    Immaculate facility, caring staff recommended

I've been very pleased with Kingston Court - the staff (CNAs, nurses, aides and admissions) are professional, kind and communicative, and the rehab/therapy team helped regain strength and independence. The facility is immaculate and welcoming, meals are excellent and customizable, activities are engaging, and family communication is strong; I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Kingston Court Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center are strongly polarized: a substantial number of families and residents describe high-quality rehabilitative care, compassionate direct-care staff, and an engaging communal environment, while another set of accounts raises significant operational and clinical concerns. The facility demonstrates clear strengths in short-term rehabilitation — physical and occupational therapy teams are frequently credited with helping residents regain mobility and independence. Many reviewers highlighted respectful CNAs and nurses, responsive admissions and front-desk personnel, reliable transportation, accessible Wi‑Fi, and a robust activities program that includes religious services, music, bingo, and social events.

Dining and activities are commonly praised: several reviewers described varied menus, the ability to request custom orders, and improvements in meal quality that approach restaurant standards in certain units. Activities and social programming are repeatedly cited as morale boosters and important contributors to residents' quality of life. Social work and discharge-planning support also received positive mention for facilitating transitions home and addressing individual needs.

Counterbalancing these positives are recurring operational weaknesses. A pattern of inconsistent staffing and variability between shifts was linked to delays in responding to call lights, missed personal-care tasks, and slow assistance after falls. Medication administration and clinical oversight emerged as a focal concern in multiple accounts, with descriptions of delayed or missed medications and unclear medication communication. There are also repeated concerns about dementia-care consistency and supervision for cognitively impaired residents.

Facility-management matters show mixed signals. Many reviewers praised cleanliness in rehabilitation areas and the professionalism of individual staff and leaders; others described uneven housekeeping, laundry delays, and problems managing residents' personal belongings. Infection-control and masking practices were identified as inconsistent in some instances. Communication with families — particularly around clinical changes, discharge planning, and emergency events — was noted to be uneven, and several families pursued regulatory complaints or raised allegations related to clinical management and property security.

Taken together, the reviews suggest Kingston Court is capable of delivering strong rehabilitation outcomes and offers several service-level advantages (therapy, activities, dining flexibility, and helpful admissions staff). However, variability in staffing, medication processes, dementia-care protocols, cleanliness in certain units, and family communication represent operational risks that prospective residents and families should evaluate. Recommended due diligence includes asking about current staffing ratios, medication-safety protocols, call-light response expectations, dementia-care procedures, infection-control policies, and how the facility documents and addresses family concerns and regulatory inquiries. Visiting multiple units at different times and speaking with current families can help assess whether the facility’s positive aspects are consistent with the level of care needed.

    About Kingston Court

Kingston Court Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, called ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Kingston Court), sits in East York, PA, and provides many care options for older adults needing support. This nursing home has skilled nursing care and is set up for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term stays, so people can get care after surgery, injury, or need more support over time. The teams here handle physical, occupational, and speech therapies and they're comfortable working with people who need help improving after a hospital visit or who are adjusting to changes in their health. People who have dementia or Alzheimer's can find memory care in a secure setting, while those needing temporary support can get respite care for just a few days or several weeks, and the center offers homecare, hospice, and palliative care services too, which can help families plan safely.

Around-the-clock supervision comes standard here, which means there are trained medical staff day and night for anyone who needs regular check-ins, whether for complicated medical conditions or just extra peace of mind. Every resident gets an individual care plan that tries to match services to their needs, and the staff works to help people thrive physically, mentally, and socially. Shared spaces include lounges for relaxing, activity areas for gatherings, an outdoor area for fresh air, and rooms-both private and semi-private-with TVs and internet access to feel more at home, while daily life includes things like housekeeping, full meals served in a dining area, and a calendar full of activities and social events.

The environment tries to make things comfortable, and the aim is always to make people feel welcome, mixing modern amenities with a familiar home-like setting, which can be a comfort when life has changed. Kingston Court has earned a reputation for expertise and safety over many years, and the facility works with different insurance and care options, including Medicaid HCBS, to help families navigate choices. While the star rating from past reviews sits at 3.0 out of 20 reviews-which suggests mixed feelings from past residents or families-the center stays open every day and stands as a steady part of the local community for older adults who need specialized care, memory support, therapy, or just a helping hand getting back on their feet.
