    Compassionate daily rehab, beautiful facility

My mother improved significantly here - compassionate, attentive nurses, therapists and aides provided skilled, proactive care and daily rehab that made a real difference. The facility is clean, bright and beautifully maintained with lovely gardens and great amenities (exercise room, fireplace, cafe); meals were healthy and delicious. Staff kept me updated and went above and beyond; I'm very satisfied and would recommend them for rehab and elder care.

    Summary of reviews

Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is frequently described as a clean, bright facility with strong rehabilitative and dementia-focused services. Reviewers consistently highlight daily therapist involvement, evident progress in mobility and function for many residents, and a general emphasis on clinical rehabilitation. The caregiving staff are commonly characterized as compassionate and attentive; families note individualized touches such as staff facilitating virtual visits and frequent condition updates.

Facility maintenance and aesthetics are recurring strengths. The building and grounds are described as well kept, with natural lighting, attractive rooms, gardens, and multiple communal amenities including an exercise room, cafeteria, small café, fireplace, and an on-site hair salon. Housekeeping and food services receive positive comments: meals are described as healthy and enjoyable, and the overall environment is noted as odor-free and orderly.

Management and communication are cited as positives in many accounts. Administrators are described as responsive, and the facility is willing to coordinate with families and accommodate care planning. Scheduled activities, occupational and physical therapy, and opportunities for socialization are part of the daily program, which families report as meaningful for many residents.

Areas of operational concern emerge as recurring themes. Staffing levels and staff-to-resident ratios are identified as a weakness; several accounts describe short staffing or variability in coverage, and a regulatory action related to staffing ratios was mentioned. That variability is linked to delayed responses to resident needs and occasional lapses in timeliness of assistance. There are also references to medication-administration and pharmacy coordination problems that suggest room for process improvement. Some reviewers indicate the facility’s model and programming are more strongly oriented toward dementia and cognitive-care populations, and therefore it may be less well suited for residents who are cognitively intact but require high levels of physical assistance.

Overall impression: Misericordia appears to provide high-quality rehabilitative care and compassionate staff interactions within a clean, amenity-rich environment. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s strengths in therapy, housekeeping, dining, and dementia care against operational issues related to staffing consistency, medication coordination, and visitation flexibility during outbreaks. Asking about current staffing ratios, call-response times, pharmacy processes, and how the facility matches care plans to high-physical-need residents will help families determine fit.
