    Beautiful community with caring staff

I chose this new community for its location and I'm very pleased. The place is beautiful, spotless and homey; staff are caring, professional and responsive; dining is impressive and activities are plentiful. Management and amenities (salon, gym, PT, dog park, outings) are top-notch - I'd recommend it to anyone who can afford a high-quality option.

    Summary of reviews

Sooner Station Senior Living presents as a modern, well‑appointed community with many elements families commonly seek: attractive architecture and finishes, spacious apartment plans, numerous communal spaces, and a broad activities calendar. Reviewers consistently cite the facility’s physical environment — clean public areas, landscaped grounds, a meditation garden, and hotel‑like amenities — as a major strength. Onsite services such as physical therapy, a salon, fitness rooms, and a variety of social programs and outings contribute to a lively, engaged atmosphere for residents.

Care and staffing demonstrate a mixed but generally positive profile. Many families describe caregiving and nursing staff as skilled, compassionate, and attentive; these staff are frequently credited with creating a warm, home‑like environment and providing peace of mind. At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns: inconsistent staff conduct and variability in staffing levels that appear to affect daily service. Memory‑care interactions and some clinical communications have been called brusque or insufficiently responsive in certain instances, and there are indications of unevenness in medication and care coordination that prospective families should investigate directly.

Dining and housekeeping show contrasting patterns. The dining program earns praise for variety, appealing desserts, and generous portions, and several reviewers describe the food overall as a highlight. However, meal temperature control and continuity of dining management (including staff turnover) are frequent complaints, and some families would prefer more home‑style preparations and heart‑healthy options. Housekeeping and apartment cleaning receive mixed feedback: communal areas are routinely described as clean while apartment‑level cleanliness and housekeeping follow‑through appear inconsistent.

Operational and facility management issues are a notable theme. As a new community, Sooner Station has experienced growing pains: ongoing construction, unfinished amenities, distance between some spaces, and service interruptions tied to construction activity. More seriously, there are reports of water intrusion and mold concerns and of delays in maintenance responses. Management responsiveness and follow‑through are described variably — some families praise accessible, engaged leadership, while others cite insufficient communication, delayed resolutions, and leadership turnover that affect service consistency.

Overall impression: Sooner Station offers strong environmental and programmatic strengths — attractive physical plant, an active calendar, and many compassionate clinical and caregiving staff — but exhibits operational inconsistency in several areas that materially affect resident experience. Prospective residents and families should tour multiple units, ask for specifics on staffing ratios and turnover, request recent inspection or remediation documentation for water/mold issues, review housekeeping and dining schedules and temperature controls, and seek clarity about construction timelines and management escalation procedures before deciding.
