    Content resident with caring staff

I moved in recently and have been very satisfied. The staff are fast, friendly and genuinely caring - Shawna (D.O.N.) and the admin are responsive and kind. The facility is beautiful, clean, and smells pleasant; my redecorated room, weekly cleaning, laundry service and amazing meals make life easy. There are plenty of activities (bingo, dominoes, shopping trips, exercise classes, puzzles), residents seem happy, and I'd recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews paint a mixed but informative picture. Many families and residents praise the facility's frontline strengths: staff are often described as caring, professional, and welcoming; accommodations are clean and have been recently remodeled; there are a variety of activities (cards, dominoes, bingo, exercise classes, outings and shopping trips); and amenities such as laundry service, an exercise room, an on-site beautician, and regular physician visits are available. Dining is frequently characterized positively, with several comments about good or “amazing” food and three-meal service, and routine housekeeping is noted as part of the daily operation.

At the same time, a set of recurring operational concerns appears across reviews. Clinical and care-quality issues include inconsistent medication administration and gaps in dementia-focused programming, which reviewers linked to boredom and unmet needs for residents with cognitive impairment. Some accounts describe delays or failures in incident response and escalation; these should be interpreted as potential gaps in clinical protocols and emergency-transfer practices rather than isolated language. Staffing levels and supervision are mentioned as variable, which reviewers associated with inconsistent service and occasional cancellations of family meetings or activities.

Communication and management practices show mixed signals. Several reviewers commend specific leaders and find administration responsive and easy to reach, while others describe cancelled family meetings, abrupt discharge timelines, and unclear fee increases when care needs intensify. This pattern suggests uneven family engagement and discharge-planning processes. Financial considerations appear important for prospective families: there are perceptions of high cost, additional charges for higher levels of care, and limited clarity around pricing and what triggers higher fees.

Other operational concerns include insufficient dietary customization for residents with special needs (for example, diabetic diets), and allegations related to personal-property control and privacy-protocol adherence—items disappearing from rooms and at least one account of a privacy breach were noted. Infection-control restrictions (such as COVID-related cancellations) were linked to reduced activity availability and resident boredom in some reports.

Overall, Westbrook Gardens demonstrates many strengths typical of an engaged senior living community—friendly staff, active programming, and maintained facilities—but the reviews also point to several areas needing attention: consistent clinical practices (medication and dementia care), clearer family communication and discharge policies, stronger property/privacy controls, and transparent fee structures. Prospective residents and their families should consider touring the community, asking specific questions about staffing ratios, dementia care staffing and programming, medication administration protocols, incident escalation and hospital-transfer policies, activity schedules during infection-control events, and a detailed explanation of fees and when they change.

About Westbrook Gardens Senior Living Community

Westbrook Gardens Senior Living Community sits at 1215 Westbrook Blvd in a quiet, suburban part of Purcell, Oklahoma, and is locally owned and operated, so folks here tend to know their neighbors and the staff have a friendly, caring nature, from what others have said. This building has pet-friendly private apartments for both cats and dogs, and each one's got wall-to-wall carpeting, individual climate control, fire detectors, and an emergency call system, which sure can bring a bit of peace of mind, especially for people used to living alone. The place's been renovated recently and serves as a full-care campus, meaning it covers a range of needs, no matter if someone's looking for independent living, assisted living, respite care, or more specialized support like memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia.

The staff offer help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and incontinence, and they keep an eye on residents' health, which includes medication management and wellness supervision. For folks who need medical care at night or diabetic care, those services are available, and caregivers do their best to create a personalized care plan for each person. There's transportation and services, so seniors can get to meals, shopping, or just enjoy a nice walk, and they even schedule appointments and give reminders for meals. Housekeeping, laundry service, and chef-prepared meals are part of the package, so burdens like cleaning and cooking don't really fall on the residents' shoulders anymore.

Common areas inside make it easier for seniors to socialize, and both on-site and off-site activities take place, so there's plenty of ways to keep minds and bodies busy. Recognized for things like meals, activities, and overall friendliness, Westbrook Gardens tries to hire joyful, helpful, and kind staff, though absolutely everything might not be perfect if you look at their reviews, since they've got a 3.5 rating out of 4 reviews. The community particularly stands out for protections against discrimination based on gender identity, orientation, and source of income, following both local and federal guidelines, which isn't always common everywhere. The exact room details, parking situation, or full list of amenities remain unclear, but the range of care-plus pets being allowed and the way community life is structured-makes Westbrook Gardens suited for seniors needing a bit more or a bit less help as they age, all in a place that's quiet and pretty well kept.
