St. Louis, MO, at 3610 Palm St., offers a range of living choices for older adults, with 94 assisted living beds, one-bedroom suites, studio apartments, and some communal living spaces if you want to share, some private rooms with kitchenettes and others more basic, so you can pick what fits. The place is set up for both short stays and long-term living, with help for people who need a little extra support like those dealing with Parkinson's, memory issues, incontinence, or needing diabetic care, with individual care plans and assessments to make sure everyone's needs get met. If someone needs assistance with bathing, dressing, transfers, taking medicine, or personal care like spoon feeding, trained staff and on-call registered nurses provide daytime care for 12-16 hours plus 24/7 supervision and a round-the-clock call system for help at any hour, and caregivers always available. You get regular cleaning like vacuuming and dusting, laundry service, move-in help, and help with medication, plus there's an emergency alert system in every room, so safety gets a lot of attention, with the whole place secured day and night.

Meals are important, so Spring Manor serves three chef-prepared meals a day-catering to special diets like diabetic or allergy needs-and has a restaurant-style dining room, a bistro, and even a private dining space for when you want company or family to join for something special, plus snacks and drinks. Social life gets a boost here, too; you'll find a game room, fitness room, a garden and courtyard, library, activity rooms, walking paths, a hair salon, and regular movie nights, music, arts, chapel services, and even resident-led events to give people a chance to connect and stay active. Each room's air-conditioned, furnished, has a private bath, TV, Wi-Fi, phone, and regular housekeeping. Transportation is available for events and appointments, and there are spaces for business needs if you want to use a computer or make calls, plus high-definition TVs for watching shows. People who want more spiritual support have devotional activities and chapel service.

Spring Manor also provides respite care for temporary stays, home health services with trained aides if someone wants to stay home, and non-ambulatory care for those with mobility issues, so residents who need more nursing or memory care can get it without moving. Outside, parks and walking paths invite you for strolls when weather's good. Everything here focuses on building a comfortable, safe, and inclusive community where folks can feel like they belong while getting the help they need, offering plenty of choices so each person can live as independently as they're able in a peaceful environment.
