    Beautiful, spotless campus, caring staff

I'm very pleased with St. Anns. The beautiful, spotlessly clean campus, bright dining and indoor pool are matched by varied activities (music, outings, cookouts), delicious flexible meals, and caring, responsive staff who make residents feel at home. They offer a full range of care and convenient on-site services-very desirable and I'd recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer impressions of Cherry Ridge are mixed but point to several consistent strengths and recurring operational weaknesses. Strengths most frequently described include a warm, resident-focused culture led by staff who are often characterized as compassionate and attentive. The community offers on-site clinical access, including primary medical and dental services, and a dedicated memory-care program with a defined memory room. Short-term rehabilitation services and a well-regarded rehab team are also frequently noted. The campus is described as modern and well maintained, with attractive independent-living cottages and apartments, in-unit laundry, single-floor circulation, and amenities such as a chapel, indoor pool, gift shop, and transportation services. Prospective residents commonly praise the admissions and marketing staff for being responsive and helpful during transition and onboarding.

Dining and activities are generally considered strong points. Many reviewers highlight high-quality, flexible dining with a varied menu, the ability to request special meals, and servers who build rapport with residents. The activity program is broad and active — examples include walking groups, exercise classes, arts and crafts, outings, music and performance events, and social meals — contributing to a purposeful social environment. Facilities upkeep, recent renovations, and clean, attractive common areas receive positive mention across multiple accounts.

Despite these positives, there are notable and recurring operational concerns. Accounts indicate inconsistent clinical care quality across units and shifts, with particular problems described on weekends and when substitute staff are present. Staffing variability and turnover appear to affect responsiveness, timeliness of call-button responses, and the consistency of personal-care routines. Reviewers also raised sanitation and incontinence-care concerns and cited instances that suggest gaps in medication management and in protocols for fall prevention and post-fall response. These issues have translated for some families into delayed follow-up with outside clinicians and missed appointments with visiting providers.

Capacity and care-continuum issues are another pattern. Some reviews indicate limited availability of higher-acuity assisted-living and skilled-nursing accommodations on campus, which can create longer waits or transfers outside the local community; marketing materials were perceived by some families as overstating the on-campus continuum of care. Operational details such as meal temperature and delivery reliability are inconsistent in certain cases, and a subset of reviewers raised concerns about personal-property security. Finally, cost structure and buy-in requirements for some assisted-living options were described as substantial, which is an important consideration for families comparing options.

Taken together, Cherry Ridge presents as a community with strong amenities, engaging programming, and many staff members and teams who deliver thoughtful service. However, the facility shows variability in core elements of long‑term clinical operations: staffing consistency, sanitation and personal-care routines, medication controls, and capacity for higher-acuity care. Families considering Cherry Ridge should weigh the community’s social, dining, and rehabilitation strengths against these operational risks; a focused tour should include conversations about staffing ratios and weekend coverage, specific medication and fall-prevention protocols, sanitation oversight, and the availability of higher-acuity units or transfer pathways.

    About Cherry Ridge

Cherry Ridge is a senior living community where folks can find independent living, assisted living, memory care at Rainier Grove, and skilled nursing at St. Ann's Care Center, and the place really focuses on offering a range of care all in one spot, so people can age in place and not have to move around if their needs change, which is something people seem to appreciate, and the grounds are kept up nicely with walking paths, garden areas, outdoor patios, and some charming cottages and apartment homes that come in one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts, all designed to be maintenance-free and easy, and for those who love their pets, yes, pets are allowed in both apartments and cottages and even in assisted living, which is handy for animal lovers. The staff's always around, twenty-four hours a day, and the campus has security and emergency call systems throughout, so safety's clearly a priority, and they go out of their way to make things accessible with elevators, wheelchair access, and wide hallways, so people don't have to worry about getting around.

All the rooms for residents are private, and both the cottages and apartments come with full kitchens, washers, dryers, cathedral ceilings, and some even have attached garages, so it's really like a little home, and if you don't feel like cooking, meals are taken care of by chefs-three fresh, nutritious meals every day, restaurant style, with the choice to eat at a cafe or in the bistro, and they'll bring meals to rooms if someone's not up for the dining room, and for those who want spiritual support, there's a chapel, regular devotional services, and even a full-time pastoral care team, and people can attend Mass if they wish. For social life and staying active, there's always something happening, with arts and crafts, fitness classes run by a wellness coach, plenty of educational and entertainment events, trips off campus, and community gardens to tend to or just relax in, and the inside common areas have lounges with fireplaces, a library, a computer lab, a craft room, and even a bocce ball court outside, so there are plenty of ways to spend the day.

Cherry Ridge also offers transportation for outings and appointments, plus help with things like laundry, weekly housekeeping, daily bed making, snow removal in winter, and in-house maintenance, so people don't need to worry about chores piling up, and for those needing extra care, the staff can help with things like medication, bathing, dressing, and there's even a wellness program with access to doctors, nurses, and rehab. There's a special focus on people living with dementia or Alzheimer's at Rainier Grove, where they keep routines familiar and staff are trained for memory care; their skilled nursing at St. Ann's is a 5-star rated program with private rooms, country kitchens, wound care, and support for those who need more hands-on help, plus discharge planning for when folks are ready to return home.

All utilities are included except for cable and phone, so bills are simple, and the community uses an online system for bill pay and donations, which some may find handy, and there are services such as care management, spiritual support, podiatry, wound care, and adult day services for those who aren't full-time residents but need extra care during the day. The community offers respite care for short stays, and there's a focus on privacy and respect for personal information, and at Cherry Ridge, you'll see the staff are known for being helpful, kind, and joyful, and whether you want a busy schedule or a quiet spot in the garden, there's space for both. People who come to Cherry Ridge often say it feels like a private sanctuary, and everything is set up so seniors can keep enjoying life, keep their independence, or have help on hand if they need it.
