    Therapy-driven recovery; clean, caring staff

I'm very pleased with this facility - beautiful, exceptionally clean, and well maintained, with caring, responsive staff who manage meds, meals and therapy on time and communicate proactively. Therapy and nursing produced real recovery, activities and amenities are plentiful, and the team feels like family; I'd recommend it for short- or long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer feedback for Franciscan Villa is strongly polarized: many families and residents describe highly attentive, professional care—particularly in rehabilitation services—while others describe serious operational lapses that affected clinical outcomes and family trust. The facility’s rehabilitation programs (physical and occupational therapy) and several long-term care staff members receive consistent praise for therapeutic skill, individualized progress plans, and positive resident engagement. Multiple reviewers also highlighted recent remodeling, clean common areas, a secure entry, and practical resident-room features that support mobility and personal comfort.

At the same time, a recurring cluster of concerns suggests variability in day-to-day operations. Staffing levels and staff continuity are a frequent issue—high turnover and outsourced staff contribute to uneven performance, especially on nights and weekends. Reviewers describe long waits for assistance, unanswered call lights, and differences in responsiveness between day and night shifts. These staffing disparities appear to correlate with other operational problems: inconsistent supervision, transfer and fall-prevention gaps, and delays in timely toileting or repositioning.

Medication management and clinical communication are major themes in the more critical reviews. Concerns include delays in administration, dose inconsistencies, medication discontinuations without clear family communication, and at least a few accounts of serious medication-related events. In addition, reviewers reported problems with communication to families and external providers (including hospitals), occasional abrupt or poorly coordinated discharges or transfers, and deficiencies in property tracking when residents move between units. These issues have generated significant trust and safety concerns for some families.

Dining, housekeeping, and facility upkeep receive mixed feedback. Several reviewers praise nutritious, home-style meals and a clean, odor-free environment in renovated areas; others note limited menu variety, reheated meals, and uneven cleanliness or maintenance in older wings (peeling wallpaper, odor concerns, intermittent hot-water or Wi‑Fi problems). Activities programming is generally viewed positively—bingo, outings, religious services, and social events are cited as meaningful—but participation and availability can vary depending on staffing and resident mix.

Management and administrative responsiveness show both strengths and gaps. Some families describe proactive leadership, daily manager check-ins, and helpful transition assistance (furnishing rooms, media setup). Conversely, other accounts describe dismissive interactions with administrators, slow response to billing or placement questions, and inconsistent enforcement of policies. Taken together, the reviews suggest that Franciscan Villa offers strong clinical rehabilitation and many caring staff members, but prospective residents and families should assess unit-level staffing patterns, medication-management protocols, night/weekend coverage, and communication practices during tours and before placement to ensure the facility’s operations match the level of oversight and consistency they expect.

    About Franciscan Villa

Franciscan Villa offers assisted living, independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing care all in one place, so folks can get more help as they need it, and the place has around-the-clock nursing staff and care, which helps families feel a bit more at ease, and the building sits on scenic grounds with windows that look out on well-kept lawns and even a pond with a gazebo, and there are walking paths for stretching your legs. Rooms come in many styles, including companion suites, studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, all with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, and cable television outlets, plus every room has its own controls for heat and air, which is nice. Community spaces include lounges, a general store, a TV room for movie nights, a dedicated arts room, a library, a fitness and wellness center, and a spa, so there's always something to do or a quiet spot to sit. Residents can take part in arts and crafts, bingo, dance and exercise classes, museum tours, bridge groups, and activities like fishing at the pond, and creative activities suggested by residents often show up, which keeps things interesting. Franciscan Villa serves meals in a communal dining room with open dining and menu choices, and also offers guest meals, regular drink and snack times, along with weekly housekeeping, laundry, and scheduled transportation for shopping or outings. The facility provides all sorts of care services, including medication management, personal grooming, bathing, help with dressing, diabetic care, and incontinence care, and there's a 24-hour call system so help is always a button away. Skilled nursing, post-acute care, rapid recovery suites, occupational and physical therapy, plus memory care and Alzheimer's services are all available, and the nursing home section has certified beds and accepts Medicare and Medicaid, which can help with costs. The community offers spiritual care, with daily Mass and rosary, devotional services, and they also help veterans get VA aid and financial guidance, and no pets are allowed in the facility, though pet therapy visits do happen from time to time. The staff includes nurses available at all hours and trained help for memory and behavioral needs, and the activity staff tends to keep up a steady schedule throughout the week, so there's usually something going on or someone to visit with in the lounges. The campus is licensed under CC7202 and aims to offer all the basics to let seniors focus on living how they want, whether they need only a little help or more advanced care.
